1021 | Why God tolerated Abraham and Isaac? | Genesis | jlpangilinan | 29314
Genesis 20:1-12 If abraham is truly a man of God why he afraid for his life? He is coward? a liar (although we know that sarah is his half sister) but he dont tell the whole truth to Abimelech. If we analyze these verses and what happened when Abraham offer Isaac to God it seems that abraham is ready to kill his son but he afraid if his life is the one involve? Why God tolerated this kind of actions of Abraham? If we read of what happen to Rebecca and Isaac (Gen 26:1-22)the same thing that he lie to Abimelech for he afraid that people might kill them because rebecca is beautiful. Are they family of a coward and liar? what kind of Man of God these persons was? God bless, Johnny |

1023 | "Oliver Twist" Christians? | 2 Tim 3:16 | jlpangilinan | 29068
I can maybe answer part of your questions. "Is God's word as revealed in Holy Scripture incomplete?" No we know that it is complete. Isa 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. Those TV religious programs of course has thier own strategy of converting people or to gather people to join thier congregation. You write they all say "God told me this" or "God told me that" but this are personal claim that God revealed this to them. It thier own claim that God told them things to do but the question is are they saying the truth. For example the scripture stated: Mt 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mt 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Too many will say to Jesus Christ those things but questions is it is not Jesus claiming that they done this things but they claim it themselves. I am not saying that those TV religious program are wrong, but we can see thier fruit through thier fruits we can assure that they are truly with GOD, because Good tree will not have Evil fruit: Mt 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Mt 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. God bless, Johnny |

1025 | What type of "magic" do magi do? | Matt 2:1 | jlpangilinan | 27679
They are not magician, They are ("wise men") Magi. Easton Entry: It is not much referred to in the New Testament. The Magi mentioned in Mt 2:1-12 were not magicians in the ordinary sense of the word. They belonged to a religious caste, the followers of Zoroaster, the astrologers of the East. Simon, a magician, was found by Philip at Samaria (Ac 8:9-24); and Paul and Barnabas encountered Elymas, a Jewish sorcerer, at Paphos (Ac 13:6-12). At Ephesus there was a great destruction of magical books (Ac 19:18-19). |

1026 | CHAPTER 6 LORD SAID AND 9 GOD SAID | Gen 2:3 | jlpangilinan | 27678
Easton Bible Dictionay Entry: Lord There are various Hebrew and Greek words so rendered. (1.) Heb Jehovah, has been rendered in the English Bible LORD, printed in small capitals. This is the proper name of the God of the Hebrews. The form "Jehovah" is retained only in Ex 6:3; Ps 83:18; Isa 12:2; 26:4, both in the Authorized and the Revised Version. God (A.S. and Dutch God; DA Gud; Ger. Gott), the name of the Divine Being. It is the rendering (1) of the Hebrew 'El, from a word meaning to be strong; (2) of 'Eloah, plural 'Elohim. The singular form, Eloah, is used only in poetry. The plural form is more commonly used in all parts of the Bible, The Hebrew word Jehovah (q.v.), the only other word generally employed to denote the Supreme Being, is uniformly rendered in the Authorized Version by "LORD," printed in small capitals. The existence of God is taken for granted in the Bible. There is nowhere any argument to prove it. He who disbelieves this truth is spoken of as one devoid of understanding (Ps 14:1). The arguments generally adduced by theologians in proof of the being of God are: (1.) The a priori argument, which is the testimony afforded by reason. (2.) The a posteriori argument, by which we proceed logically from the facts of experience to causes. These arguments are, (a) The cosmological, by which it is proved that there must be a First Cause of all things, for every effect must have a cause. (b) The teleological, or the argument from design. We see everywhere the operations of an intelligent Cause in nature. (c) The moral argument, called also the anthropological argument, based on the moral consciousness and the history of mankind, which exhibits a moral order and purpose which can only be explained on the supposition of the existence of God. Conscience and human history testify that "verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth." The attributes of God are set forth in order by Moses in Ex 34:6-7. (see also De 6:4; 10:17; Nu 16:22; Ex 15:11; 33:19; Isa 44:6; Hab 3:6; Ps 102:26; Job 34:12.) They are also systematically classified in Re 5:12; 7:12. God's attributes are spoken of by some as absolute, i.e., such as belong to his essence as Jehovah, Jah, etc.; and relative, i.e., such as are ascribed to him with relation to his creatures. Others distinguish them into communicable, i.e., those which can be imparted in degree to his creatures: goodness, holiness, wisdom, etc.; and incommunicable, which cannot be so imparted: independence, immutability, immensity, and eternity. They are by some also divided into natural attributes, eternity, immensity, etc.; and moral, holiness, goodness, etc. Seven This number occurs frequently in Scripture, and in such connections as lead to the supposition that it has some typical meaning. On the seventh day God rested, and hallowed it (Ge 2:2-3). The division of time into weeks of seven days each accounts for many instances of the occurrence of this number. This number has been called the symbol of perfection, and also the symbol of rest. "Jacob's seven years' service to Laban; Pharaoh's seven fat oxen and seven lean ones; the seven branches of the golden candlestick; the seven trumpets and the seven priests who sounded them; the seven days' siege of Jericho; the seven churches, seven spirits, seven stars, seven seals, seven vials, and many others, sufficiently prove the importance of this sacred number" (see Le 25:4; 1Sa 2:5; Ps 12:6; 79:12; Pr 26:16; Isa 4:1; Mt 18:21-22; Lu 17:4). The feast of Passover (Ex 12:15-16), the feast of Weeks (De 16:9), of Tabernacles (De 13:15), and the Jubilee (Le 25:8), were all ordered by seven. Seven is the number of sacrifice (2Ch 29:21; Job 42:8), of purification and consecration (Le 27:34,34; 8:11,33; 14:9,51), of forgiveness (Mt 18:21-22; Lu 17:4), of reward (De 28:7; 1Sa 2:5), and of punishment (Le 26:21,24,28; De 28:25). It is used for any round number in such passages as Job 5:19; Pr 26:16,25; Isa 4:1; Mt 12:45. It is used also to mean "abundantly" (Ge 4:15,24; Le 26:24; Ps 79:12). |

