1 | Like a thief to who? | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 14638
Greetings, To answer your question as stated, the answer is no. Christ will not come as a thief in the night for the believers. They are waiting, praying, and looking forward for that day to come. They are expecting His return. The unbelievers could care less, they are not watching, therefore to them, Christ does comes as a thief in the night. 1 Thessolonians 5 1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. |

2 | What is the best version of the Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 17735
Grace and Peace to All the Saints, I was asked this question and I have seen many responses. Here is my answer. Respectfully: What version of the word of God, will the blind read? What version of the word of God, will the deaf hear? It is written, “My sheep, hear My voice.” God speaks to man by His Spirit. Christ speaks to man by His Spirit. The Spirit of God speaks to man by His Spirit. The Spirit gives life. Christ is the Life. Christ is the Truth. Christ is the Word. His Word is Truth, His Word is Life, His Word is Spirit. His words are Spirit, Truth, and Life. The man without the Spirit of Christ, cannot understand the word of God, for His words are Spirit. The natural man doesn't feel the conviction of the Spirit of God upon his heart or within his mind. He doesn't understand the love of God or the grace of God or the Holiness of God. He doesn't believe in Jesus Christ any more than he believes in any other person in the bible who might have lived. And he doesn't understand the Word of God: the Bible is a mystery to him. Paul said, that the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit, for they are foolishness to him. It is written, that "the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness." (I Cor. 1:18) That is why you must be born again, born of the Spirit, His Holy Spirit. It is God who gives life to the dead. For man is dead in his sins and transgressions. Without the Spirit of Christ in you, you are dead. Where is eternal life? In Christ Jesus. How do we receive this eternal life in Christ? By faith in Christ. Even this faith in Christ, is given to us by Christ Himself. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith in Him. You must be born again, born of the Spirit, in order to hear and understand His words. God reveals His words to us according to His will and perfect timing, not ours. Christ is Faithful and True. Christ is the sure Foundation of His Holy Temple, His Holy Body, His Holy Church, His Holy Bride. The just, the righteous, will walk and live by faith in Christ Jesus, the living God. I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. (John 3) We are a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)…Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. Christ is in us, and we are in Christ. Galations 4:6…Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:9…You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Colossians 1:27…To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We are in Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:30…It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. In Christ we are Forgiven of All sins of the flesh (Eph. 4:32); We have been Sanctified, Washed, and Justified (1Cor. 6:11); We have been made Complete in Christ (Col. 2:10); Christ Saved us and made us Alive (Eph. 2:5); We are Lights to the world (Matt. 5:14); We have been made Holy (Heb. 10:10); We are seated with Christ (Eph. 2:6); We are Sons of God. We are heirs of God (Gal. 4:7); We are the Temple of God (1Cor.3:16); We are His Body (Col. 1:24); We have been Cleansed of all Unrighteousness (1 John 1:9); We are the Righteousness of God (2Cor.5:21); We are Blessed with Every Spiritual Blessing (Eph. 1:3); We are those who Overcome satan (Rev. 12:11); We are more than Conquerors (Rom. 8:37); We are a Chosen Race and a Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9); We are partakers of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4); We have been give Eternal Life (1 John 5:13); We have been made Perfect (Heb. 10:14); We are a New Creation (2 Cor. 5:17) We are complete in Christ. He is our God. He is our robe of righteousness, our covering, our wedding garment. Christ is our great God and Savior. He has put His seal (mark) on us. We are owned by Him, we have been bought with a price, His blood. It is Finished! Enter into His rest! Grow in His grace and knowledge. Love others just as Christ loves you. Totally and Completely! P.S. What version did Abel, or Enoch, or Noah, or Abraham, or Isaac, or Jacob, or Joseph, or Moses read? YBIC |

3 | What is the best version of the Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 17749
Hi EdB, The point I was trying to make was, that without the Spirit of God giving you the faith to believe His words, it wouldn't matter how many versions, how many languages, nor how many words He spoke, no one would believe. That is the inheritance we all received from Adam, when he believed the father of lies, and refused to believe God and called Him a liar. That is the sin that was passed on to all of us, unbelief. The only way we can believe God's words is by God giving us the faith to believe. It is all God's work of salvation, none of ours. |

