104 | Please explain the Trinity. | John 1:1 | angel1 | 40515
Hi joe-angel 1 here. This is off the subject but you mention working in countercult evangelism. A few years ago I was periferially involved with a ministery out of Berkley-the Spiritual Counterfiets Project. Do you happen to know if they are still working? thx angel 1
105 | Please explain the Trinity. | John 1:1 | angel1 | 40512
Now Hank---don't be sarcastic-see Mark 10: 14 and 15. I think maybe ethan has tapped into the meaning of the simplicity of coming as a child by faith. saying God is simple may be a mistake but simple faith is not.--in Him angel1
106 | Please explain the Trinity. | John 1:1 | angel1 | 40511
I like your analogy. Here's another-the three leaf clover-one stem three leaves one clover-God reveals Himself in nature as well.and i think this as close to understanding the trinity as we can get with our little sheep minds. in Him-angel1
107 | A Study of John's Gospel. | John 1:1 | angel1 | 40506
Hi andy-cynthia and all. John1:1-word/logos. defined in Greek as "something said including the thought" here's a side light- it also implies-motive-. This according to Dr. Strong's concordance.I do have to trust scholars re:the original languages. Rainbow-I must disagree that vs5 refers to John. It seems to me to be a continuation of the thought in vs4. ....the life was the light of men vs5-and-the light shineth....Then the switch to John who bears wittness to the light.RE; why Jesus had to be a man-God made a covanent with man. Man failed his part. God is absolutely faithful-we people have no clue what faithful really is- So to remain faithful to do His word He sent a man who fullfilled that part of the covanent. Only God's perfection can meet His own standards. He loves us so much that He paid the price Himself for us.-in Him angel1

110 | A Study of John's Gospel. | John 1:1 | angel1 | 40416
Hi joe-thx for your concern-no, I mean only that in Johns gospel Jesus is revealed as the " I AM" more than in the others. All of the bible reveals Jesus in His totality. love in Him angel1
111 | Easter questions | Ex 12:2 | angel1 | 40413
Hi john-perhaps I was cavalier in my statement re: ishtar. I don't mean to jump on a bandwagon. Please read Kings-all of it. You will see there a thread. It goes like this-"this king served in Jerusalem-he was x# of years old when his reign began-his mothers name was-he served x# of years" and he either "pleased" God or he didn't. there is only one way listed that pleased God--the king either got rid of all the false gods and brought the people back to the one true God or he didn't.There are a few listed who "pleased God" but not completely-they left a "grove" or "hill". These groves and hills were used by witches for ceremonies. we can't ignore that false gods abound today just as they always have and will-until Jesus returns. By the way-yes, the church fathers have been asleep"lo these many years" and it is time to wake up. in Him angel1
112 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | angel1 | 40367
Hank--you must be a poet--and you gave me a true God filled laugh-yes He does have a sense of HUMOR. He gave us "that slayer of cats" so we could continue to seek Him and know we have ETERNAL life -not just 9 of them. By the way i don't ring the "little bells" but I don't think it's a bad thing. Thanks for the laugh I needed it today. God Bless--angel1
113 | Easter questions | Ex 12:2 | angel1 | 40364
hi john--thx for reply-I didn't mean to imply that we have anything to worry about--we know who wins--we must not-however-ignore the war because we know the outcome. There are souls to be saved people who don't know Jesus yet and we must continue to fight -it isn't over yet even though we know Jesus won we have been told to continue running the race. paul knew this . i am not "hysterical" i am commited. in HIM-angel1
114 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | angel1 | 40259
Hi ray-you must be a really good typist-or very young--Please read the content and not the typing I think well but this keyboard is "anathama" to me--God bless -angel1-Does God have a sense of humor or what?
115 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | angel1 | 40254
hi hank-forgive me if i misunderstood the purpose of your question.the socratic method is well known. and the best one Intellectually. Job was told "pointedly"-I AM-who do you think you are?"--He was a righteous person on the earth who suffered much but he dared to approach the throne without Jesus --and so was put in his place as we all would be.--in HIM-angel1
116 | blessings | Revelation | angel1 | 40245
to all-"may God's blessings be on you---beautiful child" angel1
117 | "God commanded the Jews to divorce" | Ezra 10:11 | angel1 | 39455
kalos-all the old testament shows us this message--I am-have faith in me-I am the lord thy God thou shalt not have other gods before me. In this instance He is saying again "don't go to other gods-divorce yourself from -anything- that seperates you from ME. This is the law and judgement. Jesus came to fulfill the law and brings you forgiveness. God isn't "commanding" divorce.he commanded we not get into bed with false gods to begin with--but since we did---we must divorce ourselves now---repent . Christians are the "bride "of Christ. Ezra calls us to repentance and becoming part of the true bride. God's love to you- angel1
118 | purgatory is it true? | Matt 22:32 | angel1 | 38892
Hi Joe thx for reply-I read the psalms often my favorite is 139. I guess what is on my mind is that it seems to me we study what God has done and what He will do but we don't talk much about what He is doing today except as it relates to prophesy. I think He's still working with us individually and i'd like to hear more about that too. in Him angel1
119 | purgatory is it true? | Matt 22:32 | angel1 | 38665
Hi joe-thx for reply-your scriptures are wonderful you make me think--what is praise of God?-is it not -according to the scriptures -simply sharing with others all His works past and present? in Him angel1
