1 | big-bang theory | Bible general Archive 1 | phruubeljiie | 65806
The big bang theory, in my opinion, is proof that God created the Universe. In summary, it goes like this- the universe is empty space. Science cannot prove God exists, so it drops the issue. All of a sudden, there's this huge flash of light (Genesis 1:3, "And God said, Let there be Light! And there was light) that science blames on helium exploding. Slowly (a day is like a thousand years to God, remember, so 'God created earth in Seven days' might be symbolic) and He slowly creates stars, planets, and eventually life. Science is humans' feeble ability to explain the unexplainable.

URGENT! Examples of humans not nursing weak: Abortion. An unborn child is about as weak as it gets, and still people try to pass laws making it okay to create an infanticide holocaust. Euthanasia. If someone decides to give up on life, in some states doctors are legally allowed to give lethal injections. Giving children up to adoption. If a child is born with cerebral palsy or a birth defect, it may end up on the list of children to adopt. If not, the parents may have a hard time finding enough money to pay for medications this child needs to stay alive. Glorifying suicide. Stopping life support. The next day, a cure for whatever this person's affliction is may be invented, and when you pull the respirator away you're literally committing murder. Examples of animals nursing weak: Elephants. If an elephant is wounded, the entire herd stays to protect the wounded one. In fact, if you lead an elephant to the skeleton of an elephant it has known (a parent, sibling or child) then the living elephant will carress the bones, almost mournfully. Baboons. Wonder why baboons pick the flies out of each others' fur? Wolves. Wolves always fight as a pack, bringing back meat for their pups instead of forcing the cubs to hunt. Along that line, birds. Is this some 'Natural instinct'? |

3 | measure day\night no sun or stars | Gen 1:3 | phruubeljiie | 72567
Easy enough, light is created by photons and radioactive hydrogen burning. Now, these hydrogen atoms that God spilled across the sky eventually became attracted to each other through gravity and, over millions of years (remember a day is like a thousand years to God:) ) condensed to form stars. Secondly, even gases tend to be attracted to each other through gravity, so while God rotated the earth eventually the side of the earth that the Middle East rests on faced away from the hydrogen atoms, thus creating night. A meter will always equal a meter, no matter if you have a meterstick to measure it or not. Incidentally, remind your friend of this. "Thou shall not challenge the Lord thy God." Matthew, 4:7 Love in Christ, and may you win this unbeliever to the Lord (they sound smart), Phruubeljiie |

4 | attempt to merge philosophy, logic, and? | Gen 1:26 | phruubeljiie | 65646
Hello Pastor Glenn! I'm only an amateur at bible study, but here's my best guess: Granted, God is not bound by the laws of physics, the laws of physics are created and bound by God. However, we as humans must look at what our comparatively tiny minds can comprehend. For instance, if you dropped a rock and it went up or flew laterally instead of falling down, would you be confused or would you feel this is the work of God? Physics and logic are our attempt to predict how things will work, though of course God can go on manual override at any time. |

5 | What does it mean man is head of woman | Gen 1:27 | phruubeljiie | 65805
Hello Ames! I'm guessing that the man is responsible for making a living and making decisions that relate to the unity in marriage. After all, God talks about how in marriage a man and a woman become one. However, if God created women in his own image, too, it doesn't make sense for him to force a woman to be controlled by a man. Can you imagine what could have happened if Mother Teresa were married to a dominating Atheist husband? When it comes to the pair as a twosome the man makes decisions, but when it's a question of just one human and God the woman has a right to free will.
6 | Woman weaker partner | Gen 1:27 | phruubeljiie | 65972
Dear Edna, Where does it mention woman as weaker sex? I have seen female athletes beat male ones in Olympic finals, and I have seen women as doctors and lawyers and senators... Mother Teresa does not appear spiritually weak, and nor do the 50 percent of the saints that are female, and neither do Mary or Rachel or Deborah the prophetess... If anything I am guessing physically, since the male center of gravity is at the shoulder, thus providing more upper body strength, and the female center of gravity is at the hips to aid in childbirth. It is a lot harder to deliver a child than to lift a log or brick. |

