1183 | how do i come closer to god? | Phil 4:8 | prayon | 167118
Greetings and welcome to the forum! You are not alone in your fears - many people have felt that way. Every emotion that you mentioned - fear, doubt, and unworthiness are not from God - they come from Satan. What is happening is you are seeking God and when you seek God you become a threat to Satan and his plans. Any time you become a threat to him he will put every type of emotion he can to stop you from growing closer to God. Here are some scriptures that will help you when you begin to doubt in God. Fear: Psa 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation. Who is there to fear? The LORD is my life's fortress. Who is there to be afraid of? Psa 34:4 I went to the LORD for help. He answered me and rescued me from all my fears. Isa 41:10 Don't be afraid, because I am with you. Don't be intimidated; I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand. 2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Doubt: Joh 20:27 ...do not be ready to disbelieve but to believe." Heb 12:1 Since we are surrounded by so many examples of faith, we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. Discouragement: Jos 1:9 "I have commanded you, 'Be strong and courageous! Don't tremble or be terrified, because the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.'" Mat 17:20 He told them, "Because you have so little faith. I can guarantee this truth: If your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Unworthiness: Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. Gen 1:26-27 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female. Psa 139:14 I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are marvelous and my soul knows it very well. Always remember do not dwell on your fears but instead Phi 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable. Hope his helps, prayon |

Terms of Use: "...You agree not to post, email or otherwise transmit any Postings that are unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable...." You agreed to the tems of use of this forum. In your last couple postings you have become insulting and have totally lost your humility that you are told by Jesus to have. I believe that you owe others an apology, especially kalos, and that you need to be very critical of your own postings before you post them. This is not a place to boast of your accomplishments this is a study forum. It is to study the word of God so that we may grow to be closer to Jesus Christ our Lord. I encourage you to follow the terms of use set forth by Lockman. What truly counts is not how much knowledge you have but how humbly you serve Christ with it. prayon |

1191 | author of Thessalonians | 1 Thessalonians | prayon | 95612
Greetings Churchlady, Thessalonians was written in response to the report that Timothy brought back to Paul about the condition of the church and the rising persecution. Both of the books are known as the eschatological epistles. The main themes are the return of Christ, the rapture and the 2nd coming. Paul had been evicted from Thessalonica and wrote mainly out of his concern for the flock he had been separated from. Some of the purposes were: to comfort the church, answer false allegations to encourage the persecuted church remind them of the importance of moral purity condemn the sluggard lifestyle correct a wrong understanding of prophetic events difuse tension in the church teach the basics of Christian living. Hope this helps. prayon |

Greetings, According to the Bible the first thing that will happen is the Lord will come with the sound of a trumpet and the believer's will be raptured. After that there will be 7 years of tribulation which will begin when the Roman antichrist signs a 7 year treaty with the Jews. During those 7 years 7 scrolls and 7 seals will be opend each one pronouncing a judgement that is worse than the last. After the 7 years of Tribulation Satan will be defeated at the battle of Armegeddon. Satan will then be imprisioned for 1000 years. This 1000 years are called the millennium reign. prayon

1199 | What's really going on? | 1 Thess 5:18 | prayon | 125074
Greetings Mommapbs, Our deliverence is from much more than death. Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Surely He hath born our griefs has to do with sickness. All sickness taken on cross - meets us where we are at - Heals us so that we will hear Him And carried our sorrows - has to do with emotional pain); suffering (Mental suffering - deals with our mind) Wounded for our transgressions - breach of relationship Man / Sin relationship breached spiritually (Make Him Lord and breach is restored) Bruised for our iniquities - deals with Past, present, and future - sin separated from God; Chastised for our peace - Shalom means peace or prosperity has to do with our wellness; safety wholeness; completeness His stripes we are healed - (Rapha:healed) - speaking in the causative sense refers to the body Healed - causes us to walk in health so we will serve Him Jehovah Rapha - One who heals you. prayon |

1200 | What's really going on? | 1 Thess 5:18 | prayon | 125075
Greetings, When you are healed you must walk in that healing - even when you are healed before the physical manifestation takes place. So many people do not believe that God will really heal you. The most important thing to receive a healing is you must have the faith that God did heal you. You turn faith loose by: Believing right Thinking right Making the right confession It is not a lack of power that hinders people, it is a lack of faith. Doubt also robs God’s people of their blessings. Here are the 4 steps Abraham used to work for him: 1) have God’s word for what you desire to receive from God 2) Believe God’s word 3) Consider not the contradictory circumstances 4) Give praise to God for the answer Whenever the illness tries to come back you must go into the warfare mode and deny what the physical is telling you and believe what God has told you and done for you. The devil will always try to use sickness as a way of decreasing your faith in God and your importance to Him. Hope this helps some. |
