Yes! and Prophecy in general This is just one example of the many midrash, as the Jewish people call it that I have been having with my Pastor over the issue of teaching prophecy. In short it all got started when I presented an idea for teaching Prophecy to the children ministry. I wanted to donate some teaching material from the David Reagan’s ministry. Lamb and Lyons ministry. He had written an excellent children’s book entitled the second coming of Christ. This was rejected by my Pastor and this is what has lead to our corresponding on this whole issue. I would greatly appreciate you input I feel that I’m all alone and frankly I’m running out of material to defend my position. Some else’s view point my be of great help. Tony |

3 | Animals in the New Testament? | Prov 12:12 | gkidder | 187613
We seem to be obsessed with doing what God has commanded us to do. And the most important of these commandments is to love God with all your heart, mind, and spirit. And to love one another as well. I am not obsessed, but have the passion and desire to please God, period! I think God gave me a compassionate heart when it comes to the care of an animal. And the care of a child, and the care of an elderly person, and the care of a fellow Christian who is in need of counseling or friendship. I care for people who suffer physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I find it troubling to suggest that I’m not able to keep a balance of what I am passionate about. I also feel God has given me a talent to be a gardener but it’s not an obsession. Every thing is done to glorify God, and I pray that what ever I do it is to glorify his name. There are many forms of idol worship, and being puffed up, obstinate and opinionated is just as wrong as some one who puts the love of anything first before God. The whole point of this forum was to evaluate the relationship people have with their pets. I suggested looking at the book of Geneses to see what kind of relationship Adam had with the animals in the garden of Edom. And what was the commandment God had given him pertaining to the creatures. Wasn’t he commanded to name all of them? What was the signifagents to God wanting Adam to name them? And weren’t they first created by God to be a companion to Adam? And how were they created by God? Could it be possible that God created them by breathing life into them just like he did with Adam? What was the reason for animals to be present when Jesus Christ was born? Why did God bother to mention that the lion will lay down with the lamb? Why is Christ going to ascend from heaven riding a white horse? Why were there animal sacrifices performed for the forgiveness of sins? Could it be because God considered animals as innocent? The point is simple, It’s better for an animal to be loved by a Christian that an unbeliever. And to use that love to some how glorify God by witnessing to others Gods love for all His creation. Especially ours. In Christ Jesus our lord and savoir and creator |

Therefore I would say that I personally don’t trust people who don’t have a love of animals. Because if you don’t have a love or respect for one of Gods lower creations how could you love one of your own kinds?
6 | Animals in the New Testament? | Prov 12:12 | gkidder | 187495
You need to look in the book of Genesis to see why would even consider eating an animal in the first place. We eat meat and animals eat meat because of a direct response to sin. It’s because of Gods curse that we do these things, before the fall, all living things were vegetarians. And some day it will be that way again. .
7 | Teaching Bible Prophecy | Acts 1:7 | gkidder | 186224
I suppose every one has a story to tell or for a better word a testimony. For some it’s through hearing the gospel of Christ preached, for others it’s through a miracle of healing, and yet for others it’s through a different avenue all together. Weather it be Prophecy, Creation science, or a personal or national crises such as 911. What ever God uses to lift that blinding veil for us to see. All I do personally is plant the seed, the rest is up to God to do the rest. But a balance of teaching is needed to accomplish the basic commandment to go and preach to the world, the entire word of God. Your brother in Christ, Tony |

To bradk and hank You have stated that there needs to be a balance of teaching as far as what is being preached behind the pulpit. But yet the emphasis is on the teaching of salvation. If my interpretation is correct salvation can only be taught by using the teaching of Jesus as the main tool for accomplishing his great commission. The story of his birth, his ministry, his death and resurrection I agree that all this is vitally important knowledge in achieving salvation, but more important is the acceptance that he died on the cross for our sins. That I think we can agree on. But for me personally it was the teaching of end time prophecy that initially brought me to accepting Christ in to my hart. And for people like me who knew of Jesus, but didn’t get it until they herd it preached in a different way they to come to know him and have received salvation. And to go a step farther, there are people who believed in evolution that I have ministered to using the creationist approach (answers in genesis .org) and they have gotten saved. So can’t we agree for the most part that there are many tools and or approaches to be used to bring people to salvation? In our lord and savor creator and next king of our planet, Christ Jesus Tony |

I agree, but we can still let others know what future events are to fallow after teaching and preaching about the Rapture of the church. And still give the salvation message. Looking up and to be ready is what Jesus said. Not in those exact words but you get the jest of what im saying. pease be with you all Tony |

Teaching Bible Prophecy Note: Col. 3:23 Amen to you all! Psalms 90:12 Amos 7:3 Daniel 8:19 God has an exact time for the end of this world. Just like he had a time, for Noah’s flood to destroy the earth. There was an exact time when the fountains of the deep opened up. There was an exact time when Abraham would be blessed with a son, Jacob. There was an exact time for the birth of Christ would be born. Which by the way was prophesied by Isaiah seven hundred years before it happened, but still all these events happened and it was in Gods time that he controlled. But that shouldn’t deter us form preaching about events that are yet to be fulfilled. In Christ, Tony |

