Subject: Can women be bishops? |
Bible Note: too many people do exactly as bill is doing here. they find scripture to support their points when what they should be doing is taking the word and asking God to show the truth. people post scripture all the time concerning how women should be silent in church for instance and scripturally this is in error. God is a God that does not change. he is the same yesterday, today and forever. so when we study the bible you will find multiple women doing the jobs throughout both the old and new testament that were considered only for men but God blessed them. God does not bless people for wrong doing or going against the word of God. if God did things contrary to his word then that would make him a lier and the word says God does not lie. some people say well it is God and he can do as he wishes. well Jesus tells us that we are to be like Christ in all ways and Christ did nothing on his own but only the will of the Father. so in other words we are to only do the will of God. the will of God is revealed throughout the entire word. we need to watch out we do not take scriptures out of the word without considering if the view we are seeing is not just godly but also in line with God's character and morals. scripture should not contradict itself and if there is a contradiction then somewhere we are missing the meaning God wants us to have. i hope this helps and God bless you all and i pray God opens our hearts and minds to see the truth. |