1027 | Is it wrong to have pictures of Jesus? | Rom 1:23 | jlpangilinan | 27613
If we are a Christian, what do you think the appropriate haircut for us if you are a man or a woman? Do your pastors has an haircut like a woman if He is a man? Do you think it is appropriate for a pastor to look like as an addict? Are we respect them if they look so?. I know God looks into our heart and not in our looks, how about other people? the community? do you think they will not look to your physical as a human being. Example God is truly look into our hearts that is why He will not affected even you are nude or not. How people around you? Are thinking that you are a faithful Christian if you go to church nude? About the issue of Samson, are we samson? are belongs to Jewish people? If we are going to attach every commanded to them or what they are doing we follow I think we have a problem. The case of samson is a different thing: Jg 13:3 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. 3. Easton Jg 13:4 Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: 4. Easton Jg 13:5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. Are angels come into our mother and said the same things, and practice the same things. Pork is an unclean in the Jewish but in Jesus Christ is clean already. We practice things that not acceptable to Jewish I know you would agree to that (if you are not belong to Jewish religion) I am not saying that teaching in the Old Testament is a Mistake, but we follow teaching from these if it is included in the teaching of Jesus Christ. As Christian, we have our own covenant different from them: Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. |

1028 | Is it wrong to have pictures of Jesus? | Rom 1:23 | jlpangilinan | 27612
I used those passages just to wieght that the pictures of (images)Jesus that shown today is not Him. You said:don't think hair length has anything to do with it. What is long? Whose definition are we going to use? Yours, mine, my kids, the Army? Where is the definition of “long” found in the Word anyway? I think we know the difinition, as a Christian I think we know what kind of hair cut is appropriate for a man and for the woman. I saw many evangelist like Morris Cerrulo and other Missionaries of Christian I dont see long hair in them that like what I saw in the woman. So I think those are clear difinition already. Do your pastors has a hair lenght like a woman or do your co-churches woman has a haircut appropraite for a man? We know that God looks into our hearts, but if you are a christians you must show it and live with it. It is the same God will not affect if you are nude or not, but how other people? do you think other people will believed that you are a faithful christian if they saw you going to church nude? It is an example. God bless, Johnny |

1029 | Is it wrong to have pictures of Jesus? | Rom 1:23 | jlpangilinan | 27609
We can worship him in spirit and truth, yes what we have is faith, we do not see God we do not see the real face of christ and we believed that Jesus Christ is our saviour. God is spirit so we must worship Him in spirit not as an Image that has mouth but cannot speak, that has ears but cannot hear prayers. Your statement:"My understanding is that you are saying if I have hair to my shoulders then I am shameful? I thought God looks at the heart?" Your truly right my friend, God looks at the heart, how about your community, other people. For example if you are a pastor that speaks the word of God then you have the hair that looks like an addict or a look not respected, do you think people that you are going to share will listen to you? Another example, I know God truly look at the heart because He is God. Even you are nude at all it will not affect God, but if you try to go to church nude, do you think this will not affect other co-churches? or other people? If we are a truly Christian we act as a Christian and live as a Christian. God bless, Johnny |

