1 | My mom is praying to saints for | Jude 1:9 | Christian Marine | 30709
The Gospels teach that Jesus is our intercessor. Paul tells us that we, as believers, are higher than the angels! These verses say nothing about Michael interceeding about Moses' soul, just his body! In First Corinthians, Paul tells us this body is of no use to us once we die. Ask your Mom to show you where the Bible says pray to anyone other than God! Jesus is there! We are His and He will intercede if we pray in His name. I always consider that a "reminder", if you will, to God that I am one of Jesus' boys! (Little Scritual humor! God doesn't need me to remind Him of anythnig!) Ask leading questins and then let the Holy Spirit guide her to the truth. In Christ's Name! |

2 | WHAT WAS IT BEFORE IT " BECAME"? | Genesis | Christian Marine | 30705
Good question and one I don't think God intends us to know in this life. Actually, it is probalby none of our business! He said it, He created it, He did it, we are to believe it, 'nuff said! I'm now teaching a study verse by verse in Genesis. Interesting that God gives details he feels we need to know, Chapter 2 of Gen. details the creation of Man, and does not give them at other times. I surmise that means it ain't none of my concern. Look for Vernan McGee's first book on Gen. He spends a LOT of time on this. Love in Christ! |

3 | Help with Hosea???? | Hos 13:14 | Christian Marine | 30702
I agree with what others have said. I do not have my Bible here at work BUT, I can assure you that once your UNBELIEVING friend becomes a BELIEVER he or she will understnad more than any of us can tell her. Scripture tells us that the eyes of the unbeliever are, for the most part, blinded to the truths in the Bible. Prayer will allow the Holy Spirit indwelling you to speak to him or her. Just like a starving man, we must get them fed before they can do it themselves. Therefore, you must be used of God to show him or her the way to Slavatin before he or she will start to understand. I will be praying that God empowers you to be an example and guide to salvation for your friend. God Bless! |

4 | What about those who never heard of JC ? | Bible general Archive 1 | Christian Marine | 30699
In Romans Paul tells us that the evidence of God in our surroundings is to make us seek him. Look at the Etheopian eunic. He was seeking and God put Phillip in his life to teach him. I think Scripture teaches us that IF we ignore the evidence and commit blaspfame(sp) by dying without accepting Jesus, then we do go to hell. His creation is to inspire us to seek him. Thing is, when I get to Heaven, I don't want God to ask me why I didn't talk to someone about him and then find out I was the one God had chosen to be there at the minute that person was seeking the truth. Big responsibility, to reflect Christ to this world, I think. Read Romans, use a study Bible and follow the references. |

5 | What is your opinion of interpretation? | NT general Archive 1 | Christian Marine | 30693
I believe the the Lord taught us that some things we will not know here. He also told Thomas that, to paraphrase, Faith is more important than Knowledge. I think that all the answers we NEED are in scripture. I believe the Holy Spirit will reveal them to us as we are able to understand them, not before. I think it helps to read and study other more focused and/or spiritually mature commentators but we must NOT substitute their "interpretations" for the absolutes in the Bible. Their work is the result of the Holy Spirit talking to them. He may use them and their knowledge to speak to us but we cannot substitute their writings for study of God's word and prayer for understanding. Just my opinion!