4 | Body/soul/spirit? | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 18299
Body/Soul/Spirit Part 2 Gen.3:4,5…satan in the form of a serpent, tempted Eve by saying, “You will not surely die… For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Adam and Eve then both took from the tree and ate, becoming their own gods. Self-appointed judges of good and evil, and beginning the entire human history of sin (unbelief in what God said), suffering and death. It is very important that we understand the meaning of their sin and the results of their choice, because it is foundational to the entire Bible, and to our understanding of the need for salvation. While man stands apart from the rest of God’s creatures, being uniquely created in His image, there is also an infinite gulf between man and God. Only God is truly independent. He needs nothing, and no one, being totally self-sufficient. Man, on the other hand, is a totally dependent creature. We are dependent upon food, air, water, etc. for our physical life (body); we are dependent upon the world around us and other people for our soulish well-being; and we are dependent upon God for our spiritual life. We were created dependent upon God for our spiritual needs of unconditional love and acceptance, and meaning and purpose in life. But because of the fall, man is unable to discern the difference between soul and spirit. As a result, man has turned to the world to meet his spiritual needs. For example, many people get married in hopes of finding unconditional love and acceptance, not realizing, that is a spiritual need that can only be met by a Spiritual Being, Jesus Christ. Man is dependent. God is independent. I believe a possible meaning of the temptation presented to Adam and Eve lies in the serpent’s phrase “in the day that you eat of from it…you will be like God.” They were offered the chance (so they may have thought) to step outside of their dependent (faith) relationship with God, and to assume an independent status…to be their own gods, to be self-sufficient, to know good and evil. Therefore, from God’s point of view, the problem of mankind is not just that we are sinners that need forgiveness; He sees a world of spiritually dead people that need life. And our Holy Father has provided the perfect solution to both of our needs, through faith in Him, Jesus Christ |

5 | Body/soul/spirit? | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 18300
Body/Soul/Spirit Part 1 In Gen.1:27 we are told "God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." This is a very familiar verse to most people, but let's stop and think about what it means. The Bible teaches that God is a Spirit, without a body or physical form. Therefore in the verse just quoted, God is not saying that we physically look like Him. All created life forms have a body: that is a physical form that grows, feeds, breathes, and reproduces. What is it that separates man and the animal kingdom from the plant kingdom? Man and animals have what the Bible calls a soul. The simplest definition of a soul is mind, emotions, and will. It may seem strange at first to think of animals as having souls, but consider a dog. Does a dog have a mind, emotions, and a will? Of course he does, and you can tell what is going on in the dog's soul by watching his body. If he comes up to you directly with tail wagging, and his tongue hanging out, you would think the dog is safe and likes you. But if he cowers back, tail between his legs, and is growling, you would keep your distance. The animal kingdom does therefore have a soul. Conscious life expressed through intellect, emotions, and will. Of course, it is understood that man has an eternal soul, while an animal has only a temporal soul. The question then must be asked, “In what way, then, is man more than an animal? The answer is first hinted at in Genesis 2:7, where we are given a more detailed account of mans creation: "The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being." Unlike all other forms of life that God created by speaking the Word, here He is shown imparting of His own life to man. This is the aspect known as the spirit. The human spirit is the part of man that enables him to relate to, and to know God, and is the source of his inner drives for love, acceptance, and meaning and purpose in life. The human spirit was created to be dependent upon and united with God's Spirit, and was the means through which man was intended to enjoy perfect fellowship with his Creator, Jesus Christ. The human spirit in man is what makes the difference between man and the animal kingdom. Have you ever seen an animal, such as a dog sitting with a thoughtful look on his face asking, “Why am I here? What does all this mean?” Do you see him in depression, pushing his bone aside and complaining, “There must be more to life than this?” Absolutely not, how ridiculous. But there is nothing more human, than the asking of these questions. Sometime in the life of every human being they begin to ask, “Why am I here? Who am I? What is the meaning of life?” That is the working of the human spirit. We have all heard the word “instinct” and know that it refers to the animal kingdom. What instinct means is that there is built into the animal kingdom something like a computer program, which compels them to act in a certain way. Animals do not make a moral choice to do what they do by obedience. They do it because they must. Animals do not have the ability to choose good or evil. God wants His relationship with man to be a love relationship. Received and expressed back to Him by the working of faith. In the Garden of Eden that God created for Adam and Eve, He placed two trees, the tree of life, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They were given total freedom to eat of any tree in the Garden, except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God had said, “You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die” (Genesis 2:17). Only God ultimately knows the difference between good and evil. As an act of love, God was showing Adam and Eve, that dependence upon Him through the tree of life, was the only way they could experience abundant life, as He intended man to have. He was also protecting them from the choice to become their own god, which is the reason, that satan fell earlier, resulting in our spiritual death. |

