124 | Who is compelling us when we sin? | 1 Sam 13:12 | gracefull | 80553
Despite the power (little power) of Satan man chooses his destiny. 2 corinthians 2:14-17 What is more, their minds were made stonelike; for to this day the same veil remains over them when they read the Old Covenant; it has not been unveiled, because only by Messiah is the veil taken away. Yes, till today, whenever Moshe(Moses) is read, a veil lies over their heart. "BUT." says the Torah(law), "whenever someone turns to Adonai, the veil is taken away.".Now Adonai in this text means the Spirit. And where the Spirit of Adonai is, there is freedom. So all of us with faces unveiled, see as in a mirror the glory of the Lord; and we are being changed into His image, from one degree of glory to the nest, by Adonai the Spirit. Man chooses...God empowers God bless, |

125 | Have you chosen this king? 1Sam 12:13 | John 6:15 | gracefull | 80552
Hi Ray, John 6:15, 18:37, 1 Samuel 12:12 For me these scriptures reveal an aspcet of mans carnal nature...(to tke the road of least resistence even if it is not the best road) Israel had God leading and reigning over them Himself, but this required the people to be involved in their salvation, to conciously make decisions regarding God's commands. They wanted a king to do their thinking and decision making for them. When we do this, our personal relationship with God deminishes, but our accountability does not. In relationship with Luke 19:10 Zachias repented and obeyed the conviction of his heart...He thus made Jesus King in his heart..? What comes to mind is Galatians 4:9 Man chooses the weak and carnal things over the deeper more 'heart exposing' things of the Spirit that actually place Jesus on the throne of our heart in our daily lives. God bless, |

128 | Did Jesus go to hell? | 1 Peter | gracefull | 80326
faith-dude..do a word search and you will find a wealth of information. Due to the sensitive naure of this subject I wll not go into it again at this point. I would point out that the teaching is not unscriptural but is contrary to 'orthodox doctrine' which should not matter if scriptural truth is more important to you than 'orthodox doctrine'. I am not anti-orthodox but I do not believe believers are to follow orthodox teaching blindly and not search the scriptures for themselves. The Holy Spirit has been given to each of us to teach us truth. Secondly: The doctrine that Jesus went to hell (died spiritually or experienced the same 'seperation from God' that a sinner would have experienced) should not be strange and it in no way even implies Jesus was not divine. If nothing else it confirms his divinity! And those I have heard that teach and believe this acknowledge the divinity of Jesus Christ the Messiah totally. These teachers also consider scripture final authority rather than the 'common interpretation of scripture'. Also study, alongside this study, the power and necessity of the ressurection. See www.studybibleforum.com There is a lengthy and indepth APOLOGETIC on this subject. Do the search and prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. God bless |

129 | What was the answer? | 1 Sam 28:12 | gracefull | 80124
In Genesis, God gave man(Adam) authority over the earth. Genesis 1:26-28 Prior to this time, Satan ruled here. When Adam sinned, he returned the authority to Satan. Satan actually did still have authority here until Jesus took it back. Acts 2:24 Colossians 1:9-13 9 For this reason also, (21) since the day we heard of it, (22) we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the (23) knowledge of His will in all spiritual (24) wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you will (25) walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, (26) to please Him in all respects, (27) bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 (28) strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; (29) joyously 12 giving thanks to (30) the Father, who has qualified us to share in (31) the inheritance of the saints in (32) Light 13 For He rescued us from the (33) domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of (34) His beloved Son, God bless |

