Hi Biblebeliever, Is it more important to memorize the Scriptures or believe them? 1 Corinthians 15:2, KJ, "By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless he have believed in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:2, NKJ, "by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain." Do you have the scriptures?? Or are you just using a term that perhaps you don't understand? In 2 Tim.3:16 the Bible says "All scripture is given by inspiration of God-".Do you have something that is inspired or just "a reliable translation". If there isn't a 100 percent perfect Bible, then may I suggest that our scriptures are corrupt and we don't know for sure what's been changed by man.Maybe baptism does save and you and I are going to Hell. NO. I have the scriptures just like Timothy did in 3:15. | ||||||

Greetings Biblebeliever! Thanks for the recommendation. I have many books which describe the history of the Bible, so I am familiar with the process. What I was curious about is how you view the process. Did all of the manuscripts used by the TR agree with one another on every single point or did they differ at points? When they differed, how was once reading chosen over another one? If textual choices were made on the TR, how is this any different from the process used by modern translations, using many more manuscripts than were available at the time the text of the TR was established? If we can come to terms with these basic issues, then we can have profitable discussions about textual choices. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