6 | How do you "honor" lying parents? | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 39342
May you find strength and encouragement in these words dear one. 1 Pet 3:9 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. 10 For,"The one who desires life, to love and see good days, must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. 11 "He must turn away from evil and do good; He must seek peace and pursue it. 1 Pet 3:12 "FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL." 13 Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are (SLANDERED), those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. 17 For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. 1 Thess 5:15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. |

7 | I HAVE A QUESTION REGARDING THE SABBATH | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 40001
Grace and Peace to All His Holy Saints, In regards to which "Day" is the Sabbath. Ex 16:14 When the layer of dew evaporated, behold, on the surface of the wilderness there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the frost on the ground. 15 When the sons of Israel saw it, they said to one another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, "It is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat. 16 "This is what the LORD has commanded, 'Gather of it every man as much as he should eat; you shall take an omer apiece according to the number of persons each of you has in his tent.'" 17 The sons of Israel did so, and some gathered much and some little. 18 When they measured it with an omer, he who had gathered much had no excess, and he who had gathered little had no lack; every man gathered as much as he should eat. 19 Moses said to them, "Let no man leave any of it until morning." 20 But they did not listen to Moses, and some left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and became foul; and Moses was angry with them. 21 They gathered it morning by morning, every man as much as he should eat; but when the sun grew hot, it would melt. 22 Now on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. When all the leaders of the congregation came and told Moses, 23 then he said to them, "This is what the LORD meant: Tomorrow is a sabbath observance, a holy sabbath to the LORD. Bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over put aside to be kept until morning." 24 So they put it aside until morning, as Moses had ordered, and it did not become foul nor was there any worm in it. 25 Moses said, "Eat it today, for today is a sabbath to the LORD; today you will not find it in the field. 26 "Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the sabbath, there will be none." 27 It came about on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, but they found none. 28 Then the LORD said to Moses, "How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My instructions? 29 "See, the LORD has given you the sabbath; therefore He gives you bread for two days on the sixth day. Remain every man in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day." 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. 31 The house of Israel named it manna, and it was like coriander seed, white, and its taste was like wafers with honey. 32 Then Moses said, "This is what the LORD has commanded, 'Let an omerful of it be kept throughout your generations, that they may see the bread that I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.'" 33 Moses said to Aaron, "Take a jar and put an omerful of manna in it, and place it before the LORD to be kept throughout your generations." 34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before the Testimony, to be kept. 35 The sons of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate the manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan. If you had manna to eat for forty years and had to gather twice as much on the sixth day, I'm sure you would know which was the 7th day, the day of rest, the Sabbath. Saturday, the day the Jews continue to observe to this very day. In regards to Who is are Sabbath, Jesus Christ. There is a Sabbath Rest that remains for us. Heb 4:1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS"; 5 and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST." 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. Hope this answers your question. YBIC Joe |

