1 | Big mouthed Christian, or no? | Rom 14:12 | Schmythe | 90005
Ezekiel 33: 8, 9 "When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself." It is always our duty to warn others of their mistakes. God bless.
2 | You took a wrong turn somewhere.. | Rom 14:12 | Schmythe | 89827
I must say i read everything and i think this person has a good point. you seem all to eager to abandon those who you feel are not at the place they should be in their spiritual journey. As with any long trip no one goes at the same speed.
3 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | Schmythe | 89823
George, I think you might be at the wrong web site. Unless I am mistaken about this place it was designed so that people who had questions about God could come and ask, and those that had some light to shed on the subject could do it, correct me if i am wrong. Also isn't it our job as Chistians to serve as guides to the world. For we are the light to the world. Not just the light unto ourselves. just askin.may God soften your heart.
4 | Hell not created for man? | Matt 25:41 | Schmythe | 89778
I agree, if hell was designed as a place to send the rebelious angels to it must have been created before man, since this took place before we were created.
5 | Searching for the truth | 1 Thess 4:17 | Schmythe | 89716
Maybe I can help a little. Romans 6: 23 "for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Now just looking at the first part it says that if we sin we will die. That's all there is to it so for someone not to die they must be sinless. Before we return to Elijah I would like to point out he was not the only one to be taken in his bodily form. Another was Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. It says in Genesis 5: 24 "He enjoyed a close relationship with God throughout his life. Then suddenly, he disappeared because God took him." Now also we can, i feel, safely assume that to walk close with God is to follow his will. And His will is not to sin. So, we can once again assume that Enoch did not sin. Hence death was not given to him for his sins. If we follow this same reasoning it must also be assumed that Elijah lived his life without sinning. On a slight side note, in Revolation 11: 3 it says, "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." One of these could possibly be Elijah that God will call into service during these times. However this is just a speculation and I have no way to prove it. I hope that helps a little, sorry if not. God bless. |

6 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | Schmythe | 89583
You know personaly I have spent a lot of time thinking about this too. And I think it's something that's hard to address without talking about free will. If God didn't creat those who didn't choose him it would be as if that choice was elemintated all together, and that would put a limit on free will. I think that's kinda what you were asking. I hope that helps, if my explination seems a bit muddled let me know and i'll try to explain myself bettr. God bless.
7 | exodus 20:13 | Exodus | Schmythe | 89582
I by no means am an authority on this but it seems to me that what David did was an attempt to protect the Jews and also to stand up for his God. Day after day Galiath was mocking God and threatening soldiers. If David had not killed him many of the Jews would have been lost. However this is also the old testimate view. If you were to look at Luke 6:29 you would see, that the Lord no longer encourages us to take vengance for wrong done to us. Justice is for the Lord to distribute. I hope this will help you. God bless.

9 | slew the children of bethlehem | Matt 2:16 | Schmythe | 89578
I'm not sure what version your bible is but I have an NIV and it says "When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi." Basically this was after Herod had heared that the King of the Jews was to be born at this time. He sent the Magi to find Christ, and then they were to tell Herod where to find him. Once Herod found Christ he planned to kill him. When the Magi left without telling him the location he thought he would play it safe and kill all the children that might be around Christ's age. I hope this helps
