1 | What is the LIght in Genesis 1 | Not Specified | greatfullydead | 188125
In Genesis 1:3 God says let there be light. My question is this light simply the sun or light in general. if it is just light can this be used to support the big bang theory? I believe that Genesis 1:1-2 Bring into focus the earth, and thus narrowing what is meant by light when he does so in v.3. Please share.

9 | Are not elders shepherds, or overseers? | 2 Tim 4:5 | greatfullydead | 86983
Who makes should make decisions in the church today, such as appointing elders, evangelists, deacons, knowing that Authority to do such is from Jesus. Thank you for your thoroughness in your previous answer. It was very helpful. My Church is at a point where they are realizing that the evangelist was making decisions as if they were apostles. Knowing this is wrong I am looking for the biblical way to make a church governing decison with the authority of Jesus being upheld. In the NT Paul had some serious weight and was able to lay down some rules for holy living. I understand these could be directly from the lord and AMEN, but I dont think that Joe evangelist should do such things, but I do think there needs to be a way to carry out the Authority of the scriptures. I see how the Elders laid there hands on Timothy, but is this where they make him an evangelist? I see how it says that they gave him a gift but I'm not sure what they are talking about. thank you much its appreciated. greatfullydead |

10 | Active Homosexuals: Truly Christian? | Rom 1:21 | greatfullydead | 86963
This scripture clearly states how those who exchnage the truth of God for a lie will be in danger of recieving the "due penalty for their perversion". I think the point at which that happens is for God to determine and our role is to help them to repent and turn to God. let me know what ya think |

15 | deacons | 1 Tim 3:8 | greatfullydead | 77894
Thank you for the response, however I do not completely understand... We want decons to be selected by God, but practically how does that work... we have a congregation of about 300 and we want to have biblical leadership. I donot see democracy in the scriptures so I agree that a vote is out, but who judges the test results (undoubtedly God gives the test and he judges pass/fail, but how do we keep human will out of the picture?) |
