Tim I always thought that the wise men had arrive shortly after Jesus birth and Herod gave the order for babies 2 yrs and younger to be sure that Jesus was killed. Didn't they bring their gifts so that would be soon after the birth? I know I must take time line into consideration. Seedling |

Greetings Seedling! Every indication is that they came much later than the time of His birth. Unfortunately, many manger scenes portray them as at the manger. :-) The indicators include: 1) Jesus is called a 'child' not an infant. 2) Herod's order to kill every male child two and under. He may have expanded the time somewhat, but most don't believe that he would have expanded it by two full years. 3) The magi are said to have been led to the 'house' where He was, not the manger. I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
