1 | Brother's harsh letter - re: Mormon | Bible general Archive 1 | Bud Freshour | 71960
Dear Lady First, not to be a jerk to your brother he needs to get a Bible or read the one he has. now that is harsh words and they should never be spoken because the Word of God says that we should do are best to live at peace with people if it is possible and with family it seems to be more imposible than posible. take heart Jesus has not forsaken you at all. God love sinner and his children even if they mess up. First let us deal with your brothers behavor: he, if he is right should teach with respect 2 Timothy 2 23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, now about his really bad idea about divorcing your current husband God would not look good on that type of advice because you cover your husband spiritaly. and you are not part of the devil remember the verse that says 1 Corinthians 7 13 And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. I hope this help you and may the peace of God thought Jesus reign in your life today and forever Bud Freshour |

4 | Time frame between Gen 4:16 - 4:17 | Lev 18:1 | Bud Freshour | 76180
Cain’s Wife Who was Cain? Cain was the first child of Adam and Eve recorded in Scripture (Genesis 4:1). His brothers, Abel (Genesis 4:2) and Seth (Genesis 4:25), were part of the first generation of children ever born on this Earth. Cain’s Brothers and Sisters Even though only these three males are mentioned by name, Adam and Eve had other children. In Genesis 5:4 a statement sums up the life of Adam and Eve—‘And the days of Adam after he had fathered Seth were eight hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters.’ This does not say when they were born. Many could have been born in the 130 years (Genesis 5:3) before Seth was born. During their lives, Adam and Eve had a number of male and female children. The Jewish historian Josephus wrote that, ‘The number of Adam’s children, as says the old tradition, was thirty-three sons and twenty-three daughters.’11 The Bible does not tell us how many children were born to Adam and Eve. However, considering their long life spans (Adam lived for 930 years—Genesis 5:5), it would seem reasonable to suggest there were many! Remember, They were commanded to ‘Be fruitful, and multiply’ (Genesis 1:28). The Wife If we now work totally from Scripture, without any personal prejudices or other extra-Biblical ideas, then back at the beginning, when there was only the first generation, brothers would have had to have married sisters or there would be no more generations! We are not told when Cain married or any of the details of other marriages and children, but we can say for certain that some brothers had to marry their sisters at the beginning of human history. Objections God’s Laws Many people immediately reject the conclusion that Adam and Eve’s sons and daughters married each other by appealing to the law against brother-sister intermarriage. Some say that you cannot marry your relation. Actually, if you don't marry your relation, you don’t marry a human! A wife is related to her husband even before they marry because all people are descendants of Adam and Eve—all are of ‘one blood.’ The law forbidding marriage between close relatives was not given until the time of Moses (Leviticus 18–20). Provided marriage was one man to one woman for life (based on Genesis 1 and 2), there was no disobedience to God's law originally when close relatives (even brothers and sisters) married each other. Remember that Abraham married his half-sister (Leviticus 18–20). God blessed this union to produce the Hebrew people through Isaac and Jacob. It was not until some 400 years later that God gave Moses laws that forbade such marriages This and other information like this dealing with Genesis can be found at the web site http://www.answersingenesis.org And if you have trouble finding information you can write me at budfreshour@hotmail.com |

