1 | Are we back to the absurd view...? | 2 Timothy | lmf | 87681
It seems to me that you clearly stated the problem when you said KJV-Only advocates are scared to death... Would you not agree that fear or more specifically the fear of death is the number one problem we as christians face. The scripture states there is no fear in love, and fear has torment. So fear that my faith could be side tracked by a mis-translated version could keep me from seeing God your way and keeps the body of Christ divided which I believe is a powerful satanic tool in keeping us from becoming one in Christ and preaching His Word to all the world and Jesus' return. 1John 4:18,Heb 2:14.
2 | How can the church decide saved/unsaved? | 2 Cor 5:8 | lmf | 84158
Good question! You would have to ask a Catholic Preist or Bishop and I am neither. The traditions of why cremation is not accepted as a proper burial was what I was sharing. Jesus said many times that accepting Him as Lord and Savior is the only way to the Father.
3 | Cremation | 2 Cor 5:8 | lmf | 84085
I asked the same question many years ago. When I was a teenager I attended a funeral service of a neighbors father. The man had lived and died in another state and was cremated. His daughter wanted to have a funeral in our state and bury him close to her. At the service his ashes stayed in the hearse because the Catholic church wouldn't allow them into the church building. Of course I found that very bazzar the guy wasn't allowed at his own funeral? What I was told was that in historical times when a person was considered evil possibly a prisoner, or leper, or what may have been the dredges of society at death their bodies were disposed of with the trash and burned. That was as if saying their lives had no value and considered disrespectful toward the person. As the catholics developed the church they adopted the tradition that only unclean, or unsaved were cremated and it seems to have spread like wild fire. I've never found a scripture that supports or denies any form of burial. I can not see how the God who is called Love in the books of John would refuse a person who loves Him entrance to heaven because their corpse wasn't taken care of in a paticular way. Otherwise there would be hundreds of thousands lost because of traditions and Jesus said Your traditions make your faith of no effect. Nothing is impossible to God so it is no problem for him to restore health to a living body being destroyed by disease or life to flesh thats been lifeless.
4 | Explan "Separation of Church and State". | Deuteronomy | lmf | 84025
Most people believe the words "seperation of church and state" are in the first amendement or another founding document. They aren't. In 1947 the Supreme Court Emerson vs Board of Education refered to and misinterepted the phrase used by T. Jefferson in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Ass. of Connecticut in 1802. Until 1833 many states had official state churches and the Baptists objected to the state of Conn. church Congregationalism. At that time the federal government was not allowed to establish a church but the states were allowed to choose a church. President Jeffereson responded to their request for help saying "I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of seperation between church and state." Pres. Jefferson believed that the Constitution for bade the federal government to intrude in state matters. The Constitution is the framework of our government established originally on the Declaration of Independence. J.Q. Adams said " The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of government on the precepts of Christianity." We have been a faith filled people. Our fore fathers were men of faith and made sure that we have the right to choose how we worship, and even to choose not to believe in any God. Just as in Deut. God said I put before you life and death, blessing and cursing choose life. There are lots of websites that can supply the whole story in detail I just wanted to give you a start. Deut Ch. 28 and 30. |

5 | Why leave to anoint Jesus' body Mk 16:1? | Mark 16:1 | lmf | 83550
In Mark 15:42-47 We read the Sabbath was approaching so it was every important to Joseph of Arimathea that Jesus was taken care of before the day of the Lord. He took a risk in requesting the body from Pilate especially considering others were still in hiding. In vs 46 it describes how Jesus was layed out in the tomb but the preperation of His body was delayed because of the Sabbath traditions. It was after the Sabbath was over that the women went to the tomb to finish the anoiting with spices and oils and wrapping Him. I think you can reference to the story of Lazarus John 11:39-45. vs 44 And out walked the man who had been dead , his hands and feet wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips) and with a [burial] napkin bound around his face. Jesus said to them, free him of the burial wrappings and let him go. So this shows the burial practices of that time. Compare the burial of Lazarus to Jesus and you will see that they had not finished. So they would have found a way to open Jesus tomb.
