6 | dealing with a nonbeliever sister | John 13:35 | Jules | 84712
Your roommate will know soon that your faith means everything to you. Though we do better to exemplify His life than to force our faith, your frustration is understandable. I've lived by myself a long time, so know your situation is different. However, my heart for the lost understands how much her refusal to believe may be hard to deal with.
7 | two questions please | James 2:14 | Jules | 58438
As long as the belief is in Jesus, salvation is certain. Ephesians 2:8-9 shows, however, that work is not how we are saved. We are saved by grace through faith alone. Dead faith can be made alive.
8 | Are we prepared? | Rev 19:7 | Jules | 57680
In Acts 2:21, we see that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Jesus sees us as perfect creations as soon as we transfer Him into us. He remakes us by being in the heart and transferring us to His kingdom of light. Ephesians 5:8 is an encouraging verse.
9 | "Ask and you shall receive" | Matt 7:7 | Jules | 57679
Asking for the filling of the Holy Spirit and for complete healing are good requests. Like you expressed, there are not easy answers in the realm of healing physical infirmities. Faith and mercy are one in the same according to the Hebrews expression of faith-"evidence of things unseen." Just as we read about mercy in the Bible, we may have faith that God gives His mercy to those who die before we want them to. Historically, God has taken young people to heaven because they were good. God knows who will appreciate His kingdom. Although loved ones on this side of heaven may not want the loved one to be with God, God wants him. God is sovereign and always wins.
10 | DELIVER MY MIND | Rom 12:2 | Jules | 57333
Romans 12:2 is: Conform no longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Eph 6:14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, Eph 6:15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; Eph 6:16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Eph 6:17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, Eph 6:19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, Eph 6:20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. |

John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." Being saved is accepting Jesus' sacrifice as the only price which God could accept to buy us back. |

13 | history of Mark | Mark | Jules | 14803
Mark recorded the life of Jesus according to the eyewitness account given by Peter and other apostles. Mark was the sone of Mary, whose home in Jerusalem seemed to be a center for Christian leaders. Mark went with his well-to-do cousin Barnabus to Antioch in Syria, from where both accompanied Paul on his first missionary journey. Mark, however, left Paul and Barnabus at Cyprus and returned to Jerusalem (Acts 13:13). Later Barnabus and Mark went to Cyprus, whil Paul departed for Asia Minor. About ten years later Mark was with Paul in Rome (II Tim 4:11;Col 4:10). Mark's close association with Peter is indicated in 1 Peter 5:13, where the latter speaks of Mark as "my son." It may have been during Peter's lifetime, or shortly after his death, that Mark wrote the Gospel bearing his name. Mark frequently records the reactions of Jesus, as well as others. Jesus is portrayed as a Man of action. Although Mark is not noted for extended character sketches, his peculiar portrayal of individuals is often intriguing. -from Amplified Bible |