8 | hwat does righteousness of GOD means | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 41407
Christ our Righteousness! The Righteousness of God Salvation requires that we be totally righteous (meaning to be holy, without blemish, and free from accusation). Jesus said in Matthew 5:48, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Only perfect righteousness will do. Since this is an impossibility for man, God in His mercy and love chose to make us righteous through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, The Righteous One. The righteousness of God that has been given through Jesus Christ is a free gift that comes by faith in Christ. By His perfect work on the cross, He has exchanged our unrighteousness for His perfect righteousness. We read in Romans 3:21,22...But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. God’s word tells us, that true righteousness comes from God through faith in Jesus. It also tells us that righteousness does not come by observing the law, but by faith to all who believe. We read in 2 Corinthians 5:21...God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. Christ the sinless One, became sin for us. How many sins do you think Christ took? Because of this exchange, what do we become? Whose righteousness do we become? If we have become the righteousness of God, how righteous are we? However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. (Romans 4:5) Who does God justify? Is a man justified by works, or trusting God? What is credited to those who believe? If we could gain righteousness by our own good works, whose righteousness would it be? Whose righteousness is it when we believe God? What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. (Philippians 3:8,9) What kind of righteousness does obedience to the law produce? What kind of righteousness does faith in Christ produce? Whose righteousness would you rather have, your own or God’s? There is only one way to receive the righteousness of God, through faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross. If Christ dwells in you, you have the Righteous One in you. Not only that, we are clothed with His righteousness. Galatians 3:27...For all you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. He is our Robe of Righteousness, Christ is our Breastplate of Righteousness, Christ is our Wedding Garment, He is our Covering. Christ is our righteousness that clothes us and indwells us. Because it is God’s righteousness, it is not subject to corruption. It is not something that we can improve upon or add to or use up; neither can we be the cause of its erosion or destruction by our own doing. It is God’s (GIFT) to us through faith in Jesus Christ! I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (Romans 1:16,17) Joe |

9 | Did Mary have to be saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | Risen | 48061
Grace and Peace to you Mommapbs, inmyheart, and All other Forum Members, In Romans chapter 3 verse 23, it is written, that "all" have sinned and come short of the glory of God. All, even in the Greek, includes Mary, the mother of Jesus, and every other woman, man, and child. Romans 3: 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. 19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the Justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. And may I add a word of encouragement to all. 1 Pet.1: 8 Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. May the peace and joy and love of God our Father, fill your heart, mind, soul, and spirit! Keep Looking Up! YBIC Joe |

12 | Is the Christian under Law? | Ex 1:1 | Risen | 12888
Dear Bill Mc, Absolute truth brother! We are under His new covenant. We receive His righteousness by faith! In Him,(Christ), we have been made holy, righteous, blameless and perfect. In Him we have eternal life, we are complete in Him. We are no longer under the law. When the Bible says that we aren't under the law any more, it doesn't mean that we are left without standards. We are actually under a higher standard, called in the Scripture "the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2) and "the law of liberty" (James 1:25 NASB). Under grace, God says to us throught the apostle Paul: You my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command; "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Galatians 5:13,14). This is our standard, and it is indeed a higher standard than outward conformity to rules. Romans 13:10 sums it up: "Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.: It was Christ who said in Matthew 5:17... "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" (Matthew 5:17). And He did fulfill the law; not by what He...did not do, but by what He... did do - He lived a life of perfect love. He laid His life down for us while we were His enemies, while we were still dead in our sins. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "All men will know you that are My disciples if you love one another...(John 13:35) Love fullfills all the law. Let us love, accept, and forgive one another. Just as Christ loves, accepts, and has forgiven us...totally and completely! Let us remember, as this world grows darker and darker, we who are indwelt by the living resurrected God and Savior Jesus Christ, will shine brighter and brighter. Now we see in part, but when He returns, we shall be like Him! Your Brother In Christ |