130 | is fasting for today? | Luke 5:33 | gracefull | 80123
"i am confused no one is teaching it except the pentecostals" I am sure by the word pentecostals you mean full gospel believers who believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as seperate from the work of the Holy spirit at the new birth and who believe in the present working of the Holy spirit in the charisma gifts...(all, if not most, are not members of the Pentecostal denomination) "is fasting still for today? or Jesus never meant to let believers fast?" Jesus infered that after He, the bridegroom, was gone, fasting would be appropriate. "But the days will come; and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days." Paul fasting while waiting for Annanias to come and lay hands on him to receive his sight and the Holy Spirit. Acts 9:8-9, 17 Isaiah 58 is an excellent chapter to study what God considers an acceptable fast, because simply depriving ones self of something is simply deprivation. (Isaiah 58:1-5 is unacceptable) When one fasts-food, social activities, entertainments, anything- it must be replaced with some form of worship. It is an excellent way to break physical and mental bondages in one's life. Surrender tohse things that hinder and look to the Holy Sirit and the Word for the deliverance. (a time of pruning) Isaiah 58:6-7 IE-a time to seek the Lord's guidance through His word and by His Spirit. Isaiah 58:8-12 describes the rewards of the acceptable fast. God bless |

133 | they spoke in tongues and prophesied. | Acts 19:2 | gracefull | 79722
Hello God's lady, welcome and please take a few minutes to enter a brief prfile of yourself. Samuel 8 Yes, the devil came to late to tell me the Holy this truth had passed away as well, thank God! There are probably several threads on this forum where this is discussed. Just type Baptism of the Holy Spirit into the Word search and you will find many various statements of belief. Personaly from my brief historical study of church history and prayer believe that after the death of the disciples the 'churh' did the same thing the Jews did in in Samuel chapter 8. And the people said to Samuel"Give us a king to rule over us". Note what God's response was..a king will rule over you, and he will take your wealth and your daughters and make you his servants. God told Samuel "Listen to the people, to everything they say to you; for it is not you they are rejecting; but they are rejecting Me; they don't want Me to be king over them." So men were appointed to sek God for the people and and to interpret scripture for them. It is easy to se how the teaching of the supernatural working of the Holy spirit would become discouraged. The people forgot John 6:45.."They will all be taught by ADONAI". Many Christians have been taught, and as Paul taught in Corinthians, that there is a deceiving spirit and that they should 'try the spirits'but no where did he imply they were to be fearful. But 'fear' of being deceived led them to reject the supernatural working of the Holy spirit altogether...the path of least resistence..human nature. thus Satan convinced the religious community to reject the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3. God bless |

134 | What exactly must a person to be saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | gracefull | 79420
Dear MPierce, "There is nothing worse than someone calling you a non-christian when you thought you were." Actually, there is something worse..to stand before God in the judgement and find out you were not. Matthew 7:22-24 Matthew 25:40-42 But the good news is that God is not hiding the truth of the new birth behind a veil of mystery. Christians should not be affraid or feel threatened by the question "How do you KNOW you are saved?" Or "If you died today and stood before the Lord and He asked,'Why should I let you into heaven' what would be your answer?" Do a word search on salvation and study the various scripture references, and do so prayerfully because the Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit if you are a son. Romans 8:15-17 I will tell you this...there is a strong chance that children brought up in any denomination by being taught or even simply deceived by the enemy to believe that they are saved because they practice their religion diligently. God bless |

135 | When does God forgive me? | Rom 3:1 | gracefull | 79014
C. Hebrews 10:12 But this man (Jesus), after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Jesus the Messiah died once for all sin, thus opening the dorr for whosoever will.. Romans 8 tells us that through Jesus blood we receive His righteousness and are justified (sinless) through faith in His sacrifice. I like this simple but carnal analogy. I was a pauper, and someone in mercy placed a large amount of money in a bank account under my name and came to me and said 'Here is the # to the bank account for all you need to come out of this poverty'. I have a choice. Accept or reject. I would say the forgiveness has been provided for anyone who would choose to accept Jesus Christ. God has not forgiven until we ask in faith. Acts of repentance does not 'change' God. God has established the law of sin and death and the law of Spirit and life. WE CHOOSE John 3 Except a man be born again He cannot see the kingdom of God. 1Peter 1:23 says we are born of incorruptible seed. This is what divides the religious world. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no man cometh to the Father but by Him. God gave His Son Jesus to provide the way, but we must ACCEPT that Way. God bless |

