1 | What was the true meaning of livestock? | Gen 2:16 | NYP | 152296
Clearly, they were meat eaters after Adam. There is no scriptural answer as to whether Adam And Eve ate meat though. I tend to believe that after they sinned Adam and Eve may have become meat eaters. God clothed them with the skins of animals. Prior to their sin the only reference to their diet was in Genesis 3:17. As to "livestock," it is doubtful that Adam needed to "use" them, unless it was to "keep the grass mowed." |

2 | Who will be saved? Few, Many or All? | Rom 3:23 | NYP | 152291
One is born again by the renewing of the mind. Salvation is only for the elect, the chosen ones, those of whom He forknew. The "all" you refer to, is the all who, by His grace, through faith, come to Him. This is how many fables and false doctrines come about. Someone stumbles on one verse or passage and takes it totally out of context with scripture as a whole. The Bible MUST be taken as a WHOLE. Not a bit here and a piece there. This is like, just eating the onions out of the pot of stew. The meat and other vegetables are totally overlooked, and the person misses the overall flavor. That person will "think" they know what that particular stew tastes like, but in reality, they haven't the slightest idea what they missed. |

3 | Can a save person mis heaven? | Rom 3:23 | NYP | 152286
Sorry. I misunderstood your post. If Heb 6:4-6 is read as it is written, without "unneeded interpretation and redefining of the words used," your answer is obvious. Heb 6:4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, Heb 6:5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, Heb 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. Again it is stated in 2Pe 2:20-22 " For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 2Pe 2:21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. 2Pe 2:22 It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A DOG RETURNS TO ITS OWN VOMIT," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire." " No doubt, many disagree. But their disbelief does not change the truth of the Word. |

Me tinks stoe. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 3:23 For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. Rom 7:15 |

5 | Will the real NYP please stand? :-) | Heb 6:4 | NYP | 151163
Really? NYP is for Not Yet Perfect. Not Yet just wasn't finished. I didn't know I had joined twice. No wonder my posts don't seem to be getting counted. Now I have to remember Which one I used on those other sights. I wish life wasn't so complicated in this cyber age... Can I somehow get Not Yet combined with NYP? I would rather stay NYP. It is simpler. Thanks Hank |

6 | Tongues in different settings? | 1 Cor 14:22 | NYP | 151147
Your words are wise, so I trust you will understand the following. Whatever you do, preserver. You may, or may not soon find the answer you seek. In Gods Word, what today appears contradictory to those who "trust in His word," will tomorrow, come to light. There is so much more than just the words we read in scripture. I have trusted in Proverbs 3:5-6 many times. Some answers were over 30 years in coming. Many came shortly, when I wasn’t even looking for them. |

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:28 The only problem is with man kind and the radical beliefs of some. Hopefully the Christian will be the stronger of the two, and bring the JW to the Lord. My Cousin had this same question. Her husband is now a Christian. |

9 | Why michal had no children | 2 Sam 6:23 | NYP | 150570
And David was dancing before the LORD with all his might, and David was wearing a linen ephod. 2 Samuel 6:14. An Ephod was representative of priestly divination. Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. 6:16 No doubt, Michal condemned David in her heart for what she considered the undignified actions of a King. Under the circumstances, and considering Davids having "disrobed in sight of the slave girls," v:20, one might consider Michal within her rights as his wife, yet one should keep in mind that even a King must humble himself before the Lord who exalts. 1 Sa 2:7-8 No doubt, Michal's condemnation to the disgrace of childlessness, was a dirrect result of her condemnation of the one to whom she had vowed allegiance, both as King and husband. |

10 | Did Jeptanath kill his daugter? | Ex 20:13 | NYP | 150378
Scripture really doesn't say, but according to the custom of the times, it is likely that unless God interveened, though it would not have been an acceptiable sacrifice, Jeptanath did sacrifice his daughter. I was speechless when I first read that passage. It shows what a fool we can be when we make rash vows. The Lord had already told him, he would be successful. |

12 | Bible versions which one is best | Bible general Archive 2 | NYP | 150349
Dear soul, your question is very dear to my heart, for I once had the same question. I simply could not understand everything I read in the KJV. No doubt, there are probably many good "versions" out there. Keep in mind though, that it is just as likely that there are just as many "bad" versions. The differentiation of good and bad has to be derived from something, and for me, that something is naturally the KJV. Every version I have ever read up on, claims to be based on some early transcripts with other versions in mind. I feel that the Lord showed me the NIV, (something I could understand,) when I needed it most, right after it was first printed in it’s entirety, yet I am more than a little leery of the later versions put out by Zondervan, which publishes NIV. I have compared the original NIV to the KJ and the Interlinear Greek and Hebrew versions and found that none are perfect, yet I know that the Holy Spirit will lead those who diligently seek Him and His word of truth. It is this fact that I have come to depend on. Salvation is the key. Everything else in scripture is for learning and growth. Personally, I study from the NIV, NASB, KJV, MKJV, NKJV, Greek and Hebrew Interlinear, and a half dozen or so other versions. If you are just beginning your studies, I’d recommend you pick one version as your primary, then use others to explain what you may not understand in it. Good versions all agree in their substance. If they differ dramatically from the majority, don’t use them. Some attempt to be literal, and some attempt only to be paraphrasures of the original scroles. |

13 | How could Lucifer become sinful,prideful | Bible general Archive 2 | NYP | 150341
Disobeying God is a sinful choice. So is pride. Considering the fact that God made both the angels, and man with a "free will", there was, and always will be plenty of evil to choose from. He wants us to worship and love Him of our own choice. If He had made the angels or us any other way, we would be nothing more than robots. |

14 | where proverbs 25-29 lost? | Prov 25:1 | NYP | 148878

15 | How will I reach spiritual maturity | Eph 4:15 | NYP | 148537
Gods voice will never tell us anything which is contrary yo His written word. Please don't think mine a smart answer, but 2 Timothy 2:15 comes to mind. I like the way KJ puts it. "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, --rightly dividing the word of truth.--" NYP |

16 | Notes that have barbes? | Eph 4:15 | NYP | 148536
Hi JustMe. This is my first post, and yours happened to be the first I read which I felt solicited my thoughts, or questions, however they may wind up. Being relatively familiar with the Word, I understand your thoughts. I can't help but to wonder though; Should one avoid a "sensitive issue" just because it is that? Rather, when Christians do not agree, should we not simply learn to agree to disagree and put the fleshly inclinations aside? Harsh words only breed more of the same. I try to make each day, each action and reaction, a learning experience. This is why I call myself NYP. "Not Yet Perfect." I can hardly wait until I am perfect... NYP |
