5 | Verses 11-15 of Isaiah | Bible general Archive 3 | canawedding | 193581
Jesus Christ told us all to "sin no more", Jn 5. This is most important. Jesus Christ told us all to seek first God's Kingdom and God's Righteousness, Mt 6:33. When we find what we were told to find, when what we find becomes more important to us than our reputations and even our physical life, then we will know who the wolves are and who the bad trees are and why, anne
6 | what to say to someone who doesnt believ | Bible general Archive 3 | canawedding | 194014
God created everything good, very good. However, angels and people have rebelled against God. Your friend is seeing the results of that rebellion but people need to put the blame where it belongs and learn to hate the sin that causes the sorrow. Jesus Christ told us all to "sin no more", Jn 5. Everyone, who wants a future where there is no sin and no sorrow, should seek first God's Kingdom and God's Righteousness, Mt 6:33; Ro 1:16-21.
7 | New Perspective of Sha'ul | NT general Archive 1 | canawedding | 193501
A person cannot live under both the Law of Sin and Death and the Law of the Spirit of Life at the same time; it must be one or the other. God mercifully allowed a transition from Judaism to Christianity as we can see from the first 15 chapters of Acts. Paul temporarily continued with a few select Jewish rituals, not because they had anything to do with salvation anymore but to cater to the weak Jews in order to win them over to Jesus Christ, probably while the physical temple was still standing. I seriously doubt that any of the true Christians continued in any of the "ordinances" after the physical temple ceased to exist. It took some Jews time to adjust, especially to the fact that God was saving Gentiles exactly as He had saved the first believing Jews -- through repentance and faith that leads to obedience, Ac 11:1-18. Also, read Mt 5-7. Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law and Prophets, not to abolish. Did Paul contradict Him in Eph 2? No, not at all but why not? Jesus Christ also said we must exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees or we will not enter into His Kingdom. How is that accomplished? Do you know? And, there in Mt 5-7, we read how true Christians must exceed the OT Law and that is only possible for someone who belongs to the Law of the Spirit of Life. To belong to that Law we must seek first as Jesus Christ told us to do in Mt 6:33. What is it, exactly, that we must find? In the service of the Righteous One, anne |

Hello Talmid, Thank you for your reply. You wrote: "it is by faith that we are saved" and that is true but that statement can mean many different things to many different people and it does but there is only "one Faith" that will save us, Eph 4:4-7. In Mt 6:33, Jesus Christ told us to seek first God's Kingdom and God's Righteousness. In Ro 1:16-21, we read what Paul wrote about that same saving Faith and that same saving Righteousness. What we must find also has everything to do with the narrow Gate and the narrow Road, Mt 7. What, exactly, must we find according to Mt 6:33? I think you have misunderstood me. Please, read my previous comments again. I can't list them here due to a space requirement by the site. The "split" you mentioned took place in Ac 11 where the believing Jews learned that Gentiles are saved just like them -- through repentance and faith. Are you a child of Abraham? All true Christians must be the Children of Abraham. Did Abraham have the Torah or any other Scriptures? When was Abraham credited with Righteousness from God and why? The Scriptures remain the "letter that kills" for everyone who does not have the exact "one Faith", 2Co 3-4. Do you think those who did not have access to the Scriptures or those who never heard a true Christian preach had no opportunity to be saved? Well, they all have and only the exact original Gospel Truth can explain it. However, more will be required from those of us with the Scriptures and Jesus Christ's request in Mt 6:33 is very specific. What, exactly, must we find first of all? Those who have found, will certainly know exactly what they found and how. As far as the Reformation and whom to "cite", i would highly recommend that you read Robert Barclay's "Apology for the True Christian Divinity" written over 300 years ago. Let me ask you this: How is it possible that i learned what is written in that book 3 and 1/2 years before i knew about it or about the people who believed in its teaching? Except for an occasional very minor non-salvation issue, i had also believed what was written by those true Christians, 3 and 1/2 years before i knew what they had believed in and what they had written. Over 150 years after it was written, Barclay's book alone remained on a controversial shelf at Oxford where all other writings had been successfully disputed and removed. Only Barclay's Apology remained 150 years later and that is no surprise since what is written in it totally agrees with the Teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ and all of His true servants. As far as Paul and the Law: Paul knew that the New Covenant must be spiritual. God is Spirit and He must be worshipped in Spirit and in Truth, Jn 4:1-26. All true Christians will have God's Law of Faith written on their heart and in their minds, Heb 8-10. Do you understand what Paul meant when he wrote about the letter that kills? Do you understand how true Christians must exceed the old Law and how that becomes possible? Of course, not all Jews had a problem with Gentiles not being circumcised but there were other issues, like eating together and the kinds of foods and the washing rituals. It took time for some to adjust and others never did but those problems and the people who caused them were symbolic of others who would come and cause similar problems. Although in Galatians, Paul primarily focused on the specific problem of physical circumcisions, what Paul wrote there also applies to all other physical rituals from the OT Law. You said, AMEN, to the repentance and faith that leads to obedience. What, exactly, must we believe as we read in Mk 1:14-15 and many other Scriptures? You also agreed with Mt 5:17-20 but you didn't answer my simple question about Eph 2. It does appear that Paul was contradicting what Jesus Christ said about not abolishing the Law but he didn't. What was Paul teaching us there? You are right that not one of us has deserved to be saved through Jesus Christ. We cannot be saved without receiving Righteousness from God, that is true but how, exactly, do we receive it? We must seek first and that command must be taken in a very large context of the Gospels, Mt 1-7, minimum, but all of Mt 1-13 and Lk 10-13 are even better. God's entire Holy Bible is about His Righteousness, His Righteous Requirements, His Gift of Righteousness and His Righteous Judgment. More will be required from those who have more and those of us with the Scriptures were told to seek first and we must find first but it is in plain sight. I'd also like to remind everyone that it is always a very good idea to take Mt 23:8-12 and Jn 6:45 very seriously, anne |

