1 | what does "falling away" mean? | Heb 6:6 | richilou_2003 | 106277
First of all, we have to be clear in our mind as to what this passage means. The letter to the Hebrews was written to a group of Jews that was truly christian, but being tempted to go back to their former religion, that is Judaism. The point, therefore, for the author, is to warn them lovingly that there is not a greater sin to think that salvation in Christ would not be the better solution for our eternity. It is in the same line that we should understand a bit further in the epistle the passsage of 10.26 and following. Now, concerning your lethargy that you seem to live, we must be honest. Probably God is talking powerfully to you by that. He expresses His holy character showing you the great sadness it caused to Him in backsliding in your life. But the fact is that there is encouragement however. Just to think that you want to be repentant, is a sign that you have not been rejected by God. If you read well the verse, repentance seemed to be impossible for them. But for you, repentance seems to be the way you are on the inside. So, keep on seeking God and He will surely lead you in the full recovery. Do not forget in conclusion, that while David had to bear on his shoulders the consequences of his sin against Bath-Scheeba and her husband, he was nevertheless forgiven by God.
2 | 1 corinthians 14:34 | NT general Archive 1 | richilou_2003 | 81717
The problem is not that Paul was against the participation of women in the church. How could we think that way when we read 1 Cor. 11.5 that says that woman has the right to pray being veiled. The point of Paul is that women, in that time, have no opportunity to study and to be educated as men could. Therefore, the word was given to men in the teaching ministry in order to maintain that standard of authority as well as of order. Moreover, when we see the place of Priscila in the book of Acts we see another place where a woman had the right to be very active in the local church.
3 | Do Jesus and Paul agree on salv by faith | NT general Archive 1 | richilou_2003 | 81716
I think that you should read some different passages in the light of their context. For example, when Paul said that salvation was by faith and not by works (Eph. 2.8-9) was it to mean that James contradicted his brother in Jesus when he said that salvation was not only by faith, but by works too (James 2.24)? No. The problem is resolved when we ask to ourselves questions like: "To whom he is speaking"? "What was his purpose when he wrote that way"? You'll find easier to understand the would-be discrepancies that seem to be in the texts. But Jesus is in full harmony with all other texts (Paul, Hebrews, James, Peter, etc.). The point is to find out what the purpose is.
4 | Explain john19:30A cry of triumph | NT general Archive 1 | richilou_2003 | 81715
I think that many things could be said about it. But, because the original words (in greek) are "TETELESTAĆ" the concept is that a total payment has been done in full by the death of Christ. When Jesus said "All is finished" or "all is accomplished", we must understand that the main purpose of God in sending His Son on earth has been done completely.
5 | What is 'the fruit of the vine'? | Matt 26:29 | richilou_2003 | 73917
I think that you are right thinking that in that time wine was more than likely the product used.
6 | commune in God's Kingdom with Christ? | Matt 26:29 | richilou_2003 | 73916
Of course we will have time of nearness with Him. But is it another literal communion as we know it today? I think not. I think rather that what He was alluding to is that it was another way of saying that because it was His last supper, the next with His disciples would be only in another dimension, that is eternity.
7 | Danial's afe lion's den? | Daniel | richilou_2003 | 73915
There are many ideas on that subject. But I can that all we can say is that he was not too young.
8 | Bible verses needed, for lying 14 yr old | Prov 1:1 | richilou_2003 | 72824
I think that just the fact to say that Jesus Christ requires a heart like a child, your daughter would be able to see herself as understood by God, therefore will be able to understand more than you could think.
9 | what book is full of wise sayings | Prov 1:1 | richilou_2003 | 72823
In fact, if you want a precise book, I would say that Proverbs is one. But in the whole scope of the Bible, the 66 books that compose it, we could say without any shadow of doubt that the Bible itself is THE Book.
10 | when did Jesus go to Hades? | Bible general Archive 1 | richilou_2003 | 71578
My dear friend, It is a matter of the interpretation of the text. If by "hades" you mean "Hell", I don't think that Scriptures teach such a thing at all. |

11 | Diffrent between Catolic -protestant | Bible general Archive 1 | richilou_2003 | 71494
The term "christian" is nowadays a very broad term that doesn't mean really what it meant in the beginning of the Church. Catholics have nothing to do with the salvation presented in the Bible. They believe in Jesus Christ, yes, but at the same time, they believe in a salvation by works, which is completely condemned by the apostle Paul in Ephesians 2.8-10. Their system is hypocritical without realizing it fully themselves. So, for instance, they say that baptism is a key to enter the family of God. I ask you a question: "Have you ever noticed that, on the cross, one of the criminals who was crucified with Jesus, has been saved by his conversion, and no baptism has never been done for him. Moreover, Mary has a great place in the catholic theology because she is seen a mediator between men and Jesus, but the apostle Paul, once again, refutted this concept, when he said that there was only one mediator between God and man and it was Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 2.5-7). Think about that...
12 | Need to understand the Trinity... | Bible general Archive 1 | richilou_2003 | 71297
First of all, many passages back up the Trinity even though the word itself is not in the Bible. It is the same with the word "Hell". To understand the Trinity we would have to be God, but let me illustrate by a poor, but helpful way to grasp the concept. For example, water can be seen in three way: Ice, liquid and vapor. But it is still the same water.
13 | Is suicide a sin, will you go to hell? | Bible general Archive 1 | richilou_2003 | 71296
First of all, I am wondering if it is a question you want an answer for just by curiosity or if you are in a situation you are thinking of to commit?
