Hello tonize Scripture does not say his sins were forgiven. Therefore, I would say he is in hell. Steve |

Right scripture does not say he was forgiven, but he was a disciple. Did Jesus not die for ALL sins or was Judas excluded?
4 | Heaven or Hell, where is Judas? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 50730
Hello tonize I (and most on this forum) would say that Christ's atoning death on the cross was sufficient to cover the sins of all men for all time, but it is only effective in those who believe on Him. The Lord Jesus Himself refers to Judas Iscariot as "a devil" (John 6:70) and "the son of destruction" (John 17:12). Also Jesus says that it would have been better for His betrayer to have never been born (Matt 26:24-25; Mark 14:21). I could go on. Though Judas was one of the twelve disciples, he never believed. How do we know that Judas didn't repent? the Bible doesn't say that he did or that he didnt.I just find it hard to believe that Jesus would allow satan to exist with his inner circle. That would be contradictory since Jesus is opposite of satan, to allow satan into his ministry. And for this it were better that he not be born, does that mean Judas was born only to betray Jesus and go to hell? I thought we all had a choice? Does God make people just to "go to hell" |

Hello tonize Repentance is two-part. First, we turn from what we are doing. Second, we turn to God and are obedient to Him. Judas turned from what he did and hanged himself. This is not obedience to the living God. Judas was born that the Scriptures might be fulfilled (Matt 26:56 -- betrayal at Gethsemane). He just followed his own desires. God does not make anyone go to hell. If the Savior had not intervened, we all would go there. Jesus did not say Judas was Satan but referred to him more as a henchman. As for God/Jesus using Satan for His purposes, it's already happened more than once. See Job 1,2 and compare 2 Samuel 24:1 with 1 Chron 21:1. Steve |