5 | Did David chop and roast the Amonites? | 1 Chr 20:1 | Bud Freshour | 76183
First I think it would be good to have some history on the Amalekites they were thoroughly corrupt You have to remember that these people were given plenty of opportunity to change their ways and to avoid all of their troubles with the Israelites. In fact, if you take all of the Canaanites along with the Amalekites they had 400 years to repent. That’s a very long time. Finally after waiting centuries to give them an opportunity to abandon their path toward self-destruction, God’s nature demanded that he deal with their willful evil Now we have to keep in mind that those who had wanted to get out of this situation had already done so; they had ample opportunity through the years. Surely the ones who wanted to be saved from destruction fled and were spared. In Joshua 6, where the bible talks about the destruction of Jericho and the Canaanites you’ve got the same pattern. This was a thoroughly evil culture; so much so that the bible says it nauseated God. They were into brutality, cruelty, incest, bestiality, cultic prostitution, even child sacrifice by fire they were a aggressive culture that wanted to annihilate the Israelites. Now to get to the question at hand about the Amalekites, you are quoting form the King James Version, and it’s open to misinterpretation there. The New International version clarifies the original Hebrew language and says David brought out the people who were there, consigning them to labor with saws and with iron picks and axes and he made them work at brick making. (That’s labor – not torture – and it’s quite humane compared to the cruelties his enemies had unleashed). Plus there are lot of places in the Bible were God records things but does not condone them (and this is another case where the bible records something but doesn’t necessarily condone it This information can be found in Case For Faith – by Lee Strobel Other resources: 1: When Critics Ask – Norman Geisler and Thomas Howe 2: When Skeptics Ask - Norman Geisler and Ronald Brooks 3: Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties – Gleason L. 6 | Additional questions for Is 6:7 | Is 6:7 | Bud Freshour | 76178
If you are talking about how sin affects people it should be understood that there are 2 types of people 1: people that have not accepted the Savior Jesus Christ 2: the people that have accepted the Savior Jesus Christ Now sin for the non-believer is going to cost them but remember they are condemned already Now for the believer we are saved and in a relationship with God that we did not have before so now sin affect 3 things: the mind, the flesh, and fellowship (not relationship) It does not affect our salvation for we who are in Christ are sealed until we are redeemed (that means heaven) however that does not mean you should act or live like a person(s) of the world either. For we harvest the seed we plant either good or bad and weather you know it or not we are always planting seed in word, action, deed, and thought. By the thing we do and even by the thinks we don’t do. Ephesians 4 30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 1: the mind – we tend to take things into our minds that stay with us for sometimes, or a long time that is why the word says (renew your Mind) Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. 2: The flesh or your body- a good example is if some one cuts themselves on purpose they could ask forgiveness and be forgiven by God nevertheless the scare will remain 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 3: our fellowship not relationship- as I have told you in the first part of this letter, if you have accepted Jesus you are not condemned because you are a son of the most High God. There is a big difference between condemnation or being condemned and discipline Hebrews 12 7As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Whoever heard of a child who was never disciplined? 8If God doesn't discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children after all. Romans 8 1So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2For the power[1] of the life-giving Spirit has freed you[2] through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death. John 3 17God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. 18"There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God. 19Their judgment is based on this fact: The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished. 21But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants." The hole thing is that if you have given your life to Jesus you will get disciplined because of sin and because he loves you, but not because he condemns you because as Romans 8: 1-2 says Jesus has taken the power of death away for those who have trusted in His Name, now if you feel you are being disciplined then ask God to show you in your life what you need to change. because it really is a choice that God lays before us it is a matter of free will God will never make you do anything you don’t want to do. but you will get disciplined if you are disobedient because he loves you another way of saying it is that you can make it easy on yourself or you can do it the hard way just remember it is a choice as God has said 19"Today I have given you the CHOICE between life and death, between blessings and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness THE CHOICE YOU MAKE. Oh, that YOU WOULD CHOOSE LIFE, that you and your descendants might live! As you can see it is about free will (it is about the Choice) Choose life, choose blessings Your sin affects your fellowship not your relationship If you would like more on this pleases write me at budfreshour@hotmail.com |

10 | "Babylon Mother of Falsehoods" | Rev 17:5 | Bud Freshour | 76182
I look up the word in the strongs The KJV New Testament Greek Lexicon Strong's Exhaustive Concordance for the word Babylon in Rev 17:5 is Babylon - "confusion" a very large and famous city, the residence of the Babylonian kings, situated on both banks of the Euphrates. Cyrus had formerly captured it, but Darius Hystaspis threw down its gates and walls, and Xerxes destroyed the temple of Belis. At length the city was reduced to almost solitude, the population having been drawn off by the neighbouring Seleucia, built on the Tigris by Seleucus Nicanor. of the territory of Babylonia allegorically, of Rome as the most corrupt seat of idolatry and the enemy of Christianity if you like to look it up in a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance the # is 897 on the greek side if you need more help or if I did not understand you question please write me at budfreshour@hotmail.com |
