1 | I'm not sure what you are trying to ask | Col 3:17 | Savannah | 32371
Ric, you have given me some insight. What about being born of the spirit? Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. I believe Jesus is also speaking of the Holy Ghost in John 3:3, 3:5, 3:7. If we are to be baptised in the spirit as we both(?) agree it is also commanded of us to be baptised by the water. Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. :48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. I believe therefore, that we not only need to Baptized by the Holy Ghost but also of the water. 1st Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. :21 The like fugure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us... Jesus is speeking to them only. The Apostles then go out and do what Jesus taught them. You may have read this before, but I think it packs alot of punch. Savannah |

3 | Jesus' name baptism? | Acts 2:38 | Savannah | 30896
What is the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? His name is Jesus. In Acts, Peter tells a crowd of people they must be baptised in Jesus' name. The crowd consists of the 11 remaining apostles, who like wise were all present in Matt 28 when Jesus said to Baptise in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. If the apostles didn't think Peter was correct in telling the crowd to be Baptised in Jesus' name they would have objected to this. They didn't. They understood that Jesus is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are titles given for God. Just as you may be a Father, Husband and Son, or likewise a Mother, Wife or Daughter! Do you believe that God was manifest in the flesh as Jesus Christ?
