7 | right type of bible to use | Bible general Archive 4 | 7angels | 230851
it all depends upon where you are in Christ and what you are trying to accomplish. having multiple versions is nice because it can give you a better understanding of what God's word is saying. now if you are trying to do a word study in the word the an interlinear bible is best. what most people do not understand is that all bibles serve a purpose for example the message bible is one person's view of what that scripture is saying. me i prefer the interlinear bibles in greek and hebrew with an english translation and also i like a concordance to be able to check the orignal meanings of what was being said. i also like the amplified bible. what you need to do is go online and read different versions and see what it is you like and go with that version. as you get more and more into the word you you will probably want other bibles and resources to help you study. hope this helps. God can still reveal things to you no matter what version you use. |

8 | how is the bible divided | Bible general Archive 4 | 7angels | 230850
there are different ways of dividing up the bible but this is how i look at it. 1. the old testament is preparation for Jesus 2. the gospels are the manifestation of Jesus 3. acts records the propagation of Jesus' message 4. epistles provide an explanation of who Jesus is and what Jesus accomplished 5. revelation contains the account of the consummation of Jesus' kingdom. |

9 | Can women be bishops? | NT general | 7angels | 230848
too many people do exactly as bill is doing here. they find scripture to support their points when what they should be doing is taking the word and asking God to show the truth. people post scripture all the time concerning how women should be silent in church for instance and scripturally this is in error. God is a God that does not change. he is the same yesterday, today and forever. so when we study the bible you will find multiple women doing the jobs throughout both the old and new testament that were considered only for men but God blessed them. God does not bless people for wrong doing or going against the word of God. if God did things contrary to his word then that would make him a lier and the word says God does not lie. some people say well it is God and he can do as he wishes. well Jesus tells us that we are to be like Christ in all ways and Christ did nothing on his own but only the will of the Father. so in other words we are to only do the will of God. the will of God is revealed throughout the entire word. we need to watch out we do not take scriptures out of the word without considering if the view we are seeing is not just godly but also in line with God's character and morals. scripture should not contradict itself and if there is a contradiction then somewhere we are missing the meaning God wants us to have. i hope this helps and God bless you all and i pray God opens our hearts and minds to see the truth. |
