1 | What pastor or church can be trusted | 1 Sam 3:1 | Searcher56 | 27152
Scripture ... Acts 17:14, Eph 4:11-13 ... Shell, It is harmful if we continue to listen to error. It is not silly to want to listen to only the truth. We do need a pastor to help us grow. I doubt there is a pastor who is perfect in their teaching. We do need to take what they teach and study beyond. We could find something in the Bible that we think makes their teaching wrong or fall. We need to ask them about what we read ad heard. They should be able to explain the differences. If they are wrong, they should be willing to admit it. My pastor, and others even urge us to bring to them these differences we find. Study Scripture and when you hear error, you'll know it right away. Just like bank tellers can tell the bogus bills ... because they studied the real stuff. I hope this helps, Searcher (Steve) |

3 | What pastor or church can be trusted | 1 Sam 3:1 | Searcher56 | 27617
Scripture ... Act 17:11; Rev 2:6,15 ... While it doesn't say the Bereans approached Paul, I think they did. I share with my pastor what I got out of the message, including how I see other links in the Bible or illustrations from life. Some think the Nicolaitans taught that the pastor was at a higher level than his people. The pastor is accountable to someone in the church, mosst of the time. Searcher |