13 | Is the Christian under Law? | Ex 1:1 | Risen | 12934
Dear Brothers and Sisters I thank God our Father for the opportunity to be able to post my comments on this forum, and I pray that those who read this may be encouraged, strengthened, and/or have their eyes of understanding enlightened. I write these words with a spirit of love and meekness.I have followed the comments of many threads in this forum and other sites. I see many are knowledgeable about the scriptures, I see plenty of arguing, and contentions over different doctrines. I see where new babes in Christ can be overwhelmed, frustrated, confused, or put in doubt of their faith. Those of us who have been born again, born of the Spirit, and have grown in His grace and knowledge, who walk in the Spirit, in faith, in our great God and Savior, know the importance of loving one another. Being patient with one another, being kind and compassionate, forgiving one another, just as Christ has forgiven us of all our sins, once and for all. As fellow laborers with God, we who have grown in Him, who are rooted and grounded in Christ's love, let us not be high minded, proud, worldly, wise in our own eyes, for we see in part. As it is written: neither he who plants the seed, nor he who waters is anything, but it is God who makes it grow! If Christ lives in us, we have His Spirit that will guide us and teach us all truth, in His perfect timing, according to His will, not ours. We know Christ Jesus is the Truth, the way and the life. We are to keep our mind and heart focused on Him, and not on how much we know or don't know. Remember, God is doing His good work through us. God is building His Church, through us who have His Spirit. That is His power, the preaching of the cross, the fullness of His gospel. Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Who here has been drawn to Christ by his own knowledge and understanding? Who here has been drawn to Christ, by the Father's rod or whip or with rude and harsh words? Was it not by His love and gentle Spirit? Did we receive Christ's Spirit by works of righteousness, keeping the whole law or parts of it? Or, did we receive His righteousness by faith? Beloved, we have the mind of Christ, we have all spiritual blessings in Christ, and we are seated with Him. We have been made holy, righteous, blameless, and perfect in Christ. We are complete in Him! How can we add to or take away from that which He has already made perfect? Each new creation in Christ Jesus, each member, each precious stone tried by fire, is built upon the solid Rock, the perfect foundation, Jesus Christ. Many newborns in Christ and unbelievers enter Christian web sites, and what do they see? Quarrelings, divisions, strife and confusion. The same that is in the world. Yes, even deception. Is Christ divided? No, we are all members one of another, if Christ lives in you. When questions are asked, we need to answer in love and gentleness, to be patient towards all people, and to remember, it is God who will open their eyes and ears and give understanding. Let us lift Christ up, and He will draw all men unto Himself. Let us remember that God has made peace with us, therefore let us be at peace with Him and others. Love cannot be perfected in fear, but perfect love casts out fear. We did not receive a spirit of fear, but of love, in Him. He loves us perfectly. God is always patient with you. God is always kind to you. God does not envy, He does not boast, He is not proud. God is not rude to you, He is not self seeking, He is never easily angered with you. God keeps no record of your wrongs. God does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. He always protects you, always trusts you, always hopes the best for you, always perseveres with you. God's love never fails. All men will know we are His disciples, if we love one another. John 13:34...A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. Romans 15:7...Accept one another then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Ephesians 4:32...Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you. How are we in the body of Christ to love, accept, and forgive one another? Just as God in Christ has loved, accepted, and forgiven us. Whether we realize it or not, we will treat other people with the same measure of love, acceptance, and forgiveness that we, rightly or wrongly, think we are receiving from God. We will never love one another with a greater love, than what we think we are receiving from God. May you be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God, and to know this love and grace that is in Christ Jesus that surpasses all knowledge. May He fill you with His peace and joy and love! Your Brother in Christ |