9 | sarah and abraham children | Gen 11:30 | canawedding | 193363
Ge 11:30: And Sarai was barren. She had no child. Ge 15:2. And Abram said, O Lord Yahweh, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and he that shall be possessor of my house is Eliezer of Damascus? Ge 16:1: Now Sarai, Abram's wife, bare him no children. And she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. Ge 16:15: And Hagar bare Abram a son. And Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bare, Ishmael. Ge 17:15-16, 19: And God said unto Abraham, as for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. 16. And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her. Yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples shall be of her ... 19. And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son. And thou shalt call his name Isaac. And I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him. |

Ro 13: 12. The night is far spent and the day is at hand. Let us, therefore, cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the Armor of Light. 13. Let us walk becomingly, as in the day, not in revelling and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy. 14. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. |

11 | Mt 6:33, what must we find first? | Matt 6:33 | canawedding | 193079

12 | Mt 6:33, what must we find first? | Matt 6:33 | canawedding | 193094
God's entire Holy Bible declares His Righteousness, His Righteous Requirements, His Gift of Righteousness and His Righteous Judgment. In Mt 6:33, Jesus Christ said we must seek first God's Kingdom and God's Righteousness. Therefore, we must find first what He wants us to find. Remember: Only a few will find the narrow Gate and narrow Road, Mt 7. If we do not start on the right road, we will not go where we need to go. And, yes, we must "rather, do this" as you replied but what, exactly? What is "this" that we must do? After John the Baptist went to prison, not before but after, Jesus Christ began His earthly Ministry. He said we must repent and believe, Mk 1:14-15. What, exactly, must we believe? Does that have anything to do with Mt 6:33? Yes, it does as Paul also wrote in his critical summary of Romans in Ro 1:16-21. What, exactly, must we find first according to Jesus Christ's command in Mt 6:33 and Paul's teaching on the very same command in Ro 1:16-21?
13 | pride and ego | Matt 16:24 | canawedding | 193174
Paul wrote in Ro 8:17 and elsewhere that true Christians will suffer with Jesus Christ because all true Christians will be persecuted. However, it all begins with Mt 6:33. First means first and what Jesus Christ said there has everything to do with His narrow Gate and His narrow Road that few will find.
14 | Does baptism show we're a follower? | Matt 28:19 | canawedding | 193812
After John the Baptist went to prison, Jesus Christ began His earthly Ministry, Mk 1:14-15. During His earthly Ministry, there were no physical water baptisms by His disciples. What was written in Jn 3:22-4:3 took place before John the Baptist went to prison and, therefore, before Jesus Christ's earthly Ministry began. Then, in Ac 8 and Ac 10, we read how the believing Jews had a temporary problem with non-Jews. What did Peter learn in Ac 11? Not to call unclean or common what God has made clean. How does God make us clean? Read Jn 15:1-17; 1Pe 1 for a couple of excellent examples. And, in Ac 11, instead of repeating his command to baptize Cornelius and household with physical water, what did Peter say instead? The following statement that Peter quoted is in the NT six times, 6 times: John the Baptist baptized with water but Jesus Christ will baptize with God's Holy Spirit, Mt 3; Mk 1; Lk 3; Jn 1; Ac 1; Ac 11. That is the baptism Paul always described, the spiritual one baptism we must spiritually drink according to 1Co 12:12-13 and Eph 4:4-7 also described in Mt 20; Mt 28:18-20; Mk 10; Mk 16; Lk 11-13; Lk 24; Jn 1-17; etc. In Ac 11, what did the believing Jews learn about salvation for non-Jews? Did they remember Mk 1:14-15? Also, read Ac 15 and Ac 18:24-19:10, very carefully. In Mt 28:19 we read about the Name. Read Rev 19. His Name is The Word of God. Jesus Christ said we must seek first God's Kingdom and God's Righteousness and this is what Paul and all of the other NT writers taught, Mt 6:33; Lk 11-12; Ro 1:16-21; etc. What we find can rescue us from the Law of Sin and Death, Ro 1-8. |

