1 | What does numbers 1-12 represent ? | Bible general Archive 3 | Jagfire | 172184
The number 7 is completion and perfection. The number 40 is usually the number of punishment, trial, or kind of a "probation." Usually a time span like 40 days. There's also 666 of course, but remember there is not a meaning behind every number in the Bible. Most of the time a number is simply a number. We don't need to search for secret meanings or the like in God's word. |

3 | what's the duty of an deacon | Bible general Archive 3 | Jagfire | 175221
The title “deacon” comes from the Greek word for “servant” or “slave”.... This points to their role as servants (as pictured in Acts 6:1-7). The responsibilities of a deacon will vary depending on the form of church government.. All that the Bible specifically states concerning their responsibilities is that they are to be servant-leaders.
4 | How Can be a satan in heaven? | Gen 1:1 | Jagfire | 172194
God cast Satan out of heaven (Isaiah 14:15, Eze 28:16). There is no Satan in heaven. In the beginning before the separation of heaven/hell is the only time Satan was in paradise. Hope this helps.
5 | Who made angel to talk against god | Gen 1:1 | Jagfire | 172195
Satan fell because of pride. He thought he could become greater than God, and he wanted to do just that. (Isaiah 14:12 and the "I will" statements). Satan wanted to be God.
6 | When was the separation of heaven/hell? | Gen 1:1 | Jagfire | 172203
If Satan resided in heaven, it would contradict the many descriptions of heaven in the Bible. For example, The sinful are not in Heaven, but the lake of fire (Rev 21:8) Nothing impure will ever enter Heaven (Rev 21:27) Outside of Heaven are those who sin (Rev22:15) |

7 | Adam , Eve redemed, forgiven or lost? | Gen 3:15 | Jagfire | 173469
The Bible doesn't specifically say but Adam and Eve were the only 2 people to know about God before sin entered the world.. They probably still knew God better after their fall than any of us do today. They definitely believed in and depended on God. God provided for them after their fall. In Gen 3:15 we see that they both knew of God's promise to provide a savior.
8 | Gen 4:17 | Gen 5:4 | Jagfire | 176663
Cain's wife was his sister or niece or great-niece, etc: Adam and Eve had surely had more children than just Cain and Abel at the time Abel was killed - they definitely had many more children later, see Genesis 5:4. The fact that Cain was scared for his own life after he killed Abel tells that there were likely many other children and perhaps even grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Adam and Eve at that time. Cain's wife was a daughter or granddaughter of Adam and Eve. Since Adam and Eve were the first human beings, their children would have no other choice than to intermarry. God did not forbid inter-family marriage until much later when there was enough people that intermarriage was not necessary.
9 | burned his son alive as a sacrifice | Gen 22:2 | Jagfire | 172450
God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. Isaac was a son of promise, and even so, Abraham immediately began his journey bringing along his son and firewood for the sacrifice. If you read the chapter, though, it turns out God stops Abraham, calling him faithful for following through. Isaac is never actually sacrificed.
10 | Why did God hate Esau? | Gen 27:29 | Jagfire | 173400
The Apostle Paul is using the name “Esau” to refer to the Edomites, who were the descendants of Esau. Isaac and Rebekah had two sons, Esau and Jacob. God chose Jacob (later renamed Israel) to be the father of His chosen people, the Israelites. God rejected Esau (who was also called Edom), and did not choose him to be the father of His chosen people. Esau’s and his descendants, the Edomites, were in many ways blessed by God (Genesis 33:9; Genesis chapter 36). So taking this into account God loving Jacob and hating Esau has nothing to do with the human emotions of love and hate.. It has everything to do with God choosing one man and his descendants and rejecting another man and his descendants. God choose Abraham out of all the men in the world. The Bible very well could say, “Abraham I loved, and every other man I hated.” God choose Abraham’s son Isaac instead of Abraham’s son Ishmael. The Bible very well could say, “Isaac I loved, and Ishmael I hated.” Romans chapter 9 makes it clear that loving Jacob and hating Esau was related to which of them God chose. Hundreds of years after Jacob and Esau had died, the Israelites and Edomites became enemies. The Edomites aided Israel’s enemies in attacks on Israel. Esau’s descendants brought God’s curse on themselves. |