14 | How do we become Holy? | Ps 119:11 | Risen | 40203
Grace and Peace to All His Holy Saints, How do we become Holy? By the completed work of Christ on the cross. We read in Acts 26:18...to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to Light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been "sanctified" by faith in Me. To be "sanctified" means to be set apart or to be made "holy". As a child of God, you have been made "holy" by the blood of Jesus Christ. Holiness is not something we can attain by our own good works, it is by His Good works. Holiness is a free gift, just like salvation, that is given to all who put their faith in Christ Jesus. Knowing we have been "sanctified" once and for all frees us from constantly having to keep our eyes on the way we are behaving. It causes us to look to Christ and what He accomplished and what He is doing in and through us. Colossians 1:22...But now He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you "holy" in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation. Hebrews 10:10...And by that will, we have been made "holy" through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all. The blood of the new covenant that He shed for us on the cross. That went into effect by the death of the One who made it. The better covenant, by which we draw near to God. Hebrews 2:11...Both the One who makes men "holy" and those who are made "holy" are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers. Acts 20:32 "And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are "sanctified". 1 Cor 1:2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been "sanctified" in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours: 1 Cor 6:11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were "sanctified", but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Cor 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is "sanctified" through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is "sanctified" through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are "holy". Eph 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might "sanctify" her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be "holy" and blameless. Heb 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are "sanctified". Heb 10:29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was "sanctified", and has insulted the Spirit of grace? The Holiness of God is a free gift that has been given to all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We are sanctified by our faith in Him, not by our works. If it were then it would not be His gift, or His Grace. It is all His Good Work. YBIC Joe |

15 | What was the blessing? | Matt 26:26 | Risen | 40681
In Matthew 26:26 KJV where it says "And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said Take, eat; this is my body." Question, what did Jesus say when He blessed the bread? |

16 | What was the blessing? | Matt 26:26 | Risen | 40737
Thank you Hank, That's how I saw it too, until I learned from a Jewish believer in the Messiah that the blessing practiced before the Passover meal, is a standard prayer which has been said over the bread every Seder for thousands of years. The blessing is: "Blessed art Thou, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth" There is a prophetic connection between the blessing and what Jesus was saying regarding "take, eat, this is my body." God has been bringing forth bread from the earth since the beginning of creation, and this bread, as He just told us, represents His body. God will bring His body forth from the earth! In effect, Jesus foretold His resurrection in that blessing over the bread! Just as He foretold His resurrection at other times prior to the supper. Christ is, the Bread of Life. When we partake of the Bread of Life, the communion for example, as a rememberence, where is that bread now? It is in us. It is a visual aid that we are the body of Christ. Christ in you, the hope of glory. 1 Cor.10:16-17...The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread and one body: for we are all partakers of that One Bread. Christ is that Bread that came down from Heaven, He is that Bread of Life that came forth from the earth. He is the Bread of Life that dwells in all those that have been born again, born of the Spirit. Can you see it? We have become the body of Christ here on earth. Christ is the Head. "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."...1 Cor.12:27 Having said that, we should look forward to each time that we can participate in the Lord's Supper. When its true meaning is celebrated while breaking off a portion of the bread and eating it with other believers, we should be reminded of Christ and His life we share as symbolized by the one loaf. It is a beautiful picture of God's plan of unification in Love and in Spirit, to make one body, or one new man, out of both Jew and Gentile. It is a celebration of what Christ has done and the "Unity" we share in Him. I felt that this was an appropriate time, for these words to be shared, to help build up and edify the body of Christ. For He is Risen, and He is alive, through the Spirit in each one of us, His body, His church, His bride! YBIC...Joe P.S. Hank...Keep up the good work that God has given you with the "Bible Answer Man" with a patient and loving heart, that comes from Him who dwells in you. |

