1 | Jewish calendar? | OT general | Emmaus | 111541
CDBJ, I can't say this area is my forte, but as I recall the day that Ttius and the Roman legions destroyed the Temple or took Jerusalem in 70 AD was the exact same calendar day as the babyloniand sacked the first Temple. You may already be aware of that and how it may or may not fit into your studies on the matter. Emmaus |

2 | Jewish calendar? | OT general | CDBJ | 111562
Hi Emmaus, You are right, but the one main missing ingredient, when the legions of Titus besieged Jerusalem, in AD 70, was the fact that the Romans didn’t desecrate the temple. Titus destroyed the temple but veneration by the conquerors wasn’t an issue as it will be with the antichrist. The desecration of the temple and the demanded worship of the Jew will be the key issue as expounded on further by Paul. 2 Thes. 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. I calculate from what the antitype has shown, should it apply, that the little horn will make a pact of safety with the Jews likely sometime in the springtime in what ever year it happens, in May or June. Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. Rev. 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. I equate these ten horns with the ten toes of the image in Daniel. Daniel 2:41-45 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 42And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 44And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. The last world ruler, which is the final destroyer of the Jews and God’s chosen, will be crushed by Jesus just before he sets up his final kingdom. I really enjoy eschatology and try to fit Scripture with Scripture, CDBJ |
