1 | Judas is called the son of perdition | Bible general Archive 3 | Morant61 | 170324 | ||
Greetings Brad! I am very surprised that someone of Pink's ilk would take such an unusual position. Further, his position is fairly easy to disprove. Consider, John 13:27. It says, " As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. "What you are about to do, do quickly," Jesus told him," How could Judas be the Devil incarnate if Satan entered into him? Further, it is not true that the word 'devil' always refers to the person of Satan. Here are a couple of verses where the word 'devil' is used as an adjective meaning something like 'slanderous'. a) 1 Tim. 3:11 - "In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything." b) 2 Tim. 3:3 - " without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good," c) Titus 2:3 - "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good." Hi Tim, Your insight, as always, is appreciated. I'm not necessarily in complete agreement with Pink on this point. However, it is an interesting observation if nothing else. Possibly Judas could be the Devil incarnate- as the son of satan- in (counterfeit) opposition to Jesus as the Son of God? At any rate, the Gospel of Judas is, in my estimation, a satanic ploy to take the focus off the True God, Jesus Christ and His Person. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

I tend to agree with Pink. I'm not dogmatic about it, but I tend to agree that it is not unlikely that Judas is the antichrist. Where does the Bible actually SAY the antichrist is the devil incarnate? Is it not possible that Judas could be the antichrist - WITHOUT being the devil incarnate? Moreover, I think it more likely that Judas will be the antichrist rather than Prince Charles, Henry Kissinger, or Marilyn Manson, to cite a few of the more ridiculous speculations about the identity of the antichrist. I don't know who the antichrist is and I don't care to know. (If one wants to play Pin the Tail on the Antichrist, Hal Lindsey is one's man.) Yet I think the idea that it will be Judas is worthy of consideration. Grace to you, Kalos |

Greetings Kalos! Perhaps I misread Pink's quote, but I thought that Pink was saying that Judas was the Devil incarnate. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi Tim, I don't think you misread anything, here is the quote: "Judas then was the Devil incarnate, just as the Lord Jesus was God incarnate." I think this is rather clear, but, for the reasons you said, among others, is rather wrong. This would mean that Jesus sent the devil, Satan, out to heal, and cast out demons!? Luke 9 1 And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. 3 And he said to them, "Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. 4 And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5 And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them." 6 And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. Greetings Mark! Good point! ;-) And, we know that Jesus also said, "...‘How can Satan drive out Satan?'" - Mark 3:23. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
