Gratefully, yes there are. There are many, many places throughout the entire Old and New Testament where God shows us His love for us (Psalm 119:92), especially in hard times. Psalm 119:105 says, "Thy Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light unto my path." How beautiful to know. Take for instance an earthquake, in the middle of the night. It's dark. What do you need? A Flashlight, so you can make your way through the darkness. God promises He will be our shelter in the storms of life. Psalm 23:3 states God will restore our soul. Like a shepherd who loves his flock (for Jesus says he loves us, no doubt!), He keeps track of us and holds us in troubling times. It's a promise. Romans 10:13 says, "for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." This applies to our believing Jesus is Lord and He will save us from eternal seperation from God. However, it is a promise that He will NOT turn His ear from us if we call Him. If you are a committed Christian (you have realized that you , like Everyone have sinned, been rebellious, etc. and have accepted that Jesus took upon Himself the entire penalty for your sin...every one you have or will ever do and accepted His free gift of salvation through prayer), you have so much hope. Psalms 91:4 - "He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler." So, just as a mother hen will hide her chicks under her wing if she suspects danger, so God takes us into the shelter of His bosom. God is the God of this univese and everything. He cared enough about you to save your eternal life (John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life), so you wouldn't be forever seperated from Him (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9). You can do an internet bible search with a keyword of "love and hardship" The Psalms is filled with verses sharing of how God will be there for us, always. He will especially be there for us in our pain, misery, bad times, hard times, challenges, heartaches, broken hearts, etc. He is not a human that he can lie and He is God, so He WILL always be there for us. It's His promise. |
