Yes, it does. I find this passage interesting as we see many nations turn agains terroism and the people who support them. I find is so frustrating when Muslims on one hand say they don't condon terrorist, but then they will say we have to understand the terroists anger. To me the middle east will not have peace because they willnot accept the prince of peace. One |

I have a question Jesus stated a well know fact in Matt 4:10 Then Jesus *said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'" I think we would all agree to this that we are to worship God and serve only. I think we would also agree with Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Now for those who hold to these two things and does not believe Jesus is equal to Jehovah God presents a major problem. Here is why: Jesus had people who worshiped Him though out the New Testament and He never rebuked them for doing this. Matt 2:11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matt 28:9 And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Matt 28:17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. Second, the proper thing for someone being worshiped, who is not God, to do is to tell them to STOP! Rev 22:8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. Rev 22:9 But he *said to me, "Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God." So the question now is, is Jesus equal to God and is worthy of worship or is He sinful for not stopping people for worshipping Him? |

Luke 16:22 "Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. Luke 16:23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. Acts 2:27 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. In the Old Testament and New Testament we see there is a place for the dead called Hades or Sheol. As we can see from the passage in Luke there is two sides to this realm of the dead. One is blissful and happy the other torment. At the judgment Hades then will be emptied and death and Hades will be throne into Hell to show Christ triumph over them. Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Rev 20:14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. |

Thank you for explaining to me only Greek scholars will go to heaven. Thank you for also in forming me Acts 2:38 and first Peter 3:21 have been destroyed by translation I never new that. In the future I would caution you one point. Matt 7:1 "Do not judge so that you will not be judged. "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Therefore I would be very careful of your condemnation over doctrinal matters unless you feel you have attained doctrinal perfection. |

So just how is someone saved in the church you’re at? The ironic thing I find people who don't say Baptism is essential have require the recitation of a man made pray to be the work they do prior to salvation. A prayer, I might add that is found no where is scripture.

People quote John 3:16 so much do you understand the context of John 3:16? Nicodemus was told we must be born again of water and the spirit but Nic didn't get it so Jesus had to try to make it simpler for him. To me if we believe we will be baptised. Here lies my bone about baptism too, many people teach people to be save you must quote a prayer thats not in the Bible nor do we have and example of any where. Yet when it comes to baptism, wich is in the bible they leave it out all together when teaching of Jesus. Yes they do baptize them a year or a month later and I chanlange any one to show me a passage there anyone waited for any length of time to be baptised.

The thief on the cross is such a mute point. It’s like saying Adam and Eve was not baptized. Look at Romans 6 there is speaks of baptism as being symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and it is our death, burial, and resurrection. So how could the thief be baptized into Christ death when Christ had not even die??????

12 | Not praying for one's self? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 71812
I agree to a point but look again at the prayer of Jabez that is a pretty selfish prayer. James point is don't ask for things we will only spend on our pleasures. Let me give a good example of this. I lady I new In Jackson Mississippi who gave the keys to their house to my brother in-law and sister who were missionaries vacationing states side. They were really impressed at this families hospitality (The house was really nice). The lady who gave her the use of her house said if you ever need to use our house again just call and if we are not home we keep a key hidden in s special rock in the front flower bed. My sister asked, "You mean I can stay her even if you’re gone." She said, "YES!" Somewhat surprised my sister said why do you do this? The lady told her how this was here dream home she said when they looked at it her and her husband prayed about it and told God if He blessed them with this gift that when ever the Lord needed it they would never refuse. I think this is a good example of asking for "Things but not to only spend it on our pleasure." |

Gen 24:12 He said, "O LORD, the God of my master Abraham, please grant me success today, and show lovingkindness to my master Abraham. Ps 86:16 Turn to me, and be gracious to me; Oh grant Your strength to Your servant, And save the son of Your handmaid. Ps 119:29 Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your law. Neh 1:11 "O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man." Now I was the cupbearer to the king. 1 Chr 4:10 Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may not pain me!" And God granted him what he requested. Please consider the following verses, specially the prayer Jabez. |

15 | What is the Link of faith and works? | Gal 5:6 | One | 71625
Well I as I said in the proceeding note Bible class teaching and preaching I believe are gifts, these gifts can be developed as well. When I say it’s a gift is like God made some people to be naturally good at public speaking, with a quick wit. I don’t think though for a minute this lets us off in our role to be a witness of what Christ has done for us. I remember a guy named Brad who attended a church with me in Indiana, Brad had the IQ of a ten-year-old child. Brad did not have the ability to do a Bible study or teach a class. However, Brad when out every chance he could with another man from church and offered to cut peoples lawn if the would listen about Jesus. Did Brad have the gift to teach, No! Did Brad teach others about commitment to Christ, Yes! Hope this answers you question, one. |

Im not sure what you mean by teaching. In some ways I see teaching as a gift that not all people have. Not every one can get up and teach a Bible class, although I do think every Christian should be a role modle and teach in this way. I would also say I would steer clear if you are trying to come up with a check list of I have to do X, X,X, and X before I can go to heaven. Well I am at work and leaving for the rest of the year, ha ha. I won't be back till Jan 6. |

Well I looked the web site you gave and we can agree to disagree, how any one can read Rev 5:8 and see in between the lines dead saints hearing our prayers and interceding on our behalf is beyond me. It just says it’s the prayers of the saints, I always have seen this as the living saints prayers. I will say this I think we do ourselves and God a great disservice when we focus on what can we do as Christians and not on what please God. When we pray to saints we are at best promoting a practice not clearly approved by God or the Bible.

To me comparing my saying to my brother or sister in Christ, please pray for me, to someone bowing to a statue and directing a prayer is like comparing apples and Fords. One you are praying to the other your not. So yes I would say that the problems arise in saying "praying to Mary." Also it adds to it when I know some of the high Maryology of the Catholic church makeing her a co redeemer with Christ. Now while I know and admit much of the practicing Catholics do not support some of the higher Maryology of their church. We must see how Higher Maryology has affected the laity in their veneration and prayer to her. We must look at the Big Picture. |

Matt 17:1 Six days later Jesus *took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and *led them up on a high mountain by themselves. Matt 17:2 And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light. Matt 17:3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Matt 17:4 Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." Matt 17:5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" Deut 4:24 "For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. I must disagree, look at these passages. God does not want us to put the focus on any of His servants He wants the focus to be on Him. Now some have said, “We do a lot of things not in the Bible” and that is what I see wrong with a lot of religion today. We have not learned the lesson from Nadab and Abihu who were destroyed for offering fire that God had not commanded. Don’t get me wrong I don’t say this to be like I’m going to heaven and no one else is. It is not my job, nor is it any mans job to stand at the gates of heaven and say, “Your in, your out, your in, naw on second thought your out.” However I think we should take a strong look at what God finds pleasing and what He does not. Then try to do what pleases God and less of what pleases us. I just don't see how praying to Mary, Moses, Paul, or any mortal would please God. We should follow every prayer in the Bible and pray to God only! |

20 | Has the time arrived to believe in Him? | Dan 7:22 | One | 71055
Sorry I was so long in getting back. I have not been at work for several days during the holidays. Yes, I do believe in the trinity. I do see distinct roles here, I see the Son of Man as Christ, the Ancient of Days as the Father and the Spirit as the one revealing this vision. To make the Son of Man as referring to the trinity you have the Godhead coming to its self. I feel the way I explained it above is more likely, although it is in many ways difficult to separate the trinity.