1030 | Is it wrong to have pictures of Jesus? | Rom 1:23 | jlpangilinan | 27597
Rextar, How can we sure that the picture we have is the true Jesus Christ? If the picture that you have the one who used by the catholic church, Im sure it is not Jesus Christ. 1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 1Co 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. Apostle paul taught us that if the man have a long hair it is a shame, I dont think Jesus Christ will allow Himself to have a long hair and not cutting it as an example. Why do we have to have a kind of picture? Bible taught us to worship Him in Spirit and truth: Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. God bless, Johnny |

1033 | Measured them with a line? | 2 Sam 8:2 | jlpangilinan | 27493
Easton Bible Dictionary Entry on "LINE" or "Cord" Cord frequently used in its proper sense, for fastening a tent (Ex 35:18; 39:40), yoking animals to a cart (Isa 5:18), binding prisoners (Jg 15:13; Ps 2:3; 129:4), and measuring ground (2Sa 8:2; Ps 78:55). Figuratively, death is spoken of as the giving way of the tent-cord (Job 4:21. "Is not their tent-cord plucked up?" R.V.). To gird one's self with a cord was a token of sorrow and humiliation. To stretch a line over a city meant to level it with the ground (La 2:8). The "cords of sin" are the consequences or fruits of sin (Pr 5:22). A "threefold cord" is a symbol of union (Ec 4:12). The "cords of a man" (Ho 11:4) means that men employ, in inducing each other, methods such as are suitable to men, and not "cords" such as oxen are led by. Isaiah (Isa 5:18) says, "Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope." This verse is thus given in the Chaldee paraphrase: "Woe to those who begin to sin by little and little, drawing sin by cords of vanity: these sins grow and increase till they are strong and are like a cart rope." This may be the true meaning. The wicked at first draw sin with a slender cord; but by-and-by their sins increase, and they are drawn after them by a cart rope. Henderson in his commentary says: "The meaning is that the persons described were not satisfied with ordinary modes of provoking the Deity, and the consequent ordinary approach of his vengeance, but, as it were, yoked themselves in the harness of iniquity, and, putting forth all their strength, drew down upon themselves, with accelerated speed, the load of punishment which their sins deserved." |

1037 | I agree But......... | Rom 1:18 | jlpangilinan | 27375
I think it is very clear in the verse 25 "who change the truth of God into a lie" Because they are talking of Idols worshipers and evildoers who worships creature more than God. They change "truth" of God into a lie. They change "truth" of God of Being God and replace it with Idols. Ro 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Ro 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 26. Ro 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. I hope it would helps. God bless, Johnny |

1038 | Do we continue to serve God after death? | Acts 3:22 | jlpangilinan | 27362
1. My answer to your first Question:Maybe we still serve Him after death Re 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: Re 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. For your second question, here is my answer. The transfugaration of Moses and Elijah has deep meaning. Of course you can disagree if you find it not ok with you. Mt 17:3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Mt 17:4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. Mt 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. At verse 17:4 "Peter said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias." It is peter suggested to Jesus Christ to build three tabernacles, at 17:5 "While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." "While he yet spake" Before Peter spake He is going to say: The God the father told them: "said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." They are three of them at that moment, it was Jesus Christ, Moses, and Elias. Why the God the father said "hear Him" and not "hear them" Meaning it is Jesus we are going to listen, to His teaching. We are going to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ, if the teaching of moses is not included in the teaching of Jesus Christ we are not going to follow it anymore, because we are not justified by the law of Moses: Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. But I am not saying that we are going to exclude all of teaching of Moses, but those teaching that including in the the teaching of Jesus Christ are still we are going to observe it. For example honor thy parent, this teaching are continue taught by Christ and His deciples, we are to follow this. I think that is the real meaning "it Jesus Christ we are going to listen because He is the truly Mout of God: De 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. It is also moses said it was Jesus we are going to listen Ac 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. I hope it helps God bless, Johnny |

All good things you can do in sabbath. Here are the few verses that I can back up my answer: Mt 12:1 they went to corn fields Mr 1:21 Jesus taught in the day of Sabbath. Mr. 3:4 Which is lawful to do good or do evil in the day of sabbath? Also Jesus Chris heal sick people in the day of sabbath. Mt 2:12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. Mt 2:13 ¶ And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. Mt 2:14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: The wise men visit Jesus in betlehem after that, Joseph and Mary flee to egypt as warn of an angel.
