Communion is open to all believers. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward pledge (an acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior). Salvation does not depend on baptism, baptism is a step of obedience made by those who believe. So if you have not been baptised that does not preclude you from taking communion. While I agree that we are not justified by baptism, could you give me a reason why a true believer would take part in communion but neglect baptism? Look at the New Testament model. When did new converts get baptized, in every recorded case? --Joe! |

You are right, a true believer would not neglect baptism. Baptism in any form, sprinkling or immersion, there is no excuse…if a believer comprehends the Scriptures. There could possibly be true believers who have been misled by their church by not requiring baptism as adults. (The church I attend has baptized many people from churches that do not have a baptistry. That says volumes about those believers and their understanding of the Word.) -PJC |