15 | Does baptism show we're a follower? | Matt 28:19 | canawedding | 193874
Mk 1:14. Now after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of God, 15. and saying, "The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent ye and believe in the Gospel." [After John was delivered up!] Mt 4: 12. Now when He heard that John was delivered up, He withdrew into Galilee ... 17. From that time began Jesus to preach and to say, "Repent ye! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!" [Listen to Him!] Jn 3: 23. And John also was baptizing in Enon near to Salim because there was much water there and they came and were baptized. 24. For John was not yet cast into prison. [FOR JOHN WAS NOT YET CAST INTO PRISON. I truly hope you will begin to read these critical Scriptures much more carefully.] Ac 10:37: ... that saying ye yourselves know, which was published throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached ... [AFTER THE BAPTISM THAT JOHN PREACHED!] Ac 11:16. And I remembered the Word of the Lord, how He said, 'John indeed baptized with water but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit." 17. If then God gave unto them the like Gift as He did also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God? ["Withstand" means OPPOSE!] Ac 13:25: 25. And as John was fulfilling his course, he said, "What suppose ye that I am? I am not He. But behold, there cometh One after me the shoes of whose feet I am not worthy to unloose." Ac 19:4. And Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on Him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus." 5. And when they heard this, they were baptized into the Name of the Lord Jesus. 6. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spake with tongues and prophesied. [The 3000 in Ac 2 and Saul/Paul in Ac 9; Ac 22; Ac 26, all were saved when they called on the Name of the Lord and some also had hands laid on them. Can you explain in a sentence or two how calling on the Name of the Lord saves us and what actually takes place when we call on the Name of the Lord to be saved? I am not asking because i do not know.] When Jesus Christ healed people during His earthly Ministry, people who could not even walk, they were not baptized with physical water at all. When Jesus Christ sent out His disciples, two by two, there was no possibility for any physical water baptisms to take place in His very detailed instructions because there is only the one baptism now of Eph 4:4-7, the one baptism of the One Spirit that we must spiritually drink, Jn 7:37-39; 1Co 12:13-14. I will repeat: There were no physical water baptisms by Jesus Christ's disciples during His earthly Ministry and Ac 8; Ac 10-11 can also be easily explained again for those who want to know, anne |

16 | Does baptism show we're a follower? | Matt 28:19 | canawedding | 193877
Hello Cheri, They had The Word of God who is written on the hearts and in the minds of all true Christians, true Christians who have "the Mind of Christ", the anointing from the Holy One of God, who know what the critical Teaching of Jesus Christ was when He began His Ministry, 1Co 2; 1Jn 2. They remembered what He said in Mk 1:14-15, something He continues to tell everyone who wants to be truly saved. Rev 19:13. And He is arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood and His Name is called "The Word of God". Ro 10:8. But what saith it (Dt 30:14)? "The Word is nigh thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart," that is, the Word of faith, which we preach 9. because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto Righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [Is this the Righteousness we must find first according to Mt 6:33? Yes, it is. What, exactly, must we find first? And, if Peter, Paul and the others had to have Jesus Christ revealed to them, why do people think that He does not need to be revealed to them today? He does need to be. And, it seems to me that no one was ever to keep quiet regarding the Word of God in Spirit and in Truth, not in the OT or the NT.] As far as causing "the uproar"; it was much more than that. Jesus Christ exposed their evil deeds and He said His true disciples would continue to do the same and be persecuted for it. They didn't like hearing that they were hypocrites, snakes, vipers, who washed the outside while leaving the inside full of greed and wickedness and they didn't like being called white-washed tombs full of dead mens' bones; etc. They made money off of dead traditions of the flesh without changing hearts and minds. Mt 28:18-20 is a summary of Jn 13-17; Jn 20. Use a concordance and see how the Name is used in the NT, especially in the Gospel of John. The Peshitta translation has an interesting addition to Mt 28:18 that we usually only find in Jn 20 and that is: "... as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you." Where did the Father send His Son to baptize with physical water? I am not asking because i do not know, anne |