6 | Define 'spiritual death' | 2 Cor 5:21 | lmf | 83387
Spiritual death is first described in Gen 2:17. This day you will surely die..we know Adam did not die for hundreds of years but he was seperated from God and sent out of the garden. So we can see seperation from God is spiritual death. Backed up in the NT 2Corinthians 4:4, John 3:1-7 and John 5:1-4.
7 | Why not tell others about Jesus miracles | Mark 3:12 | lmf | 83094
Matt 4:23-24 He went about all Galilee teaching and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people and his fame spread and they brought to Him all sick and He healed them. 5:2-and He opened His mouth, and taught them. Jesus used every opportunity He had to teach who He was and how His Father was different from the false gods they had been worshiping. Miracles were a part of His ministry but even in present time we can see that miracles dont build faith. Jesus knew the hearts of the people and what they would tell about what happened to them. Also, there were times when obedience was a part of what happened as in when He told the lepers to go show themselves to the preist and as they went they were healed but only 1 came back and gave thanks and praise. Luke 17:12-16. So we see all of them received their healing but only 1 received Jesus.
8 | Jesus cast into hell?? | 1 Cor 15:3 | lmf | 83028
Acts 2:30-31-32 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh,he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we are all witnesses.

10 | Healing by Strips physical or not | 1 Pet 2:24 | lmf | 82389
Jesus said I am the same yesterday, today and tommorow and He never refused to heal anyone. There were some who did not receive their healing. How could God go around making people sick when His Son healed anyone who asked. God is not a child abuser! God will forgive and heal you any time. John 16:3
11 | How to use scripture, prove them wrong? | Bible general Archive 1 | lmf | 82326
In this world all people are flesh and blood-contaminated by sin and redeemed by the blood of Jesus to blatantly say a way of believing in God is wrong because you dont agree is just as much evil as you are saying against the people you feel are preaching evil things. Maybe you are the one preaching evil ways. Jesus had 12 men following and added 70 or more to his team. Each one had a different life before Him and a different preaching style after Him and I see no where in scripture said Jesus rebuked one because of how they preached the gospel to the world.
12 | John 20:17 | Bible general Archive 1 | lmf | 82237
The father son and holy spirit have always been 3 persons in 1 God maybe we have more to learn as how this works by studying more. I cant say I know at this time. Jesus became flesh so God the father would be his god or posible he was speaking out of respect for his father and Mary whom he was speaking to. The way you might introduce a college to your father as "this is my father" or a friend "this is my dad".
13 | The exaltation of Jesus | Bible general Archive 1 | lmf | 82230
In Gen 3:15 God first speaks of Jesus in the flesh, John 1:1 describes Jesus becoming flesh,so I believe that is why God exalted Jesus back into his position in heaven at His righthand. Jesus became our substitute on the cross so that we would be redeemed from Hell. He always had a choice but He loved us in a way our human minds cannot understand. The sacrifice Jesus made didnt begin on the cross it began in the garden when He knew some day He would be betrayed by people who said they loved him, He would be beaten starved and abandoned, He would pour out His blood and become every sin-every disease-and physically be so deformed He would become unregonizable as a man and then go into hell and face satan. He did all of that with a promice that our heavenly father would call Him out of Hell which had never been done before. So when God turned away from Him for the first time they were seperated and later He was restored His place in heaven next to our father and between us and the father God and man togather as promiced to Abraham in covenant. This is just my opinion!
14 | How do you answer the criticisms? | Bible general Archive 1 | lmf | 82210
There are times when you have to put aside reason and logic and stand on faith that the word of God is the truth regardless of what you are facing at that moment. When a doctor says go home and make your funeral arrangements there is nothing we can do for you. You have to believe that Jesus bore our sin sickness and disease so you have a blood bought right to live and that a long life is a promice of God.
15 | HUNGER AND THIRST | Matt 4:4 | lmf | 82057
When a person is hungery or thirsty they have a strong desire for food and water. When we hunger and thirst after righteosness we desire to be righteous which simply put means to act like Jesus. So we try to be like Him in our daily lives so other people see Him in us and want to know Him.
