hi all my question is on how to introduce myself via self-discovery and exploration to New Testament Greek and Old Testament Hebrew, further than the basic "oversimplified" (in my friends' views) resources at blueletterbible.org and esword freeware (Strongs is oversimplified and not true accurate diction in scholarship) i would be interested particularly in studying and comparing at most one chapter per study session of two hours or so with the KJV orand NASB any booklist, good websites, links etc to recommend? |

what is God saying to us in the world of today through this Bible pericope Job 24:12 From out of the populous city men groan, and the very life of the wounded cries for help; yet God [seemingly] regards not the wrong done them. Job 24:13 These wrongdoers are of those who rebel against the light; they know not its ways nor stay in its paths. Job 24:14 The murderer rises with the light; he kills the poor and the needy, and in the night he becomes as a thief. Job 24:15 The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me, and he puts a disguise upon his face. Job 24:16 In the dark, they dig through [the penetrable walls of] houses; by day they shut themselves up; they do not know the sunlight. Job 24:17 For midnight is morning to all of them; for they are familiar with the terrors of deep darkness. Job 24:18 [You say]--- the above, which i asked in a previous entry, may refer to pockets of problematic violence chances, uncontrollable ones at that, in Indonesia, Pakistan, Iraq, Gaza Bosnia, etc. Bush may be injecting a lethal blow in the latest initiative of his to bring it to one Piece my opinion |

5 | exegesis allegoric vs literalist being d | Bible general Archive 4 | mightilycalled | 199032
hi doc, Please may i ask, how do you know God never intended eternity and infinity of meanings to stream from the initial primary context Q this is the argument by allegory parallelism exegetes and other interpreters if Jesus is the Incarnation of the Word as flesh, then the fact he use figures of speech could lead us to realize the depth of meaning of not just the OT but also the NT, in dual and higher overtones of overlapping significance of meaning for me, this is powerful as the Bible stands alone in a class of her own, it is for me THE crystal ball where language and thought come together powerfully to give foresight and foretaste of unfolding world history and Gods will my support from www-- THIS EXCERPT FROM http www.torreys.org bible nomencla.htm 4) Philo the exegete Only in one text is Philo directly referred to as --exegete-- (though more as a description than as a title), namely in the Syriac writer Barh adbsabba cArbaya, who regards him as founder of the Alexandrian school of exegesis, and the one whose example led the great Origen astray.39 Other texts, however, point towards the same aspect of his literary activity. ... |

6 | prophet defined by greekstudybible.org | Bible general Archive 4 | mightilycalled | 199048
from greekstudybible.org definition of prophet in NT and OT i think what i spelled out earlier in my prophetic assertions and scripture support fits in exactly and well, thanks prophet -s one who speaks forth openly before any one, a proclaimer of a divine message; among the heathen, an interpreter of the oracle. In the lxx. it is the translation of the earlier øàä, seer, showing that what really constituted the prophet, was immediate intercourse with God it is the ordinary word for , which means, either one in whom the Divinity permits his word to spring forth,---- or one to whom anything is whispered.--- The usage, however, of the word is clear; it signifies one on whom the Spirit of God rested (Num 11:17,25,26,29)... any alternative readings? |

7 | i dont get your point please write far m | Bible general Archive 4 | mightilycalled | 199091
my point for point questioning resumes below: he was speaking... rationally true, in many areas but then it was to them (thee), even then if it was so clear why was Chri.st rejected when he was born and grew up as he was and did not us (you, ye, kjv) the world has changed drastically over 2000 years agriculture, fishing etc are not dominant in the first world there were points and even whole chapters where God, it appears, speaks irrationally, in figures of speech to us. eg Job, out of the thunder, Ezekiel 1,-secular critics of Ezekiel 1 say he may have been an extremely deranged schizo to experience all that, to St. Peter with the living creatures vision and SIGN to go mix with the Gentiles and eventually be rebuked by St.Paul for his stumbling sin in this. 2 true, there is only one PRIMARY interpretation, but there is INFINITUDE of overtones as to what the unbelievers and less faithful are misled to think. From here we can VERY LOGICALLY speculate accurately or at least as a discipline, in incrementally-progressively greater achievements of accuracy of prediction of unfolding world history and future details and other phenomena over time. eg Isaac Newton, Galileo, widely and deeply Bible conscious antiCs are eg da Vinci, Einstein Revd. Dake, in Gods Plan for Man, a book, quoted sb. eminent in declaring the Bible to be the best library for philosophy i have found Ecclesiastes alone to be the best Philosophy-Prophecy manual luke 24:27 can be interpreted in my allegoric way too. consider Isaiah, Psalms 1-10 im not clear what exegesis is. one pastor i know says it means dissecting and dissecting to derive meaning that not everybody can apprehend (Assembly of God, Asia). my Bible-Presbyterian pastor says the key reason for my imaginative errant interpretations is my absence of knowledge in this area thanks for your prompt help, sorry for not responding sooner, this hopefully is an interim answer embodying my reservations as to the efficaciousness of literalism whatever it really does. i feel it robs analytical-minded seekers of parallel truth reservoirs of the chance to find Christ out satisfyingly i will look at #15-- and #17-- in your last answer later when i have more time and less tired, thanks i have 2 serious medical conditions, asthma, incurable being one of them and i need to build stamina over at least 7 hours to concentrate without disruption. i am glad you understand |