I never took the time earlier to thank you hank for your note. So far yours has been a positive one and even Mark thank you for your support. I feel that the ignorance is with not preaching the entire gospel. An in-balance, as you said people may be complete and thoroughly equipped. To zero in on any one subject -- be it eschatology, baptism, election or anything else -- and make it one's focus to the exclusion of everything else, does not make the man of God complete and thoroughly equipped; it makes him lop-sided, leading him to place a skewed emphasis upon his pet topic far beyond what the Bible places on it. This not infrequently leads him, if not to omit other vital topics entirely, to fail to give them the same emphasis which Scripture does. ..... The Bible is complete and must be read, studied and taught in its completeness. Amen brother Tony I rest my case. There is a scripture that I’m having trouble finding. It say’s something along the line that people will be willingly ignorant of the truth. Perhaps some one is familiar with this; it pretty well sums up what I was referring to. |

I think we need to back up a bit here, when I first brought up the subject of prophecy it was to ask a simple question as to why prophecy is not being preached behind the pulpit of the church. My frustration is that every thing else is being taught, but not end time prophecy. Not the book of revelation, the Christ of the book of Mathew is a lot different than the Christ of Revelation. In the book of Mathew he is riding a Donkey, in Revelation he is riding a white horse, and that is just one of many examples that I feel need to be preached. We teach about God razing Christ from the dead and ascending to heaven, but we don’t teach about the Rapture of the church and when the dead in Christ shell rise in a twinkling of an eye. Get my point brothers? I just want the Bible evenly taught.
15 | Teaching Bible Prophecy | Acts 1:7 | gkidder | 185829
When we look at scriptures, such as Rev. 1:3 and 1:19 and 3:3 and Rev. 1:7 Rev.11:3, 7-10 Dan. 12:4 Rev.22:12 etc, etc, etc, these are all bible scriptures; all are the inspired word of God are they not? So why are they ignored in the church and by Christians. Why is it not being taught? I’m not asking any one to set a date; I just want prophecy to be used as a teaching tool just like any other book of the bible is used. Of course I’m referring to Revelation and Daniel and a multitude of other scriptures that refers to prophecy.

17 | RE: "immenint return" in first answer | Bible general Archive 1 | gkidder | 185404
Two second comeings or one? For example, Christ is now in heaven from which the angel promised he would come again to this earth. The first phase of his coming is "in the air" for believers;it will be a great blessing to all who participate in it. This is called by some Bible believing scholars as " the Rapture," based on the Greek word harpaso, which means"to snatch away". The same word is used in Acts 8:39 and describes how the Holy spirit "cought Philip away" after he baptized the Ethiopian. Paul as so used this word to describe his experience of being caught up to the third heaven.(2Cor. 12:2-4) 1thess. 4:13-18 is a complete desceiption of the Rapture. phase of Crist coming. immediately after the Rapture the judgment of cristians will take place. The second phase of the Lords second coming is the public appearance of Christ to the earth, when he is accompanied wth power and great glory as well as the angels of heaven. At that tim he will set up his earthly kingdom.rev.1:7 Overwelming number of references to the second coming in both the old and new testaments have to do with this phase of the Lords coming, only a few referances describe his coming for his church, or the Rapture. So you see there are not two comings of Christ, but rather, there are two phases of his one coming. First phase for Christians, and the second phase is for the world of unbelievers. |

18 | The Rapture, when will it be? | Bible general Archive 1 | gkidder | 185403
There are several reasons for this misunderstanding pertaining to the prphetic message. One is that many churches are infected with God-dishonoring and bible-unbelieving liberalism. They are also ignorant or adverse to the prophetic importance of Israel. Many pastors and ministries today have been sadly reduced to nothing more than glorified psychologists who try to make people feel good and meet their emotional needs instead of proclaiming the Word of God with power, conviction and passion. Unlike ten or twenty years ago, the teaching of Bible prophecy has fallen by the wayside because many church circles have deemed that it has little, if any, practical value for today. But Bible prophecy does have practical value. It builds our faith in the sovereignty of God, who holds the future in His hands. The return of Christ challenges us to live in holy expectation of His coming (John 3:1-3). Certainly, prophecy also is a tool of witnessing. The Bible is the only book that accurately forecasts the future and this can be shown by informed teachers and testifiers. The striking prophetic fulfillment of the Jews returning to the land of Israel in our century is one such faith-inspiring prophetic fulfillment. The generally bad condition of the world and the relationship between nations-the famine, pestilence, earthquakes, and so many other prophetic issues can cogently be understood through knowledge of Biblical prophecy. The unbeliever, and or ignorent Christian made familiar with what Scripture predicted for these times may be convicted by the very relevance of the Bible texts on prophecy. And then there is the support of Israel, which is a biblically based mandate for every Christian. All other nations were created by an act of men, but God Himself established the boundaries of the nation of Israel. God gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob a covenant of land that was eternally binding, and it’s recorded in the book of Genesis. God also told Abraham that He would make Abraham’s descendants into a great nation and through them He would bless all the families of the earth. aaaaaaaaany one intrested in wanting to open their minds and hart to Gods word should look at it in a litteal sence. And futher study on prophecy i would personally recomend several books on prophecy by Tim LayHaye and especially some book and DVD's by John Hagee ministries.I'm totally Frustrated but not surprised by how many Christians choose not to believe in biblical prophecy. You ether believe in the righen word of God or you don’t. The entire book of the bible, not just bits and pieces of it. I would like to know why we have a tendency to believe in the stories of the bible, such as Gods creation story, Adam and Eve, the flood, the tower of babble, the story of Moses, the story of Christ, birth teachings, death resurrection etc, etc, etc, but when it come to events that have not accrued but were prophesied to, we have a tendency to doubt or not to believe. We even start to start label Prophecy believers as dispensationalist. In Crist, by the way, he also Prophecied end times. Tony |
