1 | Question about nations of the world | Bible general Archive 2 | Chusarcik | 124541
From www.zionministry.com I reviewed a chart called Nations of the World that chronicles the descendents of the sons of Noah. This chart shows the European nations such as France, Germany,Sweden, etc. coming from the line of Shem, the son from whom the Israelites come. From www.freemaninstitue.com, it states the same European nations descended from Japeth, the oldest son. My Bible study group is confused by this conflicting information. Which one is correct? I'm wondering why this is so important to you. It shouldn't be important to christians at all, as we're all able to be children of God. To me, this kind of discussion just breeds disrepect and sometimes even prejudice. Hopefully you've got good motives for generating this question. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

Country Girl, It is important to me because the Bible very carefully lists geneology in Genesis and elsewhere in the Bible and the promises and covenents made to each of the sons of Adam. I believe it is important to study all information given in God's word to know him more thouroughly. If we were not to carefully ponder His word why would he give it to us? We have in our Bible group members of many different nationalities and back grounds (my own includes Native American, for example) and there is absolutely no intent to develop prejudice against anyone, just to try to understand God's word as set forth in the Bible. Perhaps the Bible does not give us enough information to know the correct answer and if that is so that is fine, but I've come across conflicting information as stated in my original question and wonder if anyone can answer the question? One more thing, I think it is important to be versed on this information so when study members ask I can answer intelligently, even if it is just to tell them if applicable that the Bible doesn't give conclusive information on the subject. THanks, Chusarcik
