Luke 14:3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? The word “lawyers” in the Koine Greek is the word, NOMIKOS pronounced, nom-ik-os. Here is the meaning from “Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionary” Greek 3544, Strong’s from Greek 3551 (nomos); according (or pertaining) to law, i.e. legal (ceremony); as noun, an expert in the (Mosaic) law - about the law, lawyer.
