mamabull: Some feel that the soldiers who remained on their feet and lapped the water from their hands instead of kneeling showed preparedness for any emergency. But since the Bible gives no reason for this distinction, the most satisfactory conclusion is that it was merely a way to divide the crowd. Their ability as soldiers had no bearing on the victory anyway. Read on in this narrative and you will see that the enemy soldiers fled without engaging Gideon's men in battle at all. --Hank | ||||||