136 | Matthew 4:8 | Matt 4:8 | gracefull | 78976
Hi Kofi.. Scripture does not indicate whetther Satan appeared physically or merely 'spoke' to Jesus. What it does state is that he was, in fact, present. Satan was offering worldly kingdoms, but Jesus did not come for a worldly kingdom but to fulfill the will of God and provide the eternal kingdom of God for all who would come. I believe when someone sells their soul for worldly authority Satan can use his influence to elevate them to power. Daniel 10:13-20 indicates that there was an angelic being (prince of Persia) that withstood Daniel's visitor and Michael had to assist in order for this messenger to get through. He and Michael were to fight the prince of Persia (note, not the king of Persia). God bless, |

137 | getting started over again | John | gracefull | 78832
Absolutely not. It means you stopped growing and your relationship with the Lord deteriorated. Romans 11:29 The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Repent and return to your first love. I suggest you begin again in John and reafirm your personal relationship with the lord Jesus Christ through His blood so Satan can't torment you with the question of your salvation. Then after settling that, you and the Holy Spirit can move forward into what God has planned for you. Recommit yourself to prayer and the Word. Repentance must be genuine for your committment to hold. God bless |

138 | Luke 9:27 | Luke 9:27 | gracefull | 78785
Hi Ngop, As I read your post this scripture came to mind. James 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your own lusts that war in your members? If each believer was perfectly Spirit led and had a perfectly renewed mind to the Truth as presented in scripture and revealed by the Holy Spirit, the kingdom of God would be what it should be. There would be no disagreements and divisions among us. So the kingdom of God is not imperfect, us human members are imperfect and do not always reflect a correct image of the kingdom of God. And will not until 'that which is perfect has come and we see not through the glass darkly but clearly having ALL darkness revealed.(When we are face to face with Jesus.) God bless |

139 | How do we seek the Kingdom of God? | Matthew | gracefull | 78784
Colossians 1:12-14 giving thanks to the Father , who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He has rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. We as born again believers have been transfered or translated, (moved from one to the other and is a fact, not an EFFORT). To seek the kingdom is not to attempt to attain it but rather the process of becoming aware of it and faithful in it. By this I mean simply that many believers understand the kingdom of God to be either heaven which they believe we must somehow earn, or that heaven is all we gained when we were redeemed. Others believe it is an external spiritual world we drift in and out of as the Holy Spirit chooses. However, according to Colossians we are already IN the kingdom of God if we have accepted the redemptive work of Jesus. So what does the scripture 'Seek ye first the kingdom of God' mean in light of the fact that we are already IN IT? It means to seek surrender to the leadership of the Holy Spirit and move from carnal awareness (senses living-tast, touch, smell-comfort seeking for the physical) to spiritual awareness and obedience. When one recognizes that they are spirit beings filled with the Spirit of God and have a calling and a purpose in this world beyond the survival and comfort training we received from natural birth, these things lose their significance and God's will for our life and His call for each of us personally becomes first priority, God then supplies our needs, as we are focused on His will and purpose. We no longer work to provide for ourselves, we work at the job or task God has directed us to for His service, or we move forward in the ministry He has called us to (go to some remote village in another country, and He will provide what we need while we minister His Word. My guess is He is calling you to a closer more intimate walk with Him and to put your need t provide for yourself in a lesser priority. Spend more time in prayer and the Word and less time doing other things you feel are important. Sometimes God convicts us of sin to be removed from our lives, and sometimes He is simply asking us to let go of our priorities or dreams and replace them with HIS. God bless! |

140 | Searching for the truth | Rev 1:1 | gracefull | 78357
Sheer specualation...If we saw Heaven,God, our Lord Jesus Christ, all the host of angels worshiping, with the perfect joy, perfect peace and beauty-what would be our response to continuing our life and service here? Would we become so discontent we could not function? Would it overwhelm our carnal mind so much that it would simply shut down? Forgive me for my wondering, and my lack of scripture, but your post inspired me to-wonder... God bless |
