1 | Understanding being saved. | Not Specified | speight | 174991
can anyone help me understand once saved always saved. I see some people say they are saved and once their fire for God is burnt out they go doing things that they did before they were saved, even worse. I keep looking at the scriptures of Rev.3:16 and Rev.21:8. I also see that the people that are saved will be judged for their works done on earth. I also read about backslidding in Luke9:62 and 2Peter2:20-21. I was once told that if a person is truely saved then they can't help but live there life for God. Can someone help me understand?

Do christian's have right's? There is a person that was saved and here recently that person has taken up drinking, do I have the right to tell this person that what she is doing is wrong? I totally do not understand when a christian that has backslidden says that it is none of my business and that it is not me that they are going to have to answer to, that is correct. It is like they have the attitude of "okay, I'm saved now I can do whatever". Please someone help me understand.

4 | Loving God | NT general Archive 1 | speight | 174899
1John2:15 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1John2:16 - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is no of the Father, but is of the world. Go to Gal. 5:16 - This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. When you wanting to do God's work, stay focused on God. When you give in to the lust of the flesh, then that means you're slipping away from God and His work. Also go to Rev.3:15 - I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. Rev.3:16 - So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot I will spue thee out of my mouth. I hope I have provided enough scriptures for your answer that you are looking for. |

8 | the 5th commandment | Ex 20:12 | speight | 174819
I had the same question to an elder of my church just yesturday. I had been reading the new testiment books and couldn't understand why they kept going back to the old testment and the answer that was given to me was they didn't have a Bible to read back in those days, so Paul and John would have to refer back to the old testment when either preaching or witnessing to a group of people. Everything in the Bible refers to us nowadays regardless if it is the old or new testament, the entire Bible is a guide for us to follow. The word honour, whether it is spelled honour or honor still means great respect. I hope I helped.

12 | WHY DOES LUKE TELL THE STORY DIFFERENT? | Luke 23:42 | speight | 174980
Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John are 4 different people. They are telling it the way they witnessed it. Go to Luke 23:42. That is where the theif is asking Jesus to remember him. Mathew, Mark, Luke and John all witnessed the life of Jesus, but each of them was at different places at different times. So one did not see what the other saw. If they did see the same thing there thoughts about it would be different. I hoped I helped.
13 | Any insight to the passage in John 11? | John | speight | 175034
Have you ever heard the song " 4 days too late"? You can go to solidgospel.com. The song talks of John 11, that Lazarus was a sick and it took Jesus 4 days to reach him, but by the time He got there it was too late. Lazarus was already dead. Regardless, God was there already. Even though Lazarus was dead on earth, he is alive in heaven. Is that what you wanted to know? |

14 | Receiving Holy Spirit | John 20:22 | speight | 174923
In John20:22 Jesus talking to the disciples telling them what is to come after He is risen. John is one of the 4 gospels of the Bible, which is the life, death, and ressurection of Jesus. Now the book of Acts is a sequel to the book of Luke. Acts2 is when they do recieve the holy ghost after Jesus has risen. In Acts 2:1 that they call the day of Pentecost, that is basically refering to them recieving the holy ghost and speaking in tongues in verses 2-4. Now that is to MY UNDERSTANDING.
15 | what is true church | Romans | speight | 174944
I had many questions about different religions and the truth is there is one God, it doesn't matter what religion you belong to it is what the Bible and God tells you in your heart. Whatever church you are looking for, make sure that it is a Bible based church and not someone preaching their opinions. There is a scripture that I'm looking for right now and can not find it if my life depended on it and it says lean not to the understanding of others, but of your own. One verse that I will never forget is Romans 10:9. I just came across Romans 10:12 - For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. |

17 | verses on being loved by God as our Dad | Romans | speight | 175061
Mathew18:22- Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him: till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, Isay not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Mark11:25- And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. James5:16- Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. Th effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. God's love better than life, Psalm 63:3 God's perfect love, 1John2:5 1John3:1-3 God's great love It is so hard to get anything out of the world being a christian because christians are so unique people, it is kinda like we are the outcast.(I speak from experience). As long as one has forgiveness and peace with God, nothing else should really matter. If you friend still feels down, just remind him that it is only satan and that he has the armour of God to fight it. When me and my husband are down some how we are drawn back to Ephasians 1 to remind us of our spiritual blessings. I can totally relate, I will be praying for you and your friend. God Bless you. Your sister in Christ. |

18 | Cigaretts and the Lord | Galatians | speight | 175112
I just went through this with my husband, he use to smoke and dipp. Go to Galations 5:16- This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17- For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. My husband decided that those things would be a stumbling block for his hunger for the Lord. So he gave it up. Also, the Bible states (my husband tells me this all the time regarding me taking care of myself, but I can't find the scripture. I know it is there though.) Your body is the temple of God that lives in your heart, that we must take care of it. |
