2 | Jesus didn't know what to say | Mark 9:6 | brenda_L | 174939
It wasn't Jesus who didn't know what to say. It was Peter. 5Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." 6(He [Peter] did not know what to say, they [Peter, James and John] were so frightened.) |

Read Ephesians 5:22-33 also, you might want to check out http://www.carm.org/devotions/marriage.htm "But what of the wife? What is her responsibility in marriage? It is simple. She is to respect, honor, and support her husband (Eph. 5:33). She is to encourage him to be the leader. She is to not undermine his position has head. This means that wives should not show him disrespect by speaking ill of him behind his back to anyone else. In addition, though many women will not like it, the woman's primary responsibility is to take care of the home (Tit. 2:3-5) and to make it a suitable place for the family to dwell as she aids her husband and nurtures the children (1 Thess. 2:7) with love (Tit. 2:4)." |

10 | Do I need to leave the church? | James 1:26 | brenda_L | 163501
First thing I would do is pray for her...and also ask God what you should do (in prayer). I'm really not sure if you should leave or not. My 'personal' opinion would be yes, leave...but I'm just really not sure (I don't feel qualified(?) enough to answer that question, for some reason). I'll wait to see what someone else says about this. There are some people here that really know what they are talking about. I don't know the bible well enough to back up my answer with scripture (which I think is very important). But in the meantime you might want to check out this site http://www.victorious.org/gossip.htm |

11 | Dino? | Job 40:17 | brenda_L | 163004
The Bible mentions the "Behemoth" and the "Leviathan". The word DINOSAUR wasn't coined until the mid 1800's, so you wont find the word 'dinosaur' in the bible. But it does mention a few unidentified animals that we don't know of today. I know the behemoth is mentioned in Job 40:15. Some think it is an elephant or a hippo...but if you read the description you can see that that isn't what it is. Like verse 17 says "He moveth his tail like a cedar" (KJV). We know an elephant and rino's tail is small and couldn't be compaired to a cedar. For Leviathan look at Job 41, Isaiah 27:1. |

12 | Why is gambling wrong . | 1 Tim 6:10 | brenda_L | 162565
read 1 Timothy 6:6-10 I don't think it mentions (specifically) anywhere in the bible that 'gambling' is a sin. But it's the LOVE of money that is...and also trying to get something from nothing. I like how Paul talks about being content with what you have (I repeat that to myself often, when I find myself wanting something I don't have). http://www.biblestudyguide.org/bible-answers/gambling.htm this site goes into detail about it, if you'd like to check that out. It should help. Hope everything works out okay! -bren |

15 | Didn't those people hear the voices too? | Acts 2:2 | brenda_L | 162289
They didn't hear voices. There was a sound (as of a rushing mighty wind) "there came 'a sound' from heaven 'as of a rushing mighty wind', and it filled all the house where they were sitting."( Acts 2:2 King James Version) It must have been an amazing scene, to those you witnessed it, and hard for them to believe. "They were all amazed, and were in doubt," (verse 12) To some they appeared drunk (verse 13). |

16 | Why didnt Saul help steven in theCrucifx | Acts 9:4 | brenda_L | 162287
It was Acts 7:54-60 when Stephen was stoned. Saul persecuted the church at that time, and had not yet been converted (he would later be called Paul instead of Saul). Saul's conversion happens in Acts 9 (you should read that chapter), when the Lord appears to him and said "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" |

17 | Wealth People | 1 Tim 6:10 | brenda_L | 162109
1 Timothy 6:8-10 (NIV) 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. |

18 | Gays | Lev 18:22 | brenda_L | 162107

19 | Questions friend has asked | Rom 8:29 | brenda_L | 162105
If someone makes a prediction and it's wrong then they are called a false prophet. 1 John 4:1 says: 1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. How do you test them? If something they says goes against the word of God or if what they predict doesn't happen they are not from God. You see quite a few people predicting the end of the world, when Jesus will return. What does scripture say? Mark 13:32 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (read all of Mark 13) |

20 | Christians/Catholics same? | Rom 3:28 | brenda_L | 162104
Catholics believe in God, yes...but they also believe people need to keep the commandments and do good works to 'get to Heaven'. Scripture cleary says that we (those who put their faith in Jesus) are 'justified by faith apart from observing the law'. Romans 3:21 starts off with "21. But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify." In the Old Testament the blood of animals was needed...and it was only a temporary solution. They needed to sacrafice constantly. But Jesus Died on the cross, shed HIS BLOOD for our sins...canceling the Old Testament part where animal's blood was needed. And this he only needed to do once...not over and over again. Jesus is THE LAMB of God. |
