1 | Take up another's offense or not? | Bible general Archive 4 | InGodITrust | 206153
Hello Cheri, Thanks for the response, but sorry not what I am looking for. I am so sure I read the verse, even stopping to ponder on it. If you think of 1 Cor 13 it makes perfect sense to not "take up an offense that is not yours." I think I saw the verse when I was researching for my book. It may be in the Psalms or Proverbs. I tried my exhaustive concordance without result. If you stop to think about it when you hear of or experience a friend or loved one being offended most ofton we know only one side of the story. Ofton throughout my life time I have taken up someone elses offense (becoming irritated or down right mad at them) only to find out I did not know the whole story and it was at the very least a complete "one sided version by the offendee) Well, anyone else willing to help or suggest, let me know. God Bless, InGodITrust |

Thank you Val, However, I still am quite certain that I had read a specific verse that said, "Do not take up an offense that occured to someone else." Was hoping that someone out there recalls that verse and/or knows where it is. Again, thanks InGodITrust |

4 | Can the devil tune in to our thoughts? | Bible general Archive 3 | InGodITrust | 188227
WOS, Thankyou for your response. Please forgive me if you think I put God the Father in the same category as "other spiritual creations." I certainly did not intend that interpretation. My thought was "all spiritual beings," including the Trinity. I was very careful to simply convey thoughts I have had over many years about how spiritual beings, those of the Christian view, communicate and/or obtain knowledge of human activity. Personally, circumstances in my own life lead me to believe that demonic forces can read our thoughts. I have experienced what I thought to be misleading answers to prayer because I had prayed silently, in my heart, then, to have circumstances go contrary to what I thought "God" told me. I have since learned to trust God whole-heartedly in circumstances. I am fully convienced that only God has full and absolute control over circumstances. I do not put faith in what others, nor anything else, say or do, in them selves. I always know how God is leading by and through daily circumstances. Again, personally, I do think demonic forces can read our thoughts. I absolutely make no claim that it is supported through scripture, just as I already stated. I would rather error on the side of caution and take the assumptive postion that thoughts can be read or understood by the enemy than to assume the enemy can not. I believe it is safe to "make the assumption" that it is so rather than make an assumption they can not. I believe the wisest position is never to trust the carnal mind with it's thoughts or obviously thoughts that come and go. I see no harm in taking this postion then to assume satanic forces can not read our thoughts as that would be to fail "to safe guard this vital area." As a rule of thumb anytime scripture is not "absolutely clear," it is wise to take the safest course available. Hope this clarifies why I brought all this up.... InGodITrust |

BradK, Yes, I agree, "why belabor," however, it would be better to, in this case, to give the enemy too much credit, than not too. "If" Satan can, I believe, it is better to have an awareness of the possibility than to ignore. "If" we take the position Satan "can not" it could cause us all to take an assumptive position that could lead to leaving ourselves vunerable. Do you understand what I am saying? I have heard many say he can not, so they assume their thoughts are "protected." If they indeed are not protected it could lead to confusion and allow the enemy to "take advantage of our ignorance." Please...........understand....in this case, my only prayer is that my fellow believers take a defensive posture. I love you all... I have been away from the forum for a week as my wife, Teena, only 55 years old died last Sunday May 6, 2007 God Bless all InGodITrust |

Azure and BradK, Thankyou both so much, I love the poem, please keep myself and my two sons Derek and Daren in your prayers. Today I went to work, a job I have only had for five working days, then after our sales meeting, the owner called me into his office and said "it just won't work." He said I could make allot of money and make him money also, that I was a great guy but I irritate him and he just can't deal with me. Your fired... I pray God that my unwavering faith in God after loosing my wife 8 days ago of which he asked me "all the details of how she died in my 16 year old son's arms on the side of the highway," as I earlier this morning shared with him my faith in Christ. He said "I know your going through a lot right now but I don't need the irritation."... "You just rub me wrong and I don't have to put up with it." Yes........God is so very gracious and continues to be...God Bless His Name..... I know I had better honor my forum name of "InGodITrust," but had no idea that the Lord I serve would ask so much of me. InGodITrust...........Yes I will.......... Thank you and keep us in your prayers InGodITrust |

St.John, God bless and thank you so much. Yes, so far my strength in the Lord is "unbelievable." To God be the credit and glory, I assure you, it is a miracle of God as "only He could do." It is so unthinkable and unimaginable as my wife Teena was literally "irreplacable." By the way, all my dear friends in Christ on the forum, in a bit of humor, don't ever say to the Lord, "God, I am no Job, no even in the same galaxy as Job." I have said this over the years in times of desperation. Not that God would or will but that is one prayer I could wish unsaid! The Lord has never left me nor forsaken me in my past trials and sorrows and I continue to hope and pray that I will continue steadfast....... God Bless InGodITrust |

Cheri, Thank you, one of my favorite songs. My hope and prayer is to take "all of life's sorrows" and use them to encourage others. Isn't this exactly what Jesus and then later the apostles did? "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and He will add all things unto you. Therefore, take no thought for tomarrow, for tomarrow will care for itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own." Matthew 6:33,34 "In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Love you all..... InGodITrust |

