Bible Question:
Is Jesus just the vehicle and not to be prayed to? My Question has to do with Matt. 6:5-15 "The Lord's Prayer". These words are from Christ Jesus himself telling us to pray like this....Our Father in heaven... My Question is: Is he specifically telling us that when we pray at any given time that we should be praying to "The Father" alone and NOT to Jesus. Not giving glory to Jesus by praying to him. Example being in Luke: 8:49-51 "I am not possessed by a demaon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. I am not seekinf glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my work he will never see death." When people pray, "Lord Jesus", are they praying directly to Jesus therefore giving him glory and not the Father, or is it just a title and entry into the thanksgiving and requests? Jesus also says that I am the way the truth and the life. So he is telling us to follow his examples. In this he always turns to the father when he prays. So, should we be only addressing the Father and not Jesus himself? |
Bible Answer: SIMPLE ANSWER: (1Tiothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Jesus 'is not the way shower' But is the WAY! Please read the Lords Prayer in John 17:all and see that pattern in the light of the above verse. Thank you! |
