NASB | Genesis 4:14 "Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 4:14 "Behold, You have driven me out this day from the face of the land; and from Your face (presence) I will be hidden, and I will be a fugitive and an [aimless] vagabond on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me." |
Bible Question: Actually, Genesis 4:14-16 (NLT) - a question you have all heard many times, I'm sure (pardon the redundancy)... “All who see me…” “They will not…”: who are Cain and God speaking of? Weren't Adam and Eve were the first people on earth, and Cain and Abel the first children born of the first people? Yet, the above passage implies that there are many others. Who were the others they were speaking of? Where did they come from? I would think that, if Cain were talking about the creatures of the earth, he would have said, "whatever finds me" instead of "WHOever finds me"... Any insight you could give would be appreciated and would really help my (personal) Bible studies. Thank you! |
Bible Answer: Turn to Gensis5 it goes to talk about Adam living 130years and that he begat a son called Seth that lived 800years that begat sons and daughters. I wondered the same thing, I just didn't realize that he lived 800years. I hope that helped. |