Stjohn, Thank you brother. Nothing, absolutely, is more comfort than God's love and the love of the brethern (and sister-in) We all feel, I'm sure, that God seems so distant especially in the "dark days," but it is then that His light shines the brightest. Oh yes, we all mouth those words, and I am sure sincerely. But when tragedy strikes and our guts pour out, sorrow beyond sorrows, unimaginable pain, beyond all the words of the World's languages, it is then, "God is there like never before." No words can describe what a father, age 59, with two sons who adored their mother beyond mere words, is experiencing. Even though I have walked and talked with God for 40 years there is no more forsaken (though momentarily) and desperate experience than to lose you partner and "soul mate." Of all on God's green earth she was indeed spectacular. Beyond words, the most loving and giving and unselfish person I have ever known by far. That is what makes it so hard. She was as close to Christ-like love I have ever known. God's gain and the World's loss. And I thought God had enough angels and saints in heaven already............guess not.....sure wish He would lend her back to me for a bit longer. Thank you one and all, InGodITrust |

John, My sincerest appology. I am InGodITrust and used to use Psalm 25 when I first came on the forum. Honestly, I was ashamed of how I responded to some questions. My responses were ungodly and self-righteous. I was going through some tough times of unemployment and watching my wife go to work day after day with an injured shoulder. I am not excusing my behavior but I thought it would be better to change my forum name from Psalm 25 to InGodITrust....... I had no intention of being deceptive....... I simply wanted "to start over, afresh. Please forgive me......... The reason I logged in under Psalm 25 was to try to find the profile of CDBJ, thinking perhaps he had corresponded with me under that name. I prayerful hope you understand........ Whatever I need to do let me know. I will gladly give you my personal e-mail address to further explain or apologize as I have already e-mail skccab Again, I am so sorry to misled those on the forum. CDBJ, Oh dear brother, I indeed sensed that you too faced a great loss. As you and I both now know, no words on earth can express the grief and sorrow that one experiences with the loss of their mate. And, especially I do believe, the loss of a godly and devoted spouse that you shared God's love and wisdom with. My dear friend, I ask you, "how do we go on without them?" I know God will and does provide and yet the very thought is unthinkable and unimaginable. Much, in a sense I would say, how the disiples must have felt when they put Jesus in the tomb. Thank you so much, you have truly blessed my heart and I sincerely hope you and I will continue a deepening friendship, InGodITrust |

kalos, My friend, obviously you don't understand what I do about dispensationalism. I have followed John MacArthur probibly longer than you have been alive. Honestly, your own words before you quote John MacArthur condradict what MacArthur is stating. You apparantly don't understand the balanced Biblical view of dispensationalism as I and MacArthur do. I couldn't agree more with John. I firmly believe that the church and Israel are completely seperate, "I am Jewish and born again." Please "don't judge a book by it's cover." (and if you do please read mine) If I misunderstood you please except my appology but your initial statement contradicts what MacArthur and a correct position on dispensationalism is all about. Sincerely at your service, InGodITrust |

Kalos, My sincerest appology. Unfortunately "after" I posted a response is when I realized it was part of the MacArthur quote. I am a staunch defender of dispensationalism and Dr.John MacArthur. Like so many things in Christianity what started out as Biblically based truth, that of the original dispensationalist teaching, has been all turned around and twisted to where, now, it is being attacked without qualification. I too realized after looking at your personal profile, that there is no way I have known MacArthur longer than you've been alive (I'm 59) Again, my apology, not beena an easy day for me. Hank Hanegraaff has stirred up all kinds of problems for Biblical dispensationalism. Also, I am a die-hard to the death defender of the Jews and Israel to a fault.... We (remember I used to be a gentle) owe everything to God's chosen the Jews, as the gentiles were grafted in to the original roots of Judaism. Many, if not most, of America's churches are turning their back on the Jews and making claims that "the church is spiritual Israel." Of course this has been prophesied but it sickens me and scares me that America is headed for doom. God bless America as I too fought for her and our freedoms in Southeast Asia. Anyway Kalos, I violated my own sacred rules and was unfair and unkind to your first response. Please forgive me and let's move on. (I love John MacArthur, have followed him since he graduated from Talbot.) InGodITrust |