17 | What does it mean to believe. . . ? | John 3:16 | Risen | 10457
Grace and Peace to All For a person to believe in Jesus, the Father must draw that individual to Christ. For it is written no man can come to the Father, except through Christ and no man can come to Christ except the Father draws him. Christ is the gate, the door, the way, the truth, the life. God can draw anyone whom He wills to Christ, for nothing is impossible for God. It is God who does the calling, drawing or leading of a person to the only way to salvation. It is God who gives a person the faith to believe in the completed work on the cross and the reality of His resurrection. We read that faith is a fruit of the Spirit. In order for a person to bear this fruit that person has to be indwelt by the Spirit. For Jesus said, that He is the vine, we are the branches, apart from Me you can do nothing. Without the working of the Holy Spirit there is no fruit produced by self effort. The branch (believers) bear the fruit, the vine (God) produces it. Again it is God who gives us the faith to believe, He is doing the work. It is written that no one is righteous, no not one, there is none who seeks after God. Once again it is God who does the work of drawing and gives us the faith to believe in Christ, the only way to life. Without the Spirit, we are dead in our sins and transgressions, we can't hear, we can't see or understand the the words of the Spirit. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and that person cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. So without the Spirit we are dead. What does a dead person need? Life. Where is this life found? In Christ Jesus who is alive, raised from the dead, indwelling all His saints, all of His church, all of His body. We are all members one of another, if Christ be in you. How? Through faith, a fruit that He produces in us. Faithful is He that began the good work in you, and faithful is He that will finish it. As a child of the living God, co-heirs with Christ, ambassadors of reconciliation, forgiven saints, born again of the Spirit, lets remember: One may plant the seed, and another may water it, but it is God who gives it life. Again, God does the work and God will receive all the praise and glory for His wonderful work of salvation. Thank you Father for giving us your life, eternal life, through faith in Jesus Christ, the only one born alive, your only begotten Son, the Righteous One, who laid down His life for us , so that He could give His life to us, so that He could live His life through us. Peace unto you all. Your Brother in Christ |

18 | Once Save; Always Saved? | John 6:37 | Risen | 15039
Welcome J.D. Our faith, assurance, and life is in the resurrected, living, Holy, great God and Savior, Jesus Christ! Our security is in the One who has Eternal Life to give, Jesus Christ! I hope the following verses will lift up, build up and will keep us looking up. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do My will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last Day. For My Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:37-40) I believe God. His words here tell me that Christ will not reject a person who believes in Him. To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God - children not born of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John :12,13) Born again, born of the Spirit, a new creation in Christ, by faith in Him, according to His will, by His grace. I believe God. Whoever believes in Christ, He will not reject, whoever receives Christ has been born of God, and He will not lose anyone that is given to Him. Hebrews 10:14...By one sacrifice He has made perfect forever, those who are being made holy. Notice He didn't say those who are making themselves holy. Christ makes you holy. How? Because He dwells, lives, abides in you, and He is Holy. Because you are born of God, born of the Spirit. In addition to being totally forgiven, the child of God has inherited an awesome position before God that is as Permanent and Secure as his salvation! The Word of God clearly testifies to the Christian's inheritance. Totally Forgiven: Colossians 2:13,14..."When you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us (All) our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross." Reconciled to God: Romans 5:10...If, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! Justified: Romans 3:23,24...All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Saved by Grace: Ephesians 2:8,9...It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Peace with God: Romans 5:1...Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. There are more. To sum it up Romans 8:38,39...I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. YBIC P.S. Did you notice in the first verse Christ will raise us up at the last day. He said it twice. Food for thought. |

Peace to All in His Glorious Name The Name above all names, Jesus the Christ Exodus 6:6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: Deut. 7:19 The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid. 20 | What does "THE ARM OF THE LORD" mean? | John 12:38 | Risen | 39291
You are quite welcome Magdala, It was no trouble at all, for I know that...It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter...Proverbs 25:2 For by the searching of the Word of God, and seeking to know the One who is True (Jesus Christ the Truth), we will find the One, or shall I say, He will find us, who were lost. For it is Christ who meets all our needs. The more we are nourished by the Living Water (Jesus Christ), the more we grow in His grace and knowledge. For He has sown the Seed (the Word of God) in our heart. He also waters the Seed with His Word (the Living Water, Jesus Christ) in our heart. He also shines the Light of Life (Jesus Christ, the Living Word) in our heart to produce His fruit, in us, by His Spirit. That is to say, the Spirit of Life, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Christ. For Christ is the Life and the Truth, and His Words are Spirit, Life, and Truth. May His Peace and Joy and Love, fill your whole heart, and also, all His beloved saints. YBIC...Your Brother in Christ Joe...yep, another Joe |
