The third one wae Enoch. Genesis 5:22, And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years , and begat sons and daughters. vs 24, And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Enoch "translated that he should not see death" (HEB.11:5) before the judgement of the flood is a type of those saints who are to be translated before the apocalyptic judgements(1 Thess 4:14-17).
3 | Why is Enoch not at the Trasnfiguration? | Bible general Archive 3 | Jesusman | 192835
Ok .. now for the silly question out of no where in particular for no reason other than curiosity. If it is Enoch and Elijah who ascended into heaven without seeing death, and Jesus being the third one to also Ascend into heaven, why is it that Enoch is not present at the Transfiguration in Matthew 17:1-8? In that moment, two out of the three seen there ascended, or would ascend. Moses didn't, so why is he there? Jesusman |

J-man, I don't know that the scriptures speak to why Moses and Elijah were there but Enoch was not. Apparently their ascension had no bearing on this. I've read the speculation that perhaps this represented the three groups of people that will be present when Christ institutes His kingdom on earth. "The disciples represent individuals who will be present in physical bodies. Moses represents saved individuals who have died or will die. Elijah represents saved individuals who will not experience death, but will be caught up to heaven alive"—Bible Knowledge Commentary Naturally, it should be noted this is nothing more then speculation on their part. There is no scriptural evidence that I'm aware of that gives any validity to this. Steve |

Hi, I agree with J-man. I do not believe nor do I know why scripture does not tell us. I believe that a lot of events in the Bible we will not fully understand until we go home to Heaven.

Hi Grace... J-man is the one who ask the question :-) You responded to me. Just letting you know so if he doesn't read your post he may not see your answer. More then likely he will though so it's probably no big deal :-) I may have confused things by referring to him as J-man instead of his screen name. Sorry about that but the truth is, I don't feel comfortable calling him by the chosen screen name. Don't mean anything by that by the way it's just me :-) Thanks for your post! Steve |

Your welcome Sister! And don't get discouraged. Before you know it, it will all be clear as mud :-) I've been there myself so I can relate. By the way, the best advise I can give you on how the forum web site works is to keep in mind there is no edit option so once it's posted, well there is no taking it back :-( May God bless you too!
