1 | is divorce a sin? | Mal 2:16 | ROGER459 | 131186
Does God hate Divorce? (Deut 23:21) When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. This is you 'Key!' Did you say Wedding Vows to God? Were those vows something like this: For Better or Worse, in Sickenss and in Health, For richer or poorer, 'till death do you part?' Then the Word is clear! (Matt 12:37) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. What did the Church do? It is the responsibility for the Church to exercise these verses: (Matt 18:15) Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.(Matt 18:16) But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. (Matt 18:17) And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Now I know that many people that call themselves Christian violate these next verses: (1Corinthians 6:1-8) Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? (1Cor 6:2) Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? (1Cor 6:3) Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? (1Cor 6:4) If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. (1Cor 6:5) I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?(1Cor 6:6) But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. (1Cor 6:7) Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?(1Cor 6:8) Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. Notice V5, "I speak this to your shame!" The World wants to see how Christians act under adversity, yet many who call themselves Christian do not "Obey the Word!" "THEY USE CHRISTIAN LAWYERS TO DIVORCE THEIR SPOUSE WITH CHRISTIAN JUDGES, BEFORE THE WORLD?" What is wrong with 'that picture?' (1Corinthinas 7:10-11) And unto the married I command, yet not I, BUT THE LORD!, Let not the wife depart from her husband: (1Cor 7:11) But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband divorce his wife. The only exception to this is if your husband or wife has committed Adultery! That is your option according to Matthew 18:8-9. "BUT WHAT ABOUT FORGIVNESS? There are other verses that deal with that, especailly if your husband or wife has not committed adultery or has just plain left you. (1Corinthinas 7:39) The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. (Romans 7:1-2) Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? (Rom 7:2) For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. (Mark 10:11-12) And He [Jesus] saith unto them, Whosoever shall divorce his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. (Mark 10:12) And if a woman shall divorce her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. There are more divorces among those that "call the Name of Christ" than among Un-Believers! I will leave you with one final thought: (James 1:22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Please feel free to write me, ROGER459@ATT.NET for more on this subject. Thank you! |

4 | any opinions about "thorn in the flesh" | 2 Cor 12:7 | ROGER459 | 131151
The 'Thorn in the Flesh' was given to Paul to keep him humble, 'for the abundance of revelation' as stated in the Text. Some believe that it had to do with 'this or that'. The Scripture does not speak to either 'this or that'. You can be sure if We did know what it was, someone would start a ministry and call it "Thorn in the Flesh Ministries" so that "Everyone" that had "IT" could feel like Paul. I am glad you mentioned 911. Did you know most Churche were 'Packed' for a few weeks after 911. Some three years later, the churches are just as empty, maybe even more so. Like the nation Israel, when things were going good, they soon "Forgot God and what He did!" Thank you! |

5 | Date or time for an answer to prayer? | Is 38:5 | ROGER459 | 131150
(1Thes 5:17) Pray without ceasing. (Mark 1:35) And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He [Jesus] went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. (Psalms 55:17) Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Here are some choices! Choose one that fits you, in His will! The Children of Israel, were to gather 'manna' before the sun rose, see Exodus 16. Personally I find the best time to pray and study the Word is early in the morning, "Before the Press of the Day comes upon me! Although 'the Evening and the Morning were the first day..Genesis 1:5 Once again, 'choose what is best for you in His will!' Thank you! |

6 | age disciples | NT general Archive 1 | ROGER459 | 131149
Elsa, Greetings! Most Bible scholars believe that disciples were in their teens and some maybe in their early 20's. Scripture does not tell us anything about their ages. One key is in Mark 10:35-to-45 but especially (Mark 10:41) And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John. They all wanted a 'Position' and wrangled about it. The two that acted to get postions of authority got the others mad! I believe Christ set them all straight when He said: (Mark 10:45) For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many. Thank you! |

7 | what did Jesus mean by whatsoever right? | Matt 20:4 | ROGER459 | 131148
In that day, a person was paid 'a days pay - for a day's work!' They were "Paid Daily", not as we are weekly or bi-weekly. The keeper told them that he would pay, 'the day's pay for the day's work!' (Matt 20:13) But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a day wages? Those that worked all day long, through the heat of the day, expected to get paid a full days wages, and they were. But those that worked only one hour, were paid for a full day Also! Those that worked all day long, thought that is was Un-Fair that those that only worked one hour should get the same pay. I believe this to be 'A Word Picture' of Salvation! Those of us, that have been saved some time, and those that will be saved a short time, "all recieve Salvation!" Those 'other sheep' in John 10:16 is a good example. Christ - our Good Sheppherd will all treat us the same in salvation, but our rewards for service to Him will differ according to our Gifts, and the use of those gifts for the Kingdom of God! Thank you! |