8 | ?mt 11:12 Kingdom violence ?today | Bible general Archive 4 | mightilycalled | 199105
the light shines on in the darkness, which has not mastered it, the light-John 1 this could be understood allegorically though secondarily, typologically, numerologically, symbolically, whatever as modern pious Jews like to say and write, preach and proclaim that the world opinion surrounds the propogation of the Gospel and NT Prophecy, yet they misappropriate it so in my opinion as a NT prophet who i believe i am and am partially accepted as so by some Christians in local churches, you have to decidedly NOT ignore these misinterpretations and miscommunications to understand the signs of today prophetically pointing to Jesus return. they EQUALLY constitute reality; they are real beliefs, though unbeliever or misguided beliefs |

well its in a crucial way a question, since someone here wrote that Old T. verses dont apply to dreams today... i need the Bible-adhering n adoring verification many of you guyz profess anyway Day, A. C. is a very prolific and imaginative and enthusiastic and joyful Bible verse compiler, the apt theological term is, polemical- NOT his word but one i am aware of consider Jesus b4 the religious and political establishment- Pharisees or Pilate, St Paul in Athens, John in the Gospels and Epistles. they too seem to value the mild brand of polemics i look up to Polemic From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia redirected from Polemical This article discusses the term polemic... Polemics is the practice of disputing or controverting religious, philosophical, or political matters. As such, a polemic text on a topic is often written specifically to dispute or refute a position or theory that is widely viewed to be beyond reproach. The antonym of a polemic source is an apologia. There are other meanings of the word as well. Polemic is also a branch of theology, pertaining to the history or conduct of ecclesiastical controversy. The word is derived from the Greek word polemikos (ðïëåìéêùò) which means warlike.[1] Plato uses a character named Polemarchus in Plato's Republic as a vehicle to drive forward an ethical debate. 13 | pls explain more | Psalm | mightilycalled | 196400
Note: Dear mightilycalled, PS A disclaimer in one's profile does not excuse or mitigate the terms of privilege under which posts are created --------------First, i explain. i quoted most of the verses in order from a published book that had permission from your affiliate, Zondervan. But i did not quote the headings. i dont agree with the accuracy of the headings, and quoted a little out of the context i think was intended by the theologian. i also inserted other quotes to disrupt the order so i think most of the credit should go to me. Over the years we notice that some forum participants prefer to use the words of others rather than invest the time, energy, and effort in composing their own. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. For example, bringing a particularly well written quote from someone with greater authority, ability, or knowledge than our own can often be an exercise of value to us all. Of course, when we fail to attribute to the rightful owner the words we use, it becomes a different matter. This is what is called plagiarism -- which is just a fancy word for stealing. Its a bit worse than that, however, because it is also an effort to elicit admiration for prowess of intellect, creativity, and academic industry that rightly belongs to someone else. Consequently, this sort of behavior is rooted in violations of at least two and perhaps three of the Ten Commandments; i.e., it is sin. Nothing rooted in sin will bring benefit, --------------hopefully you know from your schooling it is very possible that others have had similar lines of reasoning to me, though not exactly worded alike. either to ourselves or to those around us. Indeed, underhanded behavior can often detract from the position we are teaching. It brings doubt to our character, as well as the character of the organizations to which we belong. It demonstrates and allegiance to the spirit of the age, not at all to the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, failure to properly annotate is an explicit violation of the agreement we have signed when we created our account on the forum. ---------a good q-- what's proper annotation, is Treasury of Scripture Knowledge Revised and Expanded Second Printed Hardback Edition abbreviated annotation like what i did proper Furthermore, every time we post we click a button that says "I Agree." Our gracious host has specific legal requirements by which they can operate. The terms by which we quote are part and parcel of those requirements. could you be specific how i have violated these Please, in the future, show greater respect for the Lord, the Lockman Foundation, and your fellow forum members by employing the highest possible standards of intellectual honesty.
