Did Jesus ever drink wine? The only verse that I can come up with where it might insinuate that He did is the following: Mat 11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. Mat 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children. Is Jesus saying here that He did drink wine? And if He did was if fermented wine? |

This past sunday evening I attended one of our Church small groups. My wife and I brought three teenage boys whom are friends with my son,"which by the way just got saved about six months ago"to the group. We had communion. One of the boys asked me if Jesus ever drank wine. My answer was no. One of the things that was done to prepare for the pass over was to get rid of all leaven. Therefore the wine they drank would of had to be juice only. | ||||||

REX I consider this a strong point also in the arguement about alcoholic wine. Leaven of any kind was simply not allowed in the passover celebration. EdB |
