1 | Sins Forgiven | Col 2:13 | romans11:19 | 168631
The bible does say if we don't forgive we will not be forgiven. The bible is an instruction book on how to live our life. Each of us as an individual learns different lessons. We are all rebellious in not listening to God's instructions and we are all to die because of it. God in His great love and mercy sent His Son so we would not die but through Him have eternal life. I never said we didn't need a saviour, my logic is to believe in God, to listen and do His commandments and to listen to the Holy Spirit to guide me into all truths. As far as sincerity goes God does examine our hearts for sincerity, many speak with their lips but their hearts are far from Him. Without God teaching us we wouldn't even know what a sin beyond the obvious is. If I continue to ask God for forgiveness and I have faith that I'm forgiven I continue to trust in Him. Are we to confess our sins only to repeat that sin because we have been forgiven? If we are sincere we ask God for forgiveness and stop doing the sin we are confessing. We are to examine ourself and work out our own salvation with trembling and fear and my way may not be your way.Luke 18:10-14
2 | Sins Forgiven | Col 2:13 | romans11:19 | 168618
Hello CDBJ, I believe by asking God for forgiveness I am acknowledging Him as the only way to receive it. Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Is this not asking Him for forgiveness? I think that some who confess their sin are not sincere. When we offend someone don't we ask, if we are sincere, to forgive us? So why would we not ask God the same thing? There must be more to be learned by confessing our sin lest we repeat it again. We must completely understand it in order to overcome it. Why then if I have confessed a sin and been forgiven it would I later be convicted so deeply of the seriousness of that sin? I believe that God is teaching me something greater and He leads me into a deeper understanding. Matthew 6:15 But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. So how can we assume that by confessing our sin and if we have not forgiven someone that we can be forgiven? We can't, so I say confess and ask for forgiveness and if there is something I need to do then God shows me what I may refuse to see. God bless. |
