2 | Host | Josh 5:14 | kalos | 106934
And He said, No [neither], but as Prince of the Lord's host have I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, What says my Lord to His servant? (AMPLIFIED Joshua 5:14) Q: "Who are/is the host (captain of the host, lord god of host, heavenly host?" A: I don't know. But the following passage is a good place to start when looking for the answer. Joshua 5:13-15 (ESV) When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, "Are you for us, or for our adversaries?" [14] And he said, "No; but I am the commander of the army of the Lord. Now I have come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, "What does my lord say to his servant?" [15] And the commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, "Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so. |

5 | Angels | Josh 5:14 | Buddhist 2 | 106948
Want are angels if not part of the host? 1.) God has angels who constantly patrol the earth, reporting back to Him at His throne. (Rev. 5:6; Zech. 4:10; IIChron. 16:9) 2.) Angels watch after the saints, the begotten of God (Acts 12:15; Matt18:10 Ps. 91:11) 3.) And they have been assigned to watch over the little ones of this earth (Matt. 18:10 Acts 12:15). 4.) Angels have served as messengers. The Bible tells that Gabriel appeared to Zachariah, the father of John the Baptist, and to Mary the mother of Jesus. |

6 | Angels | Josh 5:14 | EdB | 106952
Buddhist 2 Your right. Perhaps I misunderstood your question I thought you asking who was the Lord of Host. To that I answered Jesus. If your question is who is the Host then I would sayin this case the angels. But the definition of the host can be expanded to all of creation for one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. EdB |

7 | ranking | Josh 5:14 | Buddhist 2 | 106960
Thank you very much for your answers, I am learning much. Are the heavenly host ranked? Are they superior to me in ranking? Will they be chosen first?
8 | ranking | Josh 5:14 | EdB | 106965
Yes the Heavenly host is ranked apparently there are archangels such as Gabriel and Michael. And yes they are higher yet the word says we will rule them. The heavenly host that are righteous never rebelled therefore never experienced salvation. Thus they don’t understand it. We on the other hand have experienced both the lostness of sin and joy of salvation. Therefore we are chosen they aren’t and we one day will even rule over them. EdB |

9 | saved | Josh 5:14 | Buddhist 2 | 106971
so it is better to be lost then saved, then never to be losted at all? I am not being a wise guy but what do you do with an angel.
10 | saved | Josh 5:14 | EdB | 106978
No, that is not what is meant here. I think what is meant is we as a people of God have chosen to give our love and alliance to God. Where the angels just do it by nature. That make us people taht have tasted both and have chosen the better. EdB |