11 | Where do i find it | Lev 18:22 | Jagfire | 172300
The Bible doesn't exactly say "no man shall marry a man," although based on Scripture it is clear that the statement is supported by the Bible. Scripture consistently puts down homosexual acts as sin (Rom 1:26-27 1 Cor 6:9 Gen 19:1-13)

13 | Is it forbidden by gods law to marry out | Deut 7:3 | Jagfire | 173404
The Old Testament law commanded the Israelites not to engage in interracial marriage in Deuteronomy 7:3-4. But the reason for this is that the Israelites would be led astray from God if they intermarried with idol worshippers, pagans, or heathens.
14 | freedom from evil | Prov 26:2 | Jagfire | 172989
This verse means that silly curses have no effect. Nobody really has the power to speak curses over you because God is the only one able to claim judgement. Being saved, I don't have to worry about being cursed, or put under some witchcraft spell, hex, or voodoo because I've been freed to worship God. See John 8:36.

16 | Who or what is GOG refers to in the Bibl | Ezek 38:2 | Jagfire | 172372
Gog will be the leader of a great army that attacks Israel in the end times (as part of a prophecy). Gog is "the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal," from the north "the land of Magog" (Eze 38:2-3). Ezekiel prophetically describes Gog attacking Israel in chapters 38 and 39 of Ezekiel. Gog will be defeated by God on a mountain of Israel. And you know what's awesome? The Bible even says this will be such a slaughter that it will take 7 months to bury all of the dead people. (Eze 39:12) The Book of Revelation also mentions Gog and Magog in 20:7. Some say that Gog and Magog could be Russia and/or China. This could be true but it's not specifically clear in the Bible. |

17 | what prophet had a vision of a statue | Dan 2:31 | Jagfire | 172542
In Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar has a dream that only Daniel can correctly interpret. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a great statue represented the kingdoms that would arise in the future. Daniel chapter 3 shows Nebuchadnezzar making a great statue and forcing everyone to worship it. I am not sure about the different metals it was composed of, but I think it may have been of gold.

These are just other names for God. Yahweh/Jehovah are mentioned in Deut 6:4 and Daniel 9:14. "El" is another name meaning "strong" - see Genesis 7:1. |

Here are my favorite verses of the chapter. verse 4, "Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down," declares the LORD." verse 12, "You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble." verse 15, "The day of the LORD is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head." |

20 | christians being persecuted | Matt 5:10 | Jagfire | 173274
our salvation, I am sorry to hear this... Jesus said that persecution for His sake was inevitable. He encourages us to take heart in the persecution - He even calls the persecuted one “blessed” and tells us to “rejoice and be exceedingly glad for your reward in heaven is great” - Matthew 5:10-12. The Old Testament prophets were persecuted, reviled, tortured, killed and in one case sawn in half (Hebrews 11:37). All the Apostles (except John) were killed for preaching Christ. Tradition says that Peter insisted on being crucified upside down because he said he was unworthy to die in the same manner as his Lord. Yet he wrote in his first letter “If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you” - (1 Peter 4:14) The Apostle Paul was jailed, beaten and stoned numerous times for preaching Christ, but he considered his sufferings not even worth mentioning compared to the glory he knew awaited him (see Romans 8). The cost seems high, I know. But there are earthly rewards as well as heavenly ones: Jesus has promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age(Matthew 28:20) He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) He knows our pain and suffering (1 Peter 2:21) His love for us knows no end, and He will never test us beyond our ability to withstand it and will always provide a way out from under it (1 Corinthians 10:13) |