justme, Well I couldn't disagree more with John Hagee thinking that "you are not saved." As far as the other writers who are selling books and have or may have distorted many issues, this could well be true. However, I know a good many Greek scholars who are dispensational including Dr. John MacArthur. My Jewish friends, of which John Hagee is a staunch defender (himself not Jewish) are dispensational in the balanced Biblical sense. Addressing your other post I would agree with you on all except Joyce Meyers. I do not agree with her personal views, the name it and claim it bunch she sometimes hangs around with, but to put Joyce in the same league with Copeland and so on is down right wrong. You are criticising me for criticising Hanegraaf who makes his living "tearing down all those [he] disagrees with seems rather ironic. Then, as I just said, you are now criticising me publically for voicing my opinion of which you asked for anyones "opinion" in the first place. Don't you see the irony? I do thank you sincerely for your concern and thoughts about my wife Teena. I see you have a great and generous heart, thank you. However, my dear friend, I will stand by my opinion of Hanegraaf. No matter what books he has wrote that may indeed be good, he spends most of his time tearing down good godly folks; and I'll bet ya he has not (as you told me I should) contacted them personally to voice "his opinion." If I can "stir up" folks on the forum so be it, is that not exactly what it is for? And have you not done exactly the same by utilizing approximately two full pages of Forum to criticise me and defend Hank Hanegraaf? The irony seems to me to be quit obvious..... But, thank you and may we all benefit. InGodITrust |

Greetings justme, I must say you certainly are "tenasious" I mean that in a good sense. Bless you my brother, you are a man who sticks by what he believes. I deeply respect you for that. No I have not read any of Hank's stuff. Please understand that a person who finds it necessary to "bring down" ALL those (emphasis "all") who they determine wrong "PUBLICALLY" deserve no slack nor do they deserve whatever else their opinion is. The Golden Rule,"love your neighbor" (brother is included) as yourself requires an extremely humble and "bear all, endures all, forgives all" attitude. No matter what else Hank Hanegraaf does or says he is not worth listening to. Anyone, no matter all else, who does not have the maturity, discernment, wisdom to know how he is to conduct himself, especially in a public forum where many non-believer's may also see what has been said or written deserve's no such consideration. When it comes to down right heretics I have no problem with going public. But, this is to be done within the "public church at large" and not openly as Hank has done. Had Hank done so over the internet, a Christian one, or even Christian T.V. (not really secluded any longer) I would not have a problem. To put Joyce Meyer in the league with Copeland, Dr. K.C.Price, Joel Osteen, and on and on just shows to me that "it's open season on all Hank (or anyone like him) disagrees with." "WHY DO YOU THINK THE WORLD LAUGHS AT US AS WE CAN'T AGREE OR GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER? WHY SOULD I BECOME A CHRISTIAN WHEN WE ARE SHOOTING EACH OTHER AND MANY TIMES 'IN THE BACK?' Plese forgive me I know capitolization is "shouting" but dog on it anyway how can you or anyone else defend the likes of Hank Hanegraaf? It does not matter what else "good things or good writings he has." He is violating the most sacred principals of agape-love and humility but "lumping everyone in the same category." I absolutely abhore false teachers and false doctrine. I am not Pentecostal per say. I love my Pentecostal brethren and think they do have allot of "twisting the Scriptures to back up their position." But, do the Southern Baptists agree with Methodists? Do the truly born again Catholics agree with the Protestants? Let's stop attacking each other (other than the down right false heretics which fit Matthew 7;16-24; "I NEVER KNEW YOU...." and take the position of Acts 5:37-41; "LEST WE FIGHT AGAINST GOD.' Jesus said, "Those who follow and know Me, another they will not follow or listen to. My sheep know My voice......" John 10:27 Also, I am assuming by your profile that you are Calvanistic or somewhat, so allow God to take care of the real heretics and guide the misguided (if you really think Joyce Meyer is amoung them) and let God be God. Anyone who does not pray, study their Bible, and falls for "EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE" in a sense, to God grant us His grace, deserves exactly what they are getting; a bunch of mixed up junk because they take their salvation too losely. My friend John 13:34-35 within the church also requires us to exercise "tough love." Anyone who continually attacks other Christians on a wholesale level should be sensored and ignored by the body of Christ. Matthew 18 has been taken out of context by the vast majority of Christians. Matthew 18 is address false teachings or seriously misleading teachings that would have an impact on immature younger Believers. To get the context one must start in Matthew 17. I never intended our discussion to be so controversial nor public. You are correct brother, I agree, you never did ask for an opinion. But, on the other hand "all I did was state an opinion" in one brief short sentence of which (I humbly bring to your attention)you turned into a monumental discussion covering three days and who knows how many people have been affected. Again, I do admire you; your profile and responses to my posts have been most gracious and thoughtful. But, please understand brother, it is you that turned this whole thing into a monster and drew it out time after time when I would have been satisfied with making one short and simple statement "I would not use Hanks's opinions or thoughts for toilet paperl" Is that unkind, unthoughtful, ungracious, absolutely. Am I violating agape love perhaps, but I am upset and believe Hank Hanegraaf has done much harm and damage to God's over all true Kingdom. The Golden Rule, "love your neighbor as yourself."...........Do not judge least you too be judged. For by your standard of measure it will be measured unto you." Both of these in Matthew 7............ Again, I do respect and appreciate you my friend, all I did was make one brief statement of which, at this time, I will not withdraw as it was and is "an opinion." Personally I know many folks who feel the same way and think Hank Hanegraaf is not worth the matches to burn up whatever he says. Blessings, InGodITrust |
