Bible Note: Hello Cheri, They had The Word of God who is written on the hearts and in the minds of all true Christians, true Christians who have "the Mind of Christ", the anointing from the Holy One of God, who know what the critical Teaching of Jesus Christ was when He began His Ministry, 1Co 2; 1Jn 2. They remembered what He said in Mk 1:14-15, something He continues to tell everyone who wants to be truly saved. Rev 19:13. And He is arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood and His Name is called "The Word of God". Ro 10:8. But what saith it (Dt 30:14)? "The Word is nigh thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart," that is, the Word of faith, which we preach 9. because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto Righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [Is this the Righteousness we must find first according to Mt 6:33? Yes, it is. What, exactly, must we find first? And, if Peter, Paul and the others had to have Jesus Christ revealed to them, why do people think that He does not need to be revealed to them today? He does need to be. And, it seems to me that no one was ever to keep quiet regarding the Word of God in Spirit and in Truth, not in the OT or the NT.] As far as causing "the uproar"; it was much more than that. Jesus Christ exposed their evil deeds and He said His true disciples would continue to do the same and be persecuted for it. They didn't like hearing that they were hypocrites, snakes, vipers, who washed the outside while leaving the inside full of greed and wickedness and they didn't like being called white-washed tombs full of dead mens' bones; etc. They made money off of dead traditions of the flesh without changing hearts and minds. Mt 28:18-20 is a summary of Jn 13-17; Jn 20. Use a concordance and see how the Name is used in the NT, especially in the Gospel of John. The Peshitta translation has an interesting addition to Mt 28:18 that we usually only find in Jn 20 and that is: "... as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you." Where did the Father send His Son to baptize with physical water? I am not asking because i do not know, anne |
