1 | Paul, the thirteenth apostle? | NT general Archive 1 | Chaseroo | 139223
Would it be right, or at least O.K. in a literary sort of way, to refer to St. Paul as the "Thirteenth Apostle or disciple." I mean, that is he, for all practical purposes, thought of in this regard and way as far as Christian history is concerned. I realize that he is really not, since there were only twelve, but for a school research paper, I would like to call him this. Would it be alright to do so?

Dear Steve, Thanks for your reply. Also though, Am I correct in considering Paul as the thirteenth. Is that the number you would call Paul when referring to him this way?

Hello Chaseroo, You would not be wrong in considering him as the 13th. The number just isn't important. Barnabas was also called an apostle (1 Cor 9:3-7). Steve |
