1 | can a soul that has died, be reposed? | Heb 9:27 | FTimA | 65458
I believe that the catechism is nothing but "interpretation" composed by men. Once a person dies, as you cited, a soul's fate is sealed, "then cometh judgment". Indulgences paid by people is one of the ways the "universal" church became as wealthy as it is, taking advantage of people, teaching them that they could pay money to saved a lost loved ones' soul. Where is this teaching in the bible? Keep the faith, teragram123! |

2 | Is there a passsage that speaks about th | Rev 1:1 | FTimA | 65338
The "rapture" is a concept devised by men. The word is not even found in the bible. Passages that do deal with the end are as follows. 1 Thess 5:2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 2 Pet 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. 2 Pet 3:11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 2 Pet 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! 1 Thess 4:13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 1 Thess 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 1 Thess 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 1 Thess 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 1 Cor 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. |

3 | Can We Put God in the Dock? | John 3:16 | FTimA | 65336
God has done all He can for man. I would think the obligation lies within man. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:19 "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. John 3:20 "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. John 3:21 "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God." |

4 | Was Jesus Christ circumsized? | NT general Archive 1 | FTimA | 65046
Yes he was. Read Luke chapter 2. While under the old covenant, as God, he would have had to obey His own law. Jesus was also baptized under John's baptism of repentance. What did Jesus have to repent of? In his own words, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Matthew 3:13, 14 "Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” 15But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” |

5 | Where was Jesus for 3 days after death? | Luke 23:46 | FTimA | 65003
Ps 16:10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay. In Acts 2:25 Peter, quoting the above scripture, says, "For David says of Him, (Jesus, fta) 'I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN. 26 'THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE; 27 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. 28 'YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.' Acts 2:29 "Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 "And so, because he was a prophet and knew that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE, 31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY. (NKJ says "that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption".) I understand Hell to be the eternal condemnation for those who have not obeyed God. Hades is the realm of souls prior to judgment. Could we conclude from the above scripture that Jesus was in Sheol/Hades during this time? |

7 | FTimA, Who is speaking (John 10:28-30)? | Matt 22:37 | FTimA | 64539
Your statement of "In this passage, Christ explicitly declared that no one who has received eternal life will ever lose it." is the one I was referring to, not the scripture. Who said it? You said it. John 10:28,29 "and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. Jesus does not say, "no one who has received eternal life will ever lose it", he says, "I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand." and "no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand." The key phrases here are "neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand" and "and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand." These two phrases introduce a 3rd person, not the individual Christian (ANYONE SNATCH THEM, NO ONE SNATCH THEM). I will agree that if I am a Christian and pattern my life after Christ that no one, if I am faithful and strong, can pull me away from my faith. This does not mean that I myself cannot become weak and fall back into worldly living. Do you see the difference? The words "no one" represent a person or persons other than the "them" that Christ gave eternal life to. |

9 | Bible facts | 2 Pet 1:21 | FTimA | 64429
It is difficult to know exactly how many men were involved in writing the books of the bible because in some cases the text does not reveal who the book was written by. Through comparison of other books though, authorship has been attributed to a person, e.g. Hebrews doesn't actually say it was written by Paul but the style leans toward his favor. The number of authors that I know of is approximately 40 and the span is anywhere from 1400 to 1700 years in duration.
10 | The soul and the mind | Matt 22:37 | FTimA | 64170
How then would you define what the soul of man is?
11 | Please answer the actual question friend | Matt 22:37 | FTimA | 64155
Dictionary.com defines the soul, in this context, as "The animating and vital principle in humans, credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion and often conceived as an immaterial entity. The spiritual nature of humans, regarded as immortal, separable from the body at death, and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state. The disembodied spirit of a dead human. I cannot find a scripture in the bible that specifically defines what a soul is. The spirit, the soul, the mind, the heart, these to me are all parts of a whole. If you want a definitive answer from the bible I would recommend an exhaustive concordance. |

12 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | FTimA | 64128
Read 2 Peter 2:18-22. A person can obey the gospel and be baptized for the remission of their sins. They are raised "from the watery grave of baptism" to a new life. Afterwards it is possible for this individual to turn back to their old life of sin. This would exclude them from a "saved" state. Only repentance and prayer for forgiveness can restore them.
13 | What is the 'soul' really? | Matt 22:37 | FTimA | 64127
The soul is your inner consciousness and all that it is made up of. This would include intellect, emotions, etc. Remove all of the physical and what do you have left? The mental. This is your soul.
