Jews would not agree with that definition -- regardless of stripe (practicing, non-practicing, religious, etc.). See the section on "Who is a Jew?" in the middle of this page: http://www.jewfaq.org/whoisjew.htm "It is important to note that being a Jew has nothing to do with what you believe or what you do." But for a non Jew to become a Jew he must practice Judaism. Once he converts he is considered a Jew. The fact that Jews consider non practicing Jews Jews is their business. But for a person born and raised in US of Christian parents to become a Jew he must practice the religion of Judaism. Hey what do I know I was only grafted into vine by blood of Jesus |
