1 | am i wrong? | Eph 5:8 | chris4him | 180073
doc, in light of my question, my concern is that christians may be walking around practicing sin, (even if it is telling a lie) and believing that they will be saved and not seperated from God in the judgement because of this doctrinal belief. am i wrong for assuming this? thanks, chris

4 | i'm sorry | 2 Tim 3:16 | chris4him | 166325
I'm sorry if I offended anyone.. I haven't been on this forum in quite a few months and BradK's response was the first thing on the page as I logged in. I did go back and look at the topic of the talk and watched as it progressed.. This is what spured my question to Brad. Again I would like to know how 7777 response showed denominational bias? yours in Christ chris4him
5 | denominational bias? | 2 Tim 3:16 | chris4him | 166314
Hi BradK, you seemed a little hard on 7777. Your response didn't seem very edifying. would you please explain why you don't believe (Jesus God) Who is the Word of God (John 1:1,14)and baptism make absolutely no sense and is a denominational bias when refering to this topic. Thanks in Christ chris4him |

6 | Where's the scripture? | John 2:19 | chris4him | 148480
Jesus said to the Jews if you destroy this temple in 3 days I will raise it up. (John 2:19) The disciples were there listening, and in verse 22 it says that after Jesus was raised from the dead they remembered that (word) that He said (pertaining to verse 19) but they also believed the (scripture). What scripture and where is it in the old testament? |

7 | Filled with the Holy Spirit or not? | 1 Tim 2:12 | chris4him | 147745
Hi, sorry I guess I got a little carried away. The question in view of the scripture provided in my last (note); could someone be filled with the Holy Spirit of God without having asked the Father specifically for Him, even though that someone is a born again believer having asked Christ to come into his heart?
8 | We must ask... | 1 Tim 2:12 | chris4him | 147675
When the people were gathered in the upper room in Acts 2 they were there because Christ told them to wait for the Holy Spirit. They were all believers in Christ, born again, Christ had died for thier sins just like me and you but they weren't empowered yet. In Acts chapter 19 Paul came across some believers while he was going through Ephesus, recognizing them as believers but asked them "have you received the Holy Spirit since you belived?" They obviously hadn't. In Luke 11:13 Jesus says the Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. Not just if you believe in His Son and are born again. Jesus says we must ask the Father. Don't you ever wonder why the Church isn't walking in power (signs and wonders) that it did at the time Acts was written? The last verse in the book of Mark says "And they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following, Amen." The word says that the latter church will be greater than the former. meaning that the church today will be greater than the church in the book of Acts. We need the Holy Spirit. We need the gifts He brings to empower us to reach the lost of this world. In one of Paul's epistles it says that we can now go BOLDLY to the thone of grace. and ask Him for His most Holy Spirit to empower and guide us. Sorry I'm so long winded but until the body of Christ starts asking the Father for His Holy Spirit we'll never reach the lost, the reason Christ tarries His return. Christ wants us to walk in love but also POWER and a sound mind 2Tim 1:7 God bless with revelation power!! |

9 | The Holy Spirit in us.. | 1 Tim 2:12 | chris4him | 147574
FIRST - Are we ready to allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to witness. Acts 1:8 Jesus didn't want His followers going out to be His witness without His Holy Spirit to empower them first. Is the church out there trying to do God's will and witness without His Holy Spirit? Do you believe you automatically receive the Holy Spirit when you give your life to Christ and become born again? Thanks for your answers in Christ, Chris
10 | Where's the fear of God? | 1 Tim 2:12 | chris4him | 147279
Amen brother Searcher!! If we don't get a well done then what do we get? Our God doesn't have an almost club. There is no gray color in His decorating scheme. His yes is yes and His no is no. The problem with the Church today is we've lost our fear of Him. And rarely cry out to Him unless we're in trouble and need His help. So what are we going to do about it? He's coming back for a "perfect" bride. Are we ready Church?
11 | Are we ready? | 1 Tim 2:12 | chris4him | 146349
Hi, This is what all believers (followers) of Christ obviously want to hear when they're standing before their Creator. But how many of us are really ready to die today for Him? Peter wasn't ready when they took Christ from him in the garden. He saw Christ first hand, our God who became a man. And Peter failed. He wasn't ready to go to the cross with Jesus then. What changed him? What got him ready. In John 21, after 3 years in ministry Peter went back to his old life of fishing. What makes some of us able to endure hard ship and others stumble and fall back. In Zechariah the word says "Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord." Most of us that participate on this Forum live lives that are free to worship and express thier beliefs as they choose, without (much) ridicule or pursecution. If our goal is to be ready to die today, as Peter told Christ in the garden. Then we better make sure we've got the right Spirit at work in us, giving us the strength and courage to endure that trial. I might have strong convictions and faith in what I believe but if thats all I have, the (Chris spirit) isn't going to see me through. I better make sure the Holy Spirit of God is in me and working through me, that I will be able to endure. If anyone reading this has any doubts about being infilled with His Spirit, don't let pride or self assurance deceive you into believing you'll be ready. We that are evil know how to give good gifts to our chidren. How much more and better will our Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. It's just like when you got saved and asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Now you can go straight to your Father in heaven and ask Him to give you His Holy Spirit and you'll receive power Acts 1:8 Not by my might, not by my power, but by the power of His Spirit!! God bless His body as it strives to become a perfect bride. |
