4 | Early church 100 percent Jewish | John 1:11 | Face | 176618
John, the only way I know to recognise the wolves is to immerse myself in Scripture. I try to learn from the noble Bereans who searched the Scripture to see what Paul was teaching as truth. I then realized that the Scriptures Paul referred to were what churches today call 'Old Testament'. Yes, I know they are old, yet totally relevant. From Paul's every reference to Scripture, I see nothing but respect from Paul towards these Scriptures, and believe he taught nothing against them. Churchianity, on the other hand, I have my doubts..... |

There are still lots of Jewish believers in the messiah, Yah'shua. Yet the rabbinical system of denial of belief in Yah'shua has blinded many, many more. Please don't think that all of christianity is saved either. Many here are also deceived. Read the parable in Luke 6:46-49. Also read Matt 13-29 It is sobering to realize that lots of people think they are on the right path, but indeed aren't. Figure out who the grevious wolves are and learn to avoid their teachings |

8 | Was woman ever suppose to be liberated? | Gen 3:15 | Face | 176389
One would think that the pain in childbearing would cease at the same time the woman's position in authority changes.
9 | So the law was valid until his death? | Mark 7:19 | Face | 176309
The difference in that case is that the false witness intended to bring harm by bringing a false accusation. No bodily harm intentional or otherwise had yet been done in Deut 19. But had the false witnesses mangaged to convice the court, then the sentence would have harmed the falsely accused. The other passages we discussed harm had already been done. |

10 | So the law was valid until his death? | Mark 7:19 | Face | 176275
You are correct on two counts. Exo 21 deals with men fighting and causing enough injury to make a woman deliver prematurely. It appears to do with personal responsibility for one's actions. Lev 24 deals with causing harm to another. It doesn't really reveal the context of the situation whether the harm was on purpose or not. Deut 19 was the particular one I referenced that had to do with bearing false witness |

11 | So the law was valid until his death? | Mark 7:19 | Face | 176250
I agree. There was only one thing Yashua said about it has been said that was written in the Torah, and that was the eye for eye, tooth for tooth thing. I suspect that was being taken out of context and abused. Because the context in which the eye for eye was given was a false witness was to bear the penalty eye for eye and tooth for tooth if he was found guilty of bringing false charges against a man. |

12 | So the law was valid until his death? | Mark 7:19 | Face | 176249
I never said it defiles a person to eat unclean meats. Scripture says these things are an abomination, therefore not to be eaten. I realise that food doesn't defile a person. But yet if my creator instructed the prophets to tell me not to eat certain things, I think it's in my best intrest to comply even if I don't understand. |

It's not a foolish controversy. A foolish controversy is arguing over how one cuts his hair. Look at the record of how much time Yah'shua put into setting the record straight on Torah. How many times he quoted Moses and the prophets just for you to blow them off. For a Bible study forum, you guys certainly want to avoid large parts of the bible. Makes one wonder why. |

Thank you sir, that is indeed what I'm wanting to do. 2Ti 2:15 Do your utmost to present yourself approved to Elohim, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth. Belief in action :-) |

Very well, I'll hold my peace on this subject. But I just don't understand why people throw away the base of what all has built on. |

What's the purpose of studying the rest of it if we can't even get the basics right? Our Saviour and Messiah says one thing clearly. Later we believe somebody who appears to talk out of both sides of his mouth. Somebody is wrong. Who is it? Or is the second person, namely Paul, saying something other than what common churchianity is teaching? Who do you believe, the person who's word last forever, or a bunch of people who have been beating the wrong drum? |

20 | who were the Bereans | Acts 17:12 | Face | 176193
I find it interesting that these noble Bereans searched the Scripture to see if what Paul taught was true. Considering the only Scriptures they had at the time were what we call old testament, they didn't seem to think Paul taught contrary to this. |