7 | joseph tell meaning of dreams? | Gen 41:38 | phruubeljiie | 69670
Joseph could tell the meaning of dreams because he was divinely inspired to know the meaning of Pharoah's dreams. In order for God to protect Joseph's family from the coming famine, he had to establish Joseph in a position of power, of which there are few in a land full of nomads. Best you can get in a relatively nomadic Israel is caravan leader, with relatively no ability to stockpile food. So, God 'borrowed' Pharoah's resources to protect his people. This was Joseph's destiny as decreed by God and was not achieved by Joseph's working for it. He was chosen, as specified in the verse- chosen to stand in the spirit of God.
8 | I belive this inline with mt 13-37-38 | Matt 13:24 | phruubeljiie | 65808
God's word did not die, it's impossible to really kill anything that God creates since when we die we go to either Heaven, Hell or Purgatory... It's like that new practice of freezing bodies that are still alive, to be defrosted 50 years later. God's will is put into storage like some bibles sit on mantelpieces gathering dust. The seed is still perfectly able to be transplanted in better soil, like if the person who owned the bible on the mantelpiece dies, and that bible is sent to an estate sale. A missionary picks up that bible and ships it off to Zimbabwe or somewhere where that bible is a priceless treasure to a poor family.
9 | why butler remembered joseph? | Luke 23:42 | phruubeljiie | 69672
Logically, the butler was fearing for his life. As far as the Egyptians were concerned, you lived life to its fullest, and then you died, and when you died you either became the Jewish equivalent to a seraphim or your soul was eaten by this terrifying monster called Ammit (or Ahmit). The butler knew he wasn't pristine, so he was fearing for his life- not to mention whether he had a family to go home to, or others who loved and depended on him. Joseph gave that butler hope when the butler had no hope, and Joseph also gave the baker a chance to get right with God before he was brought before the Old Testemant equivalent of a firing squad. Frankly, I think the question is why the butler didn't remember Joseph and praise him to Pharoah immediately.
10 | WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THE VERSE ? | John 14:1 | phruubeljiie | 69675
This is spoken directly to those who believe Jesus was a great teacher/mentor, or a great prophet, but do not believe he was God. It is also spoken to those who believe that Jesus never existed, or the Christmas-and-Easter Christians who think the Bible is full of morality stories but are hesitant to FROG (Fully Rely On God). It's spoken to us when we're alone and afraid and faced with the difficult choice to do God's will or to do our will or to do the will of someone trying to demand and control us, and it's God telling us that he loves us, always has, and always will.
11 | god tell happen to egypt? | Acts 2:17 | phruubeljiie | 69674
Remember that in the past as well as now, some people hold special significance to dreams- almost as if they were prophetic, or a direct link to God through the subconscious. Bear with me, I know I'm sounding like a televangelist but I do have a point. See Genesis 41:25-32. God's gift in dream to Pharoah was this prediction: seven years of bounty, and that bounty would slowly be consumed by seven years of famine. After the fourteen years, the after-effects would be those of famine, not of bounty, so the sick ears of corn and the sick cows were left, but no sign of the healthy corn or cows.
12 | PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS PASSAGE | Rom 8:28 | phruubeljiie | 72561
It means, in short, that there is no such thing as destiny or chance. Everything that was, is, and will be is a part of God's eternal plan in which everything that can go right, will. Anything that you may see as a disaster is what's best for you to bring you closer to God.
13 | come out | 1 Cor 1:13 | phruubeljiie | 69679
Absolutely not! Didn't Saint Paul say, "Let there be no division among you"? One of my best friends is Hindu, and many of them are Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, and one Buddhist. Christ sent you here and gave you His love and His message not so you could parrot it back to people who already know it but so you could spread the word to people who don't, or people who don't understand it. If you have a very good friend who isn't Christian, don't you want to give them a chance to get to know the guy who died for them? I think your verse means that you shouldn't act like those who believe there is no God, no Heaven, no Hell, etc. Be seperate spiritually, not physically. If you learn to alienate people on Earth, you don't want to risk that transferring to Heaven.