8 | What is meant by the' greater sin'? | John 19:11 | ROGER459 | 131147
(Luke 12:48) But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. In the above verse, you can see that 'to whom much is given is much required!' Sin can be either Single or Plural. "All unrighteousness is Sin, [1John 5:17]. (James 4:17) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. The Pharassees, the Religious RULLERS, knew the Word, but rejected it, because they said: (John 11:48-52) If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on Him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.(John 11:49) And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, (John 11:50) Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. (John 11:51) And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; (John 11:52) And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. They were religious, but had no interest in the Redemption offered by Jesus! They had the "GREATER SIN" because they 'knew better and still did Wrong!' Thank you! |

9 | Praying for someone | Bible general Archive 2 | ROGER459 | 131146
(John 10:16) And other sheep I [Jesus] have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice [Word]; and there shall be one fold, and one Shepherd. Things may appear to get worse, only from a human perspective! If you are praying for the Salvation of someone, then Satan does not want to loose the one. The "KEY" is to "Not Stop PRAYING!" Continue to Pray for the "I AM, Christ" will continue to work to bring in His Kingdom! (Luke 18:1-8) And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18:2) Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: (Luke 18:3) And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. (Luke 18:4) And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; (Luke 18:5) Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. (Luke 18:6) And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.(Luke 18:7) And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? (Luke 18:8) I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth? The KEY here is the part, "Shall HE find faith on the Earth?' Does that mean that most people stopped parying because they had no more "Faith in God and His answeres to the petitions of His children?" KEEP ON PRAYING! Thank you! |

10 | Determine if the wife was a virgin or no | Amos 1:1 | ROGER459 | 131142
(Deuteronomy 22:14-17) And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:(Deut 22:15) Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: (Deut 22:16) And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; (Deut 22:17) And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. SPECIAL NOTE: in todays culture with all the Sex protrayed on TV, in Songs, in Videos and Movies, it takes a Committed Parnet[s] to keep a woman a vigin for her future husband. The mother is the primary keeper of that treasure, as she has to portray that Holiness of 1Peter 3:1-6. As a girl sees it modled by 'her mother' and she has a relationship with Christ, she will keep herself "pure and chaste' for her future husband! Thank you! |

11 | Is Jesus just the vessel, not prayed to? | John 10:30 | ROGER459 | 131109

12 | Date or time for an answer to prayer? | Job 24:1 | ROGER459 | 131108
(Hebrews 10:36) For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Answers to Prayers may come "Only at the discretion of God." Perhaps this will give you an indication of God's response? Please note a 'clear conscience' is the prerequisite in these verses, as well as in Psalms "66:18" (James 5:16-17-18) Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.(Jam 5:17) Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.(Jam 5:18) And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. (Isaian 55:8-9) For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD. (Isa 55:9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Prayer is our communication back to God, to bring our will in line with the Kingdom of God and His Word. You may pray God's Word back to Him! He said it, it is Truth, then pray it back to Him, as in Acts 17:30! [sample only] FATHER GOD, I ask that You would give [insert a name here] Repentance as You said in Your Word, in Jesus Name, Amen! Perhpas if you will view John 17:all as a pattern for Prayer? Thank you! |

13 | Yet Another Opinion on Baptism, Part 2 | Amos 1:1 | ROGER459 | 131069
(John 19:30) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. This is call "The Finished Work of Christ!" One Complete Sacrifice for All Time. There nothing that can be added, as Christ paid the price requirement of God, i.e. (1Corinthians 5:7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: YES! Christ is our Passover. That one Sin sacrifice for all time. Actuall in the Greek, "it is finished" is a Legal Term. All the legal requirements of God, were filfulled when Christ Died, and rose again from the Dead! "According to the Scriptures!" That is how our belief is required, as Christ said in John 7:38. That is why the Word says, (Ephesians 1:12-14) That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ. (Eph 1:13) In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, (Eph 1:14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory. Salvation is the Holy Spirit, that seals a Believer, and keeps him till the Body is redeemed by the return of Christ. Water Baptism cannot add anything to the Finished Work of Christ. Without the Holy Spirit, one cannot be called a real believer, not matter what they 'think!' The Word is the final authority, over all doctrine. No church can dictate what we are to believe. No doctrine written by man can tell us what we are to believe. The Final Word says, (Luke 4:4) And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God. Thank you! |
