1 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87095
I have a question regarding the difference of opinion on certain issues. What's up with the attitudes?? We're suppose to share the Word with Love and Humility. We're not going to always agree with our brothers or sisters. For some of us, our Spiritual Education is on a lower level than others, and some of the replies I've read are nothing short than anti-biblical. But is that reason enough to become upset with one another?? Whatever happen to Blessed are the Peace Makers?? I'm under the impression that scripture says that if we have fault with our brethern, then reconciliation should be made quickly before the problem escalates. I personally believe that within that commandment, reconciliation should be made rather we are at fault or not. Keeping the peace is more important than Pride. I've been reading alot of the notes being passed between what are suppose to be mature christians, and I sense hostility, with very little apology. Jesus didn't give up on the lady at the well because she just didn't get it at first, neither did He give up on Nicodems, and I don't know if he ever understood at all, but in neither case did Jesus turn around and refuse to stop trying, or blow them outta the water because they just didn't get what He was saying. And before anyone wants to go and get all technical on these examples, their just that, examples. The point being, lets choose our words a little more carefully; keep our tempers in check, and if necessary pray before we give our responces. Remember: 1. The truth is suppose to be shared in Love and with Humility. 2. Anything that is not done in love is done in vain. And 3. There are a number of mature christians on this site, lets act like it. I'm crucified daily off this site by the world, I do not need to be, nor witness crucifixion on this site by my brothers and sisters oover something like a differenc of opinion. The CurtMan |

2 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman2 | 87120
TheCurtMan: I agree with you that we ought to be kind to one another, loving one another. Also, consider this: the woman at the well did not respond to each thing Jesus said by telling him: "No, you're wrong." "It doesn't mean that." "You're taking it out of context." "I will not engage in your games." Although the woman at the well didn't get it at first, she apparently had a teachable spirit (see John 4:28-30). Grace and peace, Radioman2 |

Radioman2, I can't arguee with you on that. Been there, done that, and got a t-shirt for it. A few years ago I had this crazy idea about evanglizing Jehovah Witnesses. I seriously got up on Saturday Mornings and went to the street corners where they were handing out Watchtower Mags. I had been dealing with these two men for awhile. One of them was deeply grounded in his belief, he wasn't going anywhere, or so that's the impression he gave me. His partner on the other hand started taking interest in some of the questions that were being asked. His partner couldn't get around the truth and he started to pick this up. The discussion was on the destruction of the world taken out of II Peter 3. I was consteadly being hit with; "No, you're wrong."; "It doesn't mean that."; the whole nine yards. I ended up loosing my cool and came outta my mouth with, "I don't care what the bible says, I'm telling you what it means!!" End of story. Everything said from that point was wasted energy. This is an open line of communication. You might not be able to get through to the person you're corrisponding with, but you have no idea how you're effecting the person who's following your conversation. |