18 | Does baptism show we're a follower? | Matt 28:19 | canawedding | 193948
There were no physical water baptisms by Jesus Christ's disciples after John the Baptist went to prison during Jesus Christ's entire Ministry on this Earth while He was in His sinless human flesh. The Scriptures i have already quoted overwhelmingly prove that Biblical fact and here are more. The Scriptures are very clear but if you do not want to see, then you won't, Jn 9. Ro 3:19. Now we know that what things soever the Law saith; it speaketh to them that are under the Law, that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be brought under the Judgment of God 20. because by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified in His sight for through the Law cometh the knowledge of sin. 21. But now apart from the Law a Righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets [Does this include John the Baptist? Yes, it does.] 22. even the Righteousness of God through Faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe, for there is no distinction ... [Is this about Mt 6:33; Mk 1:14-15; Ro 1:16-21; etc? Yes, it is!] Lk 16:15. And He said unto them, "Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men but God knoweth your hearts, for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God. 16. The Law and the Prophets were until John. From that time the Gospel of the Kingdom of God is preached and every man entereth violently into it. 17. But it is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away, than for one tittle of the Law to fall. 18. Everyone, that putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth adultery and he that marrieth one that is put away from a husband committeth adultery." Ro 7: 1. Or are ye ignorant, brethren (for I speak to men who know the Law), that the Law hath dominion over a man for so long time as he liveth? 2. For the woman that hath a husband is bound by Law to the husband while he liveth but if the husband die, she is discharged from the Law of the husband. 3. So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress but if the husband die, she is free from the Law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man. 4. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also were made dead to the Law through the body of Christ, that ye should be joined to Another, even to Him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit unto God. 5. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the Law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6. But now we have been discharged from the Law, having died to that wherein we were held, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter. [Only those who "serve in the newness of the Spirit" belong to the saving Law of the Spirit of Life and they belong to that Law after beginning at Mt 6:33. What, exactly, did you find first? Jesus Christ expects us to first find something very specific but it is in plain sight.] anne |

19 | Does baptism show we're a follower? | Matt 28:19 | canawedding | 193952
Did you read Jn 3:24? I will spell it out for you: 24. For John was not yet cast into prison. All true Christians will have the very same "Mind of Christ" since we all have the one and only anointing from the Holy One of God that the apostle John described so well in 1Jn 2. What he described there is the very same baptism Paul always described in Scriptures such as 1Co 12:12-13; Eph 4:4-7. And, here is another perfect description of that same anointing in 1Jn 2: 1Co 1:30. But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us Wisdom from God and Righteousness and Sanctification and Redemption, 31. that, according as it is written, 'He that glorieth, let him Glory in the Lord!' 1Co 2:14. Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him and he cannot know them because they are spiritually judged. 15. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things and he himself is judged of no man. 16. For who hath known the Mind of the Lord, that he should instruct Him? But we have the Mind of Christ! |

20 | Explain Mark 11 | Mark 11:1 | canawedding | 194016
Jesus Christ's glorious entry into Jerusalem was the fulfilment of OT prophecies, Ps 118; Zec 9:9. The fig tree symbolized Judaism with its Law of Sin and Death. What took place in the temple cleansing symbolizes what is to come for very similar reasons, also prophesied in Isa 66. At the future temple cleansing there will very likely be those who will question why they are in the goat line, Mt 25. It is very possible that they will also hear the same question about John the Baptist, Mk 11:27-33. Very few people have paid attention to what John the Baptist said and what took place during his ministry. He came to testify of that Light in Ps 118. Jn 1:6. There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John. 7. The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the Light, that all might believe through him. 8. He was not the Light but came that he might bear witness of the Light. 9. There was the True Light, even the Light which lighteth every man, coming into the world. 10. He was in the world and the world was made through Him and the world knew Him not. 11. He came unto His own and they that were His own received Him not. 12. But as many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become Children of God, even to them that believe on His Name 13. who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man but of God. Read what Peter wrote in 1Pe 2:1-8 where he quoted from Ps 118 and Isa 28 for a very good reason. |
